Anyone know if the $1.99/2-Star deals come around again for older weapons like MR16? I feel like for mechs they do, especially if there is a Specialization Spree event (guess I'll see with Scorpius). But I'm less sure for weapons and I'm worried that ship might have sailed. I've been playing MR12s on my Guardian a lot lately and it's made me interested in the 16s. But they'd be strictly a fun weapon and I'm not going to shell out $8.99 for them.

Logged on to a dead alt Looks like $8.99 is the best you're gonna get.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a weapon deal at 1.99. Best I’ve seen lately is maybe 6.99/7.99. 8.99 seems really common right now. Neon shop’s lows are 12.99/13.99 from what I’ve noticed.

The "sales" are for the game to game you.

I definitely got a 2-Star Ember Gun 12 deal when they first went on sale. Ditto for Nomad. They were $2.99 and $3.99 (I assume the Ember was the cheaper one). Also I feel like I got my HR12s at 2-Star. But looking through my purchase history, I definitely get the sense that if a weapon is offered at 2-Star, it is only the very first time it goes on sale (and possibly only for players in that spending demographic). All my other weapon purchases, which I decided to do well after their release, seem to be in the higher price 3-Star category. I wish Google Play would note what the purchase item was. Feels like it should be mandatory that your receipt is itemized.

The "sales" are for the game to game you. The sales are definite price reductions compared to the offers in "Armory." And from a dollar per A-Coin perspective, they are good deals. A 3-Star Missile Rack 16 is 3,100 A-Coins in-game, so at $8.99 sale price that's 344 AC per USD. And A-Coins are almost never sold at a better price than 200AC per USD (which is also rare and for only small quantities). That's why I never use A-Coins to buy gear but wait for the lowest real money price.

I was referring more to how the actual sales(not the neon shop) are tailored to a person's account. It's 1250 coins to R4, so that's not too bad. Tbh the restrictitions of gearhub are what's soured my view of the monetization.

Still a deal, but just.

I think I’ve plateaued in my weapons acquisition. I’ve got a collection of weapons I’m not using, either ‘cause they’d be marginally effective or the scarcity of pilots would keep me from outfitting a build to make them useful. So, why acquire more weapons? I’ve passed up the RG12 for 8.99 twice. I keep thinking about them but can’t get myself to pull the trigger, lol. I’m no longer Plarium’s preferred customer.

I am currently in a weapons phase, both acquiring and upgrading. Although I am pausing on the upgrades to work on Eclipse for a bit. But now that we get blueprints regardless of whether you own the item, we don't have to rush to buy it, unless you see a 2 Star deal I guess. For what it's worth, I am super happy to now have my RG12 doubled. I paid the same price for that, btw. It is fun and effective on Surge in CPC. For tournament though, I keep using the 16s. I think once I get a 2nd RG pilot upgraded enough they should work for it too, but more as reserve on my last mech to spawn, given the lower damage. Great for killing human opponents though.
