The Shenlou is pretty much everywhere now in the higher leagues and is probably the most frustrating.... No I mean stupidest bot available today.
Cliffs:
1. Walk backwards (or sideways) if you see an incoming Shenlou headed your way
2. Use Ravana transcendence ability if you get "overwhelmed". Phase shift is OK but is a waste of power cells.
3. Deploy wild wild west tactics and "spray and pray" that your damage output is higher than theirs
4. Profit?
Shenlou has the firepower of a Fenrir, with 4 times the ability of a scorpion and a built in aegis shield because hey, why not? A pilot that gives it extra damage output just because you pushed the ability button is extra icing on the frosting of the cake.
Anyway, I have devised a build that pretty much outplays the overconfident shenlou pilots and thought it might be worth a mention here.
The bot of choice for me is the bot that has outlasted many metas and is still current today. The Ravana. I use an armadillo drone so hopefully by the time I have encountered the enemy I have a few defense points built up by capping 2 home beacons.
So, when you see a shenlou coming your way, you start to walk backwards (even walking sideways will work here) and the Shenlou pilot will lose its bearings as it expects to appear behind you.
You can always use a transcendence ability to dart backwards if the walking doesn't work.
Now it becomes a battle of who can dish out damage faster so you need high DPS weapons here. Mace, Havoc, UE coronas if you have them and of course the new electric weapons do well.
My build of choice uses 2 X Havocs and 1 UE igniter won from a leaderboard event.
You don't have to have the igniter but here's how it turns the tables and I win most 1 on 1 encounters against them.
The igniter provides a slowing effect so the enemy cannot turn their body as fast, so as the shenlou teleports in front of you (they are expecting to be behind you) you unload into their back (shield breaker modules might be useful here too) and it takes them a couple of seconds before they can even turn to you and return fire.
Those shot gun weapons, splinter etc have the same built in effect but I haven't tried them yet.
I find that the smart shenlou pilots will either teleport to another target and the stubborn ones will just keep coming at you, but you have 3 - 4 transcendence abilities to keep them at bay.
