I don't tank... So I'm not in that queue...
I have over 2100 League points. It'd be really great to not match against players above 2600 or below 1600.
Why not just cap variance at 500? Or even 700??
That seems fair for everyone involved...
Point is, it's not a fun match when 8 others (friends & foes) have over 2900 League points each. I'm WAY outgunned and armored.
I'd gladly wait a needed 30-90s for a more balanced match. Granted, for newer players they may not appreciate the wait. But I'm sure most of us level 30s are more interested in a balanced match!

Sorry, but the Expert/Master/Champion League guys need your League points so they can become Legends.

Sorry, but the Expert/Master/Champion League guys need your League points so they can become Legends. There's absolute truth in that statement. But that kind of MM system only dilutes every rank within the Leagues. I should only have my Gold 1 because I can beat others around my skill level. Not because I'm seal bashing.

It is not unusual for me to face players with 2 to 3 or more thousand points than me. I float between Expert 1 and Masters 3, sometimes they get my points, sometimes I get theirs. I like fighting them for the challenge and also to test out my hangar. I run as a solo player and grouped into a random team against them. Some are on my team also. There are those rare occurrences that we go up against a full squad of some of the top clans. Makes me dig a little deeper and play that much better.
I personally think it is fun to go against them.
Dang optimists, what ya' gonna do with us.?

Old man on occasion I think like you. That's why generally I like the "leaver league" of whatever they want to call it. The more or less randomness of it. Even though I was playing on bad side of 4 on 2, with a lower level bot / weapons, I was having more competitive play. Not saying more gold, or more wins, was just more fun and more random. In regular games it was 9 times out of 10 was a lose, here it's more like 6 or 7 times out of 10. Whatever it is, it's doing better for me, although don't really matter as long as I'm having fun. Always losing is never fun, but I can handle losing 2 / 3 of the time. I don't get why you needed to tank when your win rate was 10% (if I understand this post correctly) or the 25% you alluded to in your earlier post in this thread. Seems like that would have pushed you down in the leagues on its own. -Amid

But, to be fair, Leagues doesn't take that into account anymore. I wouldn't mind a 1.2k variance matchup if I actually had the metal to back it up!!

@eyepfreely I run between 48 to 60 on win rate. At 52 right now. I don't know anything about the Leaver que except the stories from the forum.
I must say that since they turned it on last week, in my opinion MM has improved a great deal. 6v6. It has been a rare occasion that I have not seen anybody fighting hard to win. If we win I don't always get gold. But do manage to get MOC quite often, even with my heavies. My strategy changes dramatically going against them. I try to do what I can for the win. Sometimes, I even come out on top.
For me this has brought the fun back. Even if I look across and see some of the names I have seen for a very long time.
Have already had had a lot of good battles, tonight or early morning or today, screw timezones.?

xlwasp on Android I run level 9 bots about half of my weapons are 10. Gold II there. I do see some strange things at times. I have made Gold I a couple of times. Only to get knocked back down. I guess when you get old and set in your ways, you only look forward. So I keep leveling up my weapons to help me get there. I started at the very bottom of Gold III and by, not this month, but the end of next month I fully expect to be in Diamond. Has taken me almost 10 months to get here on this campaign.

That's why I have been playing for almost 2 years. I enjoy the game. And your right others can do what they want. I would never say otherwise. The way I do it, is fun for me.

I don't get the % they have on the screen, meaning I don't believe them. It will also state I'm at (just examples haven't looked at it in weeks, just play to play usually) 45% then I lose 50 in a row without a win and somehow I'm still at 45%......In the past 3 weeks I've lost 90% and yet percentage stays about the same. You know how I can tell you're full of 「dookie」?

Oh well, none of it really worries me or concerns me. I generally come on this board for the laughs because I really have hard time understanding the seriousness people put into it. I play HEAVY and I love the game, but it's just that a game. If everyone else wants to tank then go ahead, if someone wants to club go ahead, that's your prerogative. Do I lose some more, sure. Have I spent money on the game so....yes I have and it's to enrich my playing experience, not what league I'm in or my %, it's to have fun....... If you have a string of 50 wins and losses that come out to a percentage and you play a match you bump the oldest match off the list. If you lose and you replace a loss for a loss on the list your percent will stay the same.

"Think whatever you want, as I said in past its a game everyone getting all worked up think what you want, play how you want, skip maps, tank, club....its a game...so if you believe or not don't really care"
By tanking and clubbing you ruin the game for OTHERS. That is not fair and should be punished. People who bail out of the game so that they can go either in the leaver's queue or to go to lower tiers for easier pickings should not be able to acquire neither silver nor gold until they have either played enough games or else gone up back to higher tiers (as an example if you were an expert and you ditch back to recruit you can only start making gold and silver again when you reach one level lower than expert (diamond or whatever)

Just start going after Medal of Capture as your single purpose in the game.
This means, remove every heavy bot except Rhino (for its speed), and maybe Lancelot (for capping certain centre beacons in suicide assaults). Replace with fast (L9 for max speed) beacon cappers: the few fastest mediums, and the best lights.
Then just play the game to your full ability, with MoC as your only goal. It's a whole different game compared to the heavies bashing each others.
Your gold rewards should increase as soon as you get into the beacon capper mindset. And you will rapidly drop down in leagues to a level where playing is fun again, unless you manage to keep a 60%+ win rate (which would be great, lots of beacon gold, but very unlikely).
Of course upgrade smartly, as you will want to return to your heavies at some point, 1-by-1 or all at once, for example when you start having L12 weapons to try in them.
What makes this especially fun is, you will have many very exiting matches, because damage-wise blues will be handicapped by you quite often. So, often it comes down to, can you maintain the beacon lead, and keep the reds running to flip beacons back, so blues won't mech out before red bar depletes.

I'd gladly wait a needed 30-90s for a more balanced match. Granted, for newer players they may not appreciate the wait. But I'm sure most of us level 30s are more interested in a balanced match! You partially touched on it but the system is still balanced around your participant field and reducing the selection process. It mostly comes down to A. How many people close to you in league points are playing right now and B. How long will we wait before widening the search field. Depending on what method pixonic has chosen to go about building a match there will be variation but the concept and its effects are the same. If you pay attention to the wait timer you will notice that longer waits GENERALLY (not always) produce more imbalanced teams. It can take time but you can effectively narrow your search window by simply backing out of the match finder after a time and restarting it. From my testing on IOS the system does not hold your search query in short memory so it puts you at the end of the line even if you flip out and back in quickly. While this is not an amazing fix it should help you get more focused matchs at the expense of longer wait times. Unfortunately we won't ever be seeing variations in match searching because this is only a mobile game of 10 minute matchs. The shorter time frame combined with the more unstable player base (face it most people who are playing mobile are not dedicated like console or PC) means that the room for error and deviation is much higher and bigger mistakes don't ruin the overall experience, just 10 or so minutes of it. Whether or not you agree with this (I personally don't) doesn't matter because this is the way it works and at the end of the day effort is destribited based on overall net gain not concentrated happiness. I hope this helps you! -sacred
