What's the coolest not entirely combat related thing you have done in the air?
It doesn't have to be with an air robot either!
Ever flown a Hover for 10 minutes straight in a free for all match?
Ever teleported and landed on someone in the air?
Ever gotten an Ao Ming to have that landing glitch where it's walking in the sky?
Ever used a Minos to cross the entirety of one of the longer maps like Springfield?
Ever made a Railgun and launched a robot across the map? (Usually using Minos)
Ever done a Super Dash Jump and then been launched by a Minos or landed on someone in the air?
Ever landed on top of an enemy on purpose mid match and killed them?
Ever had a 1v1 under the map?
How high have you ever gotten? (Not drugs) Have you even seen the top of a beacon?
Have you ever kept a non-flying robot in the air with a flying robot?
Have you ever dodged fire while flying?
Ever had a dogfight 1v1 with 2 Fafnirs with missile weapons?
Ever flown over a ledge and had an enemy Revenant teleport to you only to fall to their death?
Ever been under the hidden spots in the maps, like under carrier's wings, on Castle's ledges and under its bridges?
Ever been outside of a map and on the extended map around it?
Ever gone skating on the map roof?
Ever been under Abyss's lava and flown around under the main section?
Ever landed on the satellite dish in Valley map?
What cool things have you done in the air?

Just about nothing. I don't typically use flying mechs much.

It’s always fun when you maneuver an Ao Ming behind a piece of tall cover that protects you but also lets you shoot, so you can rain unparalleled firepower with little concern for being insta-killed. Shenzen and Canyon come to mind with this.

Getting a Luchador on top of the big blue roof on Shenzhen and seeing how far across the central plaza it could jump. Also weaving around buildings on that same map in a Fafnir was always a blast. I've gone away from flying bots though, and I feel like the Reapers are going to ground them all.

My Raven got blasted off the platform at Abyss hard enough to bounce off the map wall, and I just happened to have two jump charges stored up, so I was able to double-jump from midair over the pit and get back to the platform on the rebound.

Schquirrelschak needs to see this thread; I want to know what they have done in the air.

Sneaking a bsg Strider into a near-top ledge of the building directly in front of home spawn on Dead City and ambushing a couple hiding unsuspecting reds from my perch. Will never forget that! I figured out how to get up there by exploring the map alone in custom.
Another time is superdashing a Vortex Haechi off the upper ledge of Dreadnought and cover just enough distance to launch a full salvo that popped a Flux Fury. Epic memory!

Skating on map roof? Yes. My Raijin climbed the invisible building on Dead City back in the day. It's gone now… but I think I have a screenie or two somewhere

Skating on map roof? Yes. My Raijin climbed the invisible building on Dead City back in the day. It's gone now… but I think I have a screenie or two somewhere I know what you're talking about with the Rajin, but that's not skating. To skate you have to be walking on the ceiling of the map, at any part of it. To get here you need to get out of the map, go around the skybox, around the base of the roof (The map hitbox usually looks like a cube with a larger square on top of it; occasionally there is also map you can walk on outside the invisible wall). It's also called skating because some robots can't properly walk on the surface, but if they build up momentum from something like a jump then they can "Skate" across the top. They will glide in whatever direction their momentum points. *Rereads what you said* Wait Dead City? Was it the building touching the side of the map?

So when you spawn in on DC and look to your right, there's a small pile of rubble before the corner crater. Several years ago, if you walked into that rubble pile just right in a Raijin, you would begin climbing straight up in the air attached to nothing at all. While climbing, you had to keep climbing or you would slip or fall off. At a certain point though, you were on top and could move about. I saw another pilot do this and that's what got me to try. I never did quite move around up top but I climbed until I couldn't climb anymore at least two times, once with Anciles to survive the Reds trying to ruin all my fun and once with Trebs to fight back. Let me look for that screenie (which was hard to take because as soon as I took my thumb off the control I began falling).

Also all this talk of the Rajin climbing stuff reminds me of the short time where the Stalker could run up almost anything. I only saw it in a video.

This wasn’t as high as I got, again, I would slip when I went for the screenshot. But straight down from where I am was the spot. Sadly, like the wardrobe in Narnia, it no longer works for me.

I've been there, I know what you're talking about. Did you use a Hover? no i used fafinir, it has a more controlled flight. Did you disconnect or were you still in the game? If you disconnected then the Hover is one of the only robots that can fly back up to the top let alone move.
