Received this offer this morning. Thoughts? Really surprised he’s that cheap already.  Not gonna lie, it’s tempting. But I think I’m gonna pass. I’ve got a low level Gatecrasher, and a recently purchased Tengu which got the nerf hit with the meta shift. Not sure I wanna pat Plarium on the back. Plus I think Plarium’s gonna start rewarding the players who push upgrades with packs and acoins and that’s very rarely been me. I suspect that by the time I get stuff battle ready the meta will have moved on. On a side note, I think Ares should be renamed War Fairy. Very situational now. Fine if I face off against light mechs. DOA against a lot of stuff now. His shield just gets wiped away. |

I think that is a special St. Patty Day offer. I'd get him, if just for the A-Coins from Specialization Sprees. Just 300 AC for 99¢ is a good deal and it'll be in the spree rotation for a while. It will be a bit annoying getting the coins tho. Bastion is only good when at the top ranks. Still Ares is weak now and this is super cheap, so I'd say go for it.

What?? I just paid $20 for it! At R3 of course and I also splurged for an upgrade pack (but won't use it til Dev Derby or other task requires it).
As for doing the Spree...I'm gonna pass. Yes, it's 300 A-coins but the tasks are going to be especially brutal for an underleveled Bastion.

The two problematic tasks for an R3 Bastion are the 15 Control Points and 21 MVPs. Post-update so many of the bots spawned at the start are slow, tanky mechs (which are huge - everyone enjoying getting stuck behind those now?) so you can definitely get an initial beacon or on the right map two, but not much after yhat. The other tasks are easy-peasy though. I would equip a RM12 and see how that works for the MVP tasks as well as the others. That might be the ticket to getting it done fast. This time around I did the upgrade tasks instead of MVP, but I had bps saved up.

This was sound advice, so I split the difference. Since it was .99 I went for it, but I’m holding off on purchasing BPs. Take that Plarium. (I’ve only purchased BPs for my Stalker -which didn’t fare well with the meh and weeping grade/upgrade new meta) I’m getting through the tasks ok. The MVP one will be the biggest hill to climb. The .99 Bastion is only level 2/8EN, lol. I’ve got it outfitted with a Jav. |

I'm posting about this in the post-update meta thread but FYI I am finding my DL12 Stalker is still one of my best mechs. It actually became my top mech for today's FFA map, overtaking my Panther EMR16 (☉｡☉)! |

As much as I tried I couldn’t get finish the Bastion MVP task, but I dumped so many gold crates on the event that I ended up getting the BPs needed to upgrade and go up a rank.
