I play Battle of Titans on occasion. A bit slow, but at least it is balanced.

I also play Into The Dead 2, it's pretty fun, especially once you get a sizable arsenal under your belt.
Though it's not exactly a traditional shooter since you're essentially only able to turn left and right while the game runs forwards automatically.

Ok. Come with gus now, on a journey through space and time. I don't even know how old it is now, but I used to play a 'discipline' shooter by Sierra called Swat 3. The previous Swat games were 'top-down' 2D games, but this was full 3D and awesome. You ran a team - you with 4 'swatbots', 2 red, 2 blue - conducting a raid on a building or site. Great range of commands to give your guys. Stack 'red' on a door, waiting for a 'go' call, then take 'blue' to recon other entries. Lots of non-lethal options, alongside the AR-15s and shotguns, and a clear incentive to at least try to take the mark alive. Kill a civilian - immediate fail. You get the top score when you take them alive, secure all weapons and remove all civilians. On top of this, the thing that made this game so tense was - you died soooo quick. One shot can take you out, so when you bust through a door, you better be switched on. Flashbangs and smoke can help, but nothing was 100% effective. Anyway, probably not what you were looking for, but a game that had an impact on me. Half-Life was good too.

i think my favourite shooter besides war robot is apex legends. it has a lot of different characters. it's incredibly great, the amount of abilities these characters have and the unique mechanics. i've played about 200 hours of apex and i'm not going to stop because i really like it as an alternative and a break from war robot. upd:I've been up for 4 rank(now iam platina) now, I got some tips for it here

wrmechanoid01 Ive played a lot (A LOT) of different shooters and none compare in smoothness to Call of Duty Mobile (Codm), and Modern Combat Versus (Mcvs) With the former, I still feel that when it comes to battle royale, Codm is not as smooth as Pubg mobile, which is really odd because all their other modes are so fluid. Its like they used totally different code for the battle royale. The latter is an epic cyborg fps with each agent having their own unique skills and guns. Its a way better design than Apex Legends for example, in many ways, and the visuals are off the charts. AL is not smooth, too cartoony, and there are lots of hackers. Besides, AL battle royale is, like Codm br, not as smooth as Pubg if you are wanting a br experience. Ive played Codm since it came out, and Mcvs since the very early days. Nothing else Ive tried has compared, so I stick to them and never get bored.

Borderlands franchise on XBox
Titanfall 2 has some real merit. You can even play a PvE mode so you don't get shwacked by pimply-faced boys all the time. :-)

I play Battle of Titans on occasion. A bit slow, but at least it is balanced. Balanced? Ha ha, good one. Ive played BoT since the early days of the closed beta. They do not have a large enough player base to make the player pool balanced, but, if you are skilled you can definitely outplay stronger opponents, so I can agree to it being balanced in that way.

Yup. That’s what I meant by balanced. The ability to use skill and have a positive outcome. Not necessarily the teams or games so much.

Also im disappointed in myself for not mentioning titanfall 2 I like hawken and the gundam War Robots style fps too Apex is nice sometimes And meet your maker is pretty fun though theres very little actual content because its less than a year old and a live service game and they dont start really pumping out new content for the first year or two usually
