I killed a Seeker with my Juggernaut which I had armed with RPG6s. Felt good. :-D. I also accidentally bought a deal for a weapon I already have for 2.99 and got 1050 acoins instead. Or 350 acoins per dollar. Teed off I did that by touching the screen with my ear buds, but then happy I got acoins. It's been a day. Lol. 😂

That's actually a really good deal for the acoins!

Today (actually yesterday) I finally maxed this little guy and loaded him up with two HR8’s. It’s been a long time coming, especially since I only play a few games a week these days. But I had amassed over 10k a-coins, and I blew almost all of ‘em getting the bp’s I needed for the last two levels. Of course I’m sure the MM will put in its two cents now, since my SP jumped by over 200, but what the heck. Still running just two slots, the other filled with a Tengu with ember guns. That one’s only at 6.3 and has a very long way to go to max, especially at the rate BP’s show up.

Their power rating is often just as high if not higher than bigger mechs and it will skew your SP rating. I noticed this when I maxed my Shadow and Tengu and it's the reason I don't run light mechs anymore. 8EN weapons just don't cut it in this game at my level anymore.

Unbelievable- now I’m getting Lancer BP’s like they grow on trees, now that I have absolutely zero use for them. And of course Tengu’s are nowhere to be found. Oh yeah, and MM is a total poopshow now.

I decided to set up my second hangar with mechs I haven't used much lately. It has Scorpius, Tengu, Redeemer, Gatecrasher and Slingshot. Scorpius uses Disruptor 8s which are fun against hiding or evading reds. Tengu has Storm Racks 8s so it's pretty fast and hits hard, plus the jump damage ability. On Slingshot I went with Embers for close in fighting on control points. Redeemer has Storm Racks 6s for shooting reds in the face, then running away. It's been pretty effective. Finally there's Gatecrasher with Disc Launcher 8s. It's ability to shoot through cover objects has been more useful than I expected, plus it's a tank and can take a few hits. I tend not drop it first though, or second in 5v5. But when I need a tank it's there. The dls do a good job, as usual. I kept the sp for this hangar low, so these builds work pretty well.

Looked around at options for a new mech, particularly a cheap offer for a Nomad, recalling how much fun the Killshot was to run in past lives. Opted instead to rank up my Stalker to R6.3, which instantly threw the MM into utter chaos. I instantly started seeing every magic mech and weapon imaginable, and I was getting mopped up like I hadn’t seen in quite some time. Seems like it’s gradually settling back down to something more normal.
I’m still thinking about grabbing that Nomad and loading it up with Ember Guns, but I have such a hard time giving these people anything resembling cash these days.
Edit: Well, I grabbed the Nomad. And I hate it. Total glass-jawed piece of junk. Of course it doesn’t help that MM has now gone totally haywire, hammering me with hangars that are WAY over my head. But so far I’m anything but impressed.

I also go with missiles on Nomad most of the time.

I dunno man … my SP dropped by about 600 already replacing a R6.3 Stalker with a R3.4 Nomad, and downgrading a maxed legendary pilot to a brandy new rare one. I think the problem is replacing a Tier IV mech with a Tier VIII. I grabbed a set of storm rack 6’s, and was instantly reminded how bad I was (and still am) with missiles. I’ll either have to resume the long grind for resources to get a decent pilot, or just deal with the poopshow that MM has become.

My 2900 sp hangar faces reds with 5 or 6 star weapons. C'mon now, really? I tried playing 5v5 and cpc then back to Tournament. Didn't help.

Today I … still absolutely SUCK with missiles.
In a past life, when Killshots ruled the land, I would wreak havoc with my jav-laden Killy. Tried many times putting missile racks on it and totally pooped the bed. Such is still the case. Except I have Helixes on my maxed Lancer with a maxed pilot and a bunch of specialized implants. So I don’t want to pidgeonhole myself with another guided loadout, and I’ve got too much sunken into the Lancer build to start switching weapons and pilots now.
Anyway, I don’t know what to do with this Nomad. The only good thing is that I don’t have much invested in it yet - the mech was cheap (hence only a R3), the Storm Rack 6’s were cheap (hence no kill nuttin’), the rare mission pilot was cheap. I could try just about anything, but I don’t know where to take it from here. Maybe wait until I can snag a legendary pilot and load it up with some mad implants, and just suffer through the carnage until then.

I got my Nomad to R6 but still haven't played it yet. I'm waiting til I can max it before fielding, and hopefully pick up some implants for it. I only have purple Nomad implants right now.
For mods, I'm thinking this is another mech, like Bastion where I will put the single layer large HP front facing shield. I can never remember the name of the mods.
As for load outs, I'm not sure. I might start out with HR12 since I have them maxed. But I think I'll eventually put EG12 on it and swap out my Seeker in the TDM hangar.

Nomad is fun, but it takes a while to get used to it. And it's no Surge. The problem is it dies pretty easily without damage reduction being active, and that'll mess with you when playing longer distance weapons or tactics. I'm still not 100% on the damage reduction rules tbh.
Ember Guns are definitely nice on it, even if the getting in close makes you vulnerable. When you start ping-ponging across the map, just killing everything it is just a great sequence. Storm Racks work pretty well, but it takes a while to unload both in close and from a distance. I like them much more on Surge because you can stealth and then snipe with them. I prefer Helix Racks on a Redeemer than Nomad, since it is primed to go backwards, not forward, but I don't play HRs much. Nades work well except they are blinding close in. Pod Guns are actually pretty good too as a sniper, but that's because they curve around cover. Miniguns suck on Nomad.
I keep meaning to check, but doesn't the Mech Damage implant work on Nomad's Dash just the same as the mech-specific implants? Or is it one of the mechs that doesn't qualify? I have the gold Nomad DMG implant and I levelled it a bit, because I don't have any gold Mech Damage ones, but the generics are better to invest in.
