I had recently mentioned the possibility of getting Brickhouse before the new changes took effect ; but now it looks like he could be a viable mech to use before the dust has settled - and A-Coins can be invested wisely. At least for those like me, whose hangars have greatly suffered from the lopsided modifications in stats and matchmaking... I'll recapitulate my arguments below : - This is a Legendary mech, which has therefore nicely benefited from the overall HP buffs.
- He costs "only" 900k credits, meaning it's readily available and won't be a costly mistake.
- Pairing him with a Neymar pilot virtually eliminates one of his two drawbacks : slow speed. (The other being huge size).
- Starting directly at 18 energy, he is readily usable with such good weapons as dual DL8, AT12+6, or a combination of EM rifles (e.g. dual EM8, or EM10+8).
- His ability to provide +50% damage to Legendary or Epic weapons, at base level without implants, should be precious in fighting against other Legendary mechs - especially maxed out Bastions.
I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on my primary account. Which I already did on the secondary one, but my hangar is so low powered that I can't get a realistic understanding of how Brickhouse will perform at mid- to end-game. (Also it'd be a good opportunity to use that Legendary cosmonaut skin which I never had any use for 😂) Has any current owner of Brickhouse dusted him off to see how he fares in combat, perchance ?

I don't have Brickhouse but I would wait a couple of weeks before getting it. The AI is making it look decent but the test will be humans and they have yet to adjust their hangars or tactics. Also they seem pretty vulnerable to DLs.

In my case it's the humans who prompted me to look up to Brickhouse 😅 I can recall a guy's Panther with dual DL12s chomping my poor Ares (albeit ranked at 6-star). But you do well to point out the vulnerability to DLs. I suspect the big size of the mech, will offer a greater surface to DL Radius effects.

I've thought about it too but here are my cons:
- only 24EN max - slow speed even with Neymar (IMO I like using Neymar to make fast mechs faster) - huge hitbox so corner shooting is problematic, especially against maxed DL12 Stalkers. - slow turning speed so getting flanked means doom
As for builds, I'm thinking CB12 would be a good fit. Normally I would also say AT12 but getting into range can be problematic and AT12 is better served on mechs that can capitalize damage with it, like Surge. CB12 got a buff, and it's old, so many of us probably have it rusting in inventory and can dust it off. Use the first Neymar, the one that has Assault and Missile buffs and you should do alright. MR12 might also be a good build if you have the right implants.
As for me, I'm looking for an alternate max 32EN mech now that my Paragon is seriously nerfed thanks to this update. Can't complain too much as I had a ton of fun screwing with people who thought my Paragon was an easy kill. My DL16s will likely sit on the shelf for a while now as I rock the DL8 on either Shadow or Redeemer for a bit. I do have Redox and Arachnos but don't really like either alternative. I also have Gatecrasher and it might be viable thanks to it's speed.

Carbines may also be worth a try for those who have them. I'd say go for it.

Another thought on potential weapons for Brickhouse : mortars.
Yes, this should be obvious, but not many people used this mech as a platform for mortars anymore. My sightings of such a configuration have been exceedingly rare in about two years of playing this game.
More precisely, seeing how mortars have remained effective weapons, Brickhouse could be used as a secondary mortar carrier. I main Panther as my dual RM12 holder, but realised that I might gain additional firepower through recycling my RM8s on Brickhouse. His damage boosting ability would be put to good use.
It's even better in the case of people who got a spare RM10 lying around.

I had missile racks on him with a about 59% boost to damage from pilot etc. It's just too vulnerable to the newly boosted weapons. It did Okay but its not something to work to get. I may try Javs 8 and 12 on him next.

Pixonic often used frustration effectively enough to manipulate the player base.Coupled with the desire to stay competitive, it reaped them 🤑🤑🤑 . It’ll be interesting how the player base responds. I’m preparing myself for disappointment.
