So I am slowly, slowly slogging my way to getting Revoker 12 ready. I still need a bunch of bps, the purple damage implant, and 2 more levels of upgrades, so it is going to be a while. Especially as I have been playing and earning less these days.
Still, I am already thinking about the next weapon and I was wondering what people think about Disruptors. My last weapon upgrade was Storm Rack 16s, which can work nicely on Panther on certain maps and modes, but is lacking on some others. I am thinking that Disruptors 16s might be a nice fit for those situations. I know most folks go with the 12s, but once I have Revoker 12s up and running, I'll be pretty set on 12 level weapons with pilots (SR12, MG12, NL12, PG12, HR12). The idea of putting DR16s on Panthers and being able to suppress the field (and get hiding targets) with their big AOE seems appealing. Also, maybe they'd be make other 32EN mechs more viable in the current meta. I still haven't equipped mods, so really I am just using Panther for now. But may be that is a reason to go with 12s (as well as the slow projectile speed).
What do folks think? Has anyone run the 16s? How worth it are Disruptors to begin with?

I've only run the Disruptor 12. It was fun at first but TBH, I find them to be a bit too specific in their use. They are great for flushing out and hitting targets behind cover and they're great for groups of enemies, but that's about it. I've found that with a little practice, I can accomplish most of the same things with NL12s. I can hit around corners and I can flush targets out of cover and I can get clumps of reds at the same time. If the TDM map is one of those tight ones with low ceilings, then I will pull out the Disruptors and go to town but that's about it.
I would probably save resources for other projects first and save the Disruptors as a side project for when you have more credits than you know what to do with.
