Seeker is on sale for 8.99. Should I? Very tempted. But it's just the next OP mech. (Shrug)

$7.99 for a 3-Star is the offer I'm seeing. Personally I am skipping Seeker. All it's got is its magic ability and it's too much of a camper for my taste. But if you run a bunch of squad matches, then it is definitely a good mech to have.
I wonder about Seeker's long-term value. Really, only the ability makes it effective, if the meta shifts against teleportation, then it's just garbage. Or it could end up being the specialist mech that becomes useful again and again as a counter to the latest OP whatever. The way they've sped up meta shifts, it's really hard to guess anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
All that said, remember you're still collecting bps for it regardless. If you're on the fence and weren't looking to upgrade it immediately, I'm sure that sale will come around again.

I hate when I see that, like the old days with Mortars.

I'm about 7 bots behind on the meta and doing just fine. I think the last thing I bought was an Ember. The rest of my gear is all old school.

I’m somewhat against encouraging Pi-like behavior. That’s where I’m at currently, although I wouldn’t fault anyone for spending on the game. It’s just entertainment. Plarium’s not nearly as bad as Pix. I just can’t stand the MM and the power creep in much of the weaponry. Oh, and I’d spend a reasonable amount on some implants but I’m not gambling on the chance to get implants and the three implants at once for $25 doesn’t…. Damn, sorry about the rant.
I’ve spent about $30 this year. Last purchase was in April, I think. I’ve got a list of things I’d buy for the right price. Plarium’s hasn’t dangled them under my nose yet, 😝.
Please, let us know what you think of the Seeker if you get it. Could be I’m missing out and need to adjust towards the meta a little bit.

I like my Seeker. Sure my survivability with it is about 50/50, but there are times where I feel like I've turned the tide in a battle. Plus, getting the angry face when getting the jump on human players is a hoot. Is it a camper mech? Sure. But it's also an anti-camper mech. Whenever I play against humans, I lose a lot of matches cause they'll just sit back with their sniper builds or RM builds or JR/HR builds. I consider it a decent trade off if I can eliminate those mechs while getting toasted in my Seeker, especially on those maps that are perfect for camping.
I would recommend it especially since it's not the next OP mech anymore. The Deathwalker is the new unkillable mech.

I get google play cards at Christmas. ;-)

The meta now is really the squad meta. If you're going play squad all the time and really want to be competitive, then you have to spend. But otherwise there is now such a range on hangar strength that I don't think it matters, especially given how much MM will sabotage you on AI performance. I still haven't equipped mods, so I'm still at 11,000 SP while some of my friend list has moved up to 19,000. But it doesn't affect anything. I'd still have a similar win rate if I bothered with mods, so what's the point?
Interesting side note btw, my Zephyr has made a real comeback. I was running Zephyr HR12 in CPC for a while for an Accomplishment, and it was a solid build. Now I have started running Zephyr NL12 on some FFA maps, and it can be pretty lethal, especially on the Red Shift map. Not sure if Seeker's ability will make it useful like that long-term, but that was kinda what I was thinking about earlier.

It has definitely made a comeback. I just put him in my second preset hangar, but that was for his Halloween skin with the bats.

Whenever I squad with someone with really high SP, like high teens, I notice that the AI becomes super tough and I don't get many kills. I get a lot of assists though. Basically, the difference is that the AI mechs will have higher level mods and it take a while to break through those.
I guess that does encourage team play because you need to tag team single AI mechs to get a kill.
