So my oldest son's birthday is coming up Monday. He made the mistake of telling my very creative and quirky wife that he didn't care what went on top of the cake. Somehow she decided that it would be "an exploding Spongmonkey."
For those that don't know what a Spongmonkey is, it's a truly horrific testament to the wonders of the early days of the internet.
I find the whole thing disturbing. It was like watching a car crash: you just can't turn away. Anyway, she's still in the midst of working on it. A fair amount to go, but it's so amazing, I had to take a picture and share.  |

TiL Quiznos lied to me, never knew this Rathergood Spongmonkey was the OG OP to this feverdream from my yeaster-youth.

Spongmonkey is complete.
Once that was finished, she got the idea of having chickens worship it. Truly bizarre. She said, "That boy will never decide on a cake without figuring out what he wants on it ever again."
She is now making chickens. Four are complete.
Oh man, that is so cool. I hadn't met the spongemonkeys, so thanks for that, but that decoration is brilliant! Exploding you say? I guess? Apparently, she got candles that look like small sticks of dynamite and other explodables.
She said a moment ago............."you know, I could make them look angry. Should I make them look angry?"
My response was, "Whatever makes sense to you, babe."
Her: "We're way past anything making sense, honey."
She's right. I'm not the visionary for this spectacle, though.

That is gonna be the coolest cake. Nice thread Poopface I'm not so sure about "cool." Disturbing? Yes. Entertaining? Probably. Cool? I dunno. We'll see what comes next. She wrapped up at 12:30 last night and will revisit it once she wakes up.

I think she did awesome! That looks like a cake my sis would get for my bday. Its a running gag now going on 12 yrs, a crazy funky off the wall bday cake.
