So, I didn't watch the whole thing because I mentally shut down after she said: "To unlock the next Tier you have to get and upgrade the current Tier". I did skip ahead a bit to where she said that you don't have to max everything in the Tier and only focus on the ones you like...but...here are my initial thoughts.
So, this means that you are FORCED to spend resources on things you don't want or need instead of saving them for the really good stuff. Things like Panther and KS were great equalizers for newbies but now they can't get them until much later. Surge was the legendary equalizer in that if you managed to save 9k acoins, you got a 4 star legendary that could go toe to toe with most of the new OP stuff. Not only all that, but newbies will STILL get trounced by anyone who has played longer or has better equipment.
If MM were somehow based on what you have unlocked, so that you only faced opponents within your Tier, then this would be a good thing. But, I highly doubt that as this new progress path seems geared to forcing people to spend resources on things they don't want.

On the one hand I'm glad to hear the new progress path is on track for delivery (this summer is my guess), on the other hand it's sad that new players keep being shafted by Plarium.
And not only new players btw. We have yet to see how mid/late game players will be affected, too.
Also I didn't understand their messy explanation about the new blueprint distribution system.

I really wish we would stop getting blueprints for things we've already maxed! Or continue to get blueprints for things that are close to maxing, instead of stopping the flow when you're almost there.

Honestly I am just amazed that they are actually going to be rolling this out relatively soon. I figured when they said the new system would come out sometime after the rebalance, that it would actually be like another year+
I really do hope that they fix the extra blueprints after maxed issue. For all the delay and inconvenience, players deserve to get some actual game improvements out of this thing.

The Stars per tier by upgrading feature will be interesting. Could be geared to manipulate the player base or it might be tame and give players some control over their destinies.
I’ve considered that unlocked in the progress path doesn’t necessarily mean free. Just means ‘accessible’. I imagine there will be some level of disappointment. Sorry to be the Debbie-downer.

The video doesn't say that if you already have stuff leveled up you will get to carry over those upgrades to move up a tier. So I wonder if we now need to start at Tier 1, or if we will get credit for the progress we have already made.

There'll be riots otherwise 😂 This also squares up with their claim that items already unlocked in the progress path won't be locked up again. |
