Started playing when the dash robots came out and it was so much fun. Watched the game become increasingly stupid and overcomplicated and finally quit when bendy bullets were released. Returned a couple weeks ago to see not much has changed and the power creep is beyond ridiculous. I’ll probably quit again, but had a few questions about how to counter some of the new things before I make that decision.
I run mostly highly leveled older bots like Leech, Phantom, Blitz, Fenrir, etc in Champs league. All at least MK2, some maxed. I could never dominate, but could definitely hang with the meta bots and be competitive. My hanger used to be based around brawling and capping, but now I’ll bot out if I try that and have had to reconfigure things to be longer range and play more from the edges. Which brings me to my questions…
1. I see players running bots whose durability seems to be constantly increasing no matter what. Was in a battle with a Raptor recently with virtually my entire team firing on him and somehow his health was INCREASING. I can unload four maxed Scourges into some of these things and nothing happens. Even my maxed Titan barely makes a scratch. How are they doing this? Is this the bot’s ability? Drones? Pilots? Motherships?
2. Much to my disappointment, the game also seems to be based more on Titan battles now than regular bots. I have hated titans since they were released, but it seems like regular bots are almost inconsequential as long as you have an insanely overpowered Titan. The regular bot battle can be pretty competitive and then suddenly one of those flying titans with super bendy bullets comes out and kills my whole team (sometimes said Uber titan is on my team and he wipes out all the reds, but that’s no fun either). Is there any way to counter that Titan? Or the sniper titan that one shot kills everything? Or those gray bubble guns that kill everything?
3. What’s the deal with last stand? All my bots have maxed last stand, but sometimes they get one shot killed like I don’t even have the module installed. Is there a bot, module, pilot or something that can ignore last stand? How does that happen?
4. Has the matchmaking changed? In the past, there were definitely plenty of games where one team would totally overrun the other, but now I’d say that seems to be the norm. Maybe 1 in 10 games seems to be evenly matched.
Thanks for any input or advice.
