Figured it was only a matter of time. Not sure how great it'll be for endgame. Javs still fire too slow. But it could be good for picking off entrenched opponents on certain maps. And I imagine it'll be annoying as heck in CPC.
Heard on Discord that Onyx is supposed to be a 32EN mech whose ability is shooting a salvo of four rockets. Initial language made it sound like the health was middling and the speed slow. I was thinking that FFA would spawn a meta of tanks and 32EN mechs, sounds like it'll fit right in with that.

🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Wow. Love Javs. Wonder what their specs will be and how it’ll affect play?
Not sure if I’ll need them considering I consistently run a Jav8 Shadow. A Jav4/12 Shadow sounds weird.

Grabbed these images off a test server video. Jav12 sports 4 missiles. Looks like Onyx will have the same HP as Guardian and the same speed as Ares.

Apparently there is even meaner on the horizon. Jav16s! Scape211 just posted a screenshot from the Onyx release video, that shows Jav16s in the weapons list.

Ok, now I’m getting decidophobia. I just recently purchased/leveled RM12s due to their effectiveness only to have a silent nerf hit em and now it looks like Jav16s will give ‘em a run for their money.
I’m getting that ‘only the early adopters are blessed’ feeling that War Robots used to vex me with. 😒

Plarium is putting out new stuff every week now. I won't be able to keep up with that since I'm way over my MA budget already. Any thoughts on this flood of content, other than Plarium making $$$?

I’m getting that ‘only the early adopters are blessed’ feeling that War Robots used to vex me with. 😒 Yeah it's getting more annoying, but it's also always been like that. When Railguns first came out for instance. There is always 1-2 weapons & mech combos that are just more effective than the rest. I try resign myself to losing against higher spenders but making sure my overall tournament earnings are still efficient. Forest vs the trees I guess. I don't like the RM12 nerf, which probably benefits my hangar at this point, because of what it does to newer and f2p players. But they are still good weapons. They don't earn quite as fast as they used to, but you still can rack up 500 point games on a regular basis. This silent nerf stuff is a bad new trend, but weapons hold their value pretty well long-term (mechs less so). They actually just buffed Railguns with the thicker beams making hits easier now. Anyway, I'm apprehensive but I'm taking a wait and see attitude. Kinda don't see Javs replacing RMs given their range and that they have a harder time hitting, although both Jav16s and 12s worry me. They could be a pretty big counter to EMRs which is still a pretty young meta. Javs need speed so I'm guessing that Gatecrasher will be the choice mech for the 16s. The idea of 12s on a Redeemer is not one I want face. Also, kinda nervous about folks mixing 16s and 8s and running 3 Jav builds in a hangar. But I think pilots and implants will be a chokepoint on that. DLs are too effective to switch over than many guided weapon pilots to Javs.

You make some salient points in your post. Weapons do tend to maintain their value and usefulness in the game, especially compared to War Robots. I agree that salient nerfs, while rare, are disconcerting. I’d rather have more transparency from developers and would certainly like Plarium to avoid the release and nerf cycle that made me give up on War Robots. That’s one thing I’ve appreciated about MA. That said, EMRs are just OP enough that I’m afraid Plarium’s going to need to release even stronger content to make things sell. It’ll be interesting to see how Railgun 12s fare with the player base comparatively.

Plarium is putting out new stuff every week now. I won't be able to keep up with that since I'm way over my MA budget already. Any thoughts on this flood of content, other than Plarium making $$$? I wonder if the rate of new content is a development issue or an accounting/management issue. As you point out, the rate of new content releases has been swift for sure. As long as new stuff is relatively balanced I think I’ll be ok with it. It’s when new content is disproportionately better than what most of us have and gives you thenI-gotta-have-it-too-succeed feeling that believe they’ll be a problem. EMRs, which I have yet to acquire, are starting to give me that feeling. Players with ~ 3500 are whipping me (5000sp) with 30+ kills easily. Then again, all the players without Orions and DL Stalkers might feel the way I do. It’ll be interesting to see how Bastion affects the tank meta. I’m not the biggest tank fan and so far a satisfied with the quality of play I get from my Ares. (Plus, I’ve just got a Gatecrasher to play with.) I think the saving Grace in the game is that for most of us, most of the time, our competition is AI based. I wonder what we’d all be saying if we were routinely competing against whales armed with content stuck behind a paywall.

I predict this will be a popular build this year: It's gonna be a PITA to deal with. Jav 8 I can manage with my Ares, but Jav 12 (and 16 !) will be a different game... Perhaps this will make Aegis more relevant.

Are AI using Aegises now? 🤔

Well, I've always loved the Javelin Racks, so I'm stoked. Sheesh, I didn't know about the silent nerf to RMs and I was wondering why I wasn't killing anything anymore. What did they do? Shrink the blast radius or something or change the flight trajectory?
The Onyx looks wicked and reminds me of the Warhammer mech from Battletech/Mechwarrior or the Destroid from Macross.

The seem to have shrunk the impact radius. I guess they never officially listed what it was before in the stats. Then in in mid-December or so they did and it is now 6m, which is definitely smaller than it used to be. The gold implant gives a 66% boost at max but that just makes it 10m. Hitting anything near a tall building is a lot harder now, so avoid those shots. Putting them on a Stalker helps too, but a DL Stalker can rack kills a lot faster, so it doesn't seem worth the bother.

It’ll be interesting to see how Railgun 12s fare with the player base comparatively. I don't know what to make of RG12s. I like my 16 but it's kind of hard to see the 12s being that great except maybe on an Orion. I could see the potential future nerf to EMRs being on the aiming side. They hit really easily now. Railguns have always been harder to aim. This thicker beam buff should help - I actually haven't tried it out enough yet to be sure. Anyway, I think I am going to hold off the RG12s for now. Javs look a lot more attractive.

Yeah, I've been trying to go for the 46m hits on my KS with the RM12 as much as I can. I get better results that way. Still, I pretty much have shelved the RM12 except for TDM farming anyway. I've been running AT12 on my KS in order to level up Myna and it's been a blast.
As for RG12, I doubt I will even consider it. The EM12 already outperforms it. I'm definitely eager for the JR12. I simply don't have the skill to go head to head against other players so it's best that I keep out of sight and use non linear weapons.
