New currency for the early-early adopters. As you’ve probably all heard there’s a new feature called mods on the way. Ruffles has a good vid on ‘em: EDIT: Your intro to MODS will be by clicking on your bot and then the mods feature. You’ll get a free basic mod. I didn’t realize this till it’d been done so I didn’t get any control over which mech got the freebie. It would’ve been nice to have known.

^^^ Same here and it can really make a difference. I’m still a big fan of my EN8 helix rack Shadow. I’ve accepted that it can take a couple hits on the tanky mechs, but now it takes multiple hits and sometimes a strike does nothing at all.
Everyone, I think we’ve been nerfed.

I opened the game to collect my free implant crate and was met with a splash screen offering me a new currency deal for £4.99, claimed my free crate and closed the game. I might try and deal with this new crap tomorrow.

It's a bigger meta shift than a nerf. More a move away from the instakill era to a continuous fire meta. Railguns have taken the worst hit from these new multi-layered shield mods. EMRs can cope with them better, but their effectiveness has gone down. Ember guns took a hit too, but I found you can compensate by starting an alternating fire sequence when you spawn, then just run around holding down the fire button. It makes a big difference!
Sequenced weapons (rockets), multi-round (nades, pod guns), and continuous fire (miniguns, beams, viper, etc) seem like they are all going to be a lot more effective. I tore it up in FFA today with my Surge SR12 (although I have the gold reload implant). Haven't tried MRs but I bet they'll do well. Graviton Beams worked well too. Minigun was alright. Haven't tried anything else, so a bunch of the other weapons what I listed at first is just me guessing. Honestly, haven't had much time to absorb this or figure out what all the new symbols are.
The real insidious thing, is that in addition to the money grab from the new currency (and the fact that adding more currencies will probably dilute our event rewards for A-Coins and scrap, etc), now tons of players are going to rush to set up weapons they barely used. Which means they'll need new implants, pilots, and tons of scrap. We're not just getting it with one money grab, but two. And then there's the mech side with Aegis and Blockhorn and who knows what, for pairing with sustained fire weapons. 🙄

I’ve noticed a respite from snipers this morning. There’s going to be a learning curve for us all. I’m gonna have to adjust my strategies for helix racks. My arc-ts are even more situational than before. Still trying to identify the situations, lol. Another positive is that during this morning's play it felt that there was more sparring and brawling going on and less of the one-shot-kill play that vexes me. If that’s indeed true, I’m all for it.

I run two RG builds, Guardian and Eclipse...both are now nerfed into oblivion instantly. I'm so freaking pissed about this.
All the AI bots have near maxed mods already. How the frack is that fair??

Weapons with large magazine and high fire rate are the flavor to use. MG/CG/SR16. Single shot high dmg weapons are obsolete.railguns are useless.Missle Racks scratch the paintwork,
Played four games to try and get a feeling,my early impressions are my entire armoury is nerfed as I don't have Chain or Machine guns and certainly don't own Storm Racks.
Bots were running Legendary mods and made short work of me, trying to peel back multiple shield layers take forever while bots can still one shot me.
I gave up and left, right now I don't know what to feel, previous nerfs have targeted a couple of items so left plenty of hanger items to use while I adjusted, this change affects everything I have and I'm not dumping money into the game to try and rush a usable hanger, so probably I'm done as I'm tired of chasing their carrot trying to keep up.

Conflicted:
The lack in frequency in being one shot killed is great. The diminished relevance of my arc-ts and HR is a bummer. The increase in sparring is encouraging for future gameplay. Not totally comprehending how MODs are gonna change weapons makes me suspicious of my hanger plans. Welcome to limbo. MM seems to change up the AIs MOD layouts enough to keep me from being aggravated.
I’d appreciate reading any of your observations concerning how mods are proving useful and/or affecting weapons.

Ok, can someone explain this whole multi layer shield thing? How do you layer your shield?

Went in for another round this afternoon, those that hoped to the end of camping will be disappointed as a lot of players are turning to RM's to try and keep out of the dominant AI's sight. My loss rate is way up and there was a lot of rounds ending with one side botting out the other. I often got the feeling my contribution to the team was minimal as not having mods on my bots meant I did little damage while still getting taken out fairly fast.
It's going to take time for a lot of players to get the necessary mods and ranked up, also the best load outs against these mods need to be worked out, although my feeling is most retro weapons are pretty much useless.
I am seeing a lot of players not changing weapons to adapt, still seeing EM's,Railguns and AT's, against other players they are still effective for the time being but against bots running legendary mods then forget it.

Ok, can someone explain this whole multi layer shield thing? How do you layer your shield? One of the mods gives 10 layers of shields when maxed. With one railgun, it will take you more than one and a half minutes before you can actually deal damage to a single target.

Haven’t played in a few weeks, maybe a month - just haven’t felt like it. Just jumped in for a game to see how bad it’s gotten, and it’s pretty bad. It just keeps getting more and more P2W. I think I’m done.

Add another peach to this Paylarium 「dookie」show, once applied mods are tied to that particular bot,so every bot you intend to ever run requires mod purchase and upgrade. And you can't dismantle mods to move the parts to another mod, this seriously restricts hanger freedom now as it will take a good while to fully mod one bot alone.
Unless you spend lots of $$$£££ of course.

Unless you spend lots of $$$£££ of course. Yes, that’s definitely an inconvenient move on their part. Locks players earned and purchased resources into content. No flexibility at all. I think we all need to remind ourselves that this is just the beginning of the mods-meta. There will be MODs added in the future that will reduce the desirability of the current offerings. Perhaps not a complete nerf to what’s offered now, but we all know how good mobile games are at dangling the newest digital carrot. I’m actually surprised how many players I’ve seen with mechs decked out with these new mods. I’d thought the player base would at least give it a couple weeks to see how things would shake out.

Scape 211 has out a short video concerning mods, they have updated the database sheets to include mods and it seems to max one mod for money will cost $200,or if F2P saving the free weekly parts it will take two years, and that's just one mod.

Wonder how often we’ll see mod parts as rewards in events like the current one?

The mods and the multilayer shields are basically Mk2 and Mk3 from War Robots. I think the end is near for me. This is getting beyond ridiculous.
