Please understand that what I am trying to acheive here IS NOT tanking. So I know there are people like milty72 and Cdr. Crimmins who intentionally just chill out in the lower leagues, and I think I should do that as well lol. After not playing for a couple weeks, I have found myself longing to play the game, but in a weird way. Not missing my meta MK3 hangar, but missing the fundamentals of War Robots, the tactics and certain builds which I never even ran. I have never piloted a Leech or Phantom on the live server, or Raven (at all) and I just want to be able to run any robot with any build and come up against any robot with any build, not just Seraph and Angler. So, how do I go about getting myself from 6000 rated champion league to say, Expert III or Master III? Where do I even go in the league system to meet my requirements of a peaceful coexistence with this game? I already have duplicates of most bots so I'd essentially restart the game from whatever league, and just try to stay down there running a variety of builds and bots. If I cannot achieve this, then I guess my semi-retirement might have to become permanent. Any tips? Also, there is no way I'm using the level 1 Cossack method because that is just a 「wee-wee」 move.

The real issue here is that as you drop leagues, your winged cups will act as your Mark of Cain to trigger an increasing number of reports against you. The easiest solution is to create a Smurf account and level cap or tier cap it's gear so that you naturally top out at a lower league. That's my strategy. I'm not chilling in the lower leagues, I'm actually as high as I can get with the gear I have available playing hard every time. The hangars around me tend to be 4 levels or so higher or more than mine. I mean, sure, not the Mk3 Vityazes but they honestly aren't the threat you would think they are…. Heh.
As long as the Mk3 gear is in your garage, you will look like a tanker. A buddy of mine sold everything he has that is 6Pack illegal, everything, and now any reports against him for his winged cups run up against the fact that everything he owns is from 2016 and is at 1.6. That's a pretty extreme move and why I think a Smurf account might work best for you.

To pilot Phantom/Raven effectively, you want to be Diamond or lower. To get there, you just have to equip young hanger and just lost the next 30 matches, trying to come 5th or 6th.

Just play with what you want and see where you end up, leagues mean nothing, just sticks that lack carrots!

I miss the simpler play of a few years ago and find I`m getting more and more fed up of trying to keep up with all the constant new OP stuff. But, then every time I try to reuse the older more fun stuff I end up doing really badly and then getting really frustrated with that. I`d like to go back to how it used to be before getting to Champs but not sure I`d have the drive to start at the beginning and do it all over again from scratch and don`t even know if/is it possible to create another account on the same device without it automatically linking to Game Centre and your existing account?

Yeah, to me, tanking means you've gotten yourself into lower leagues and then you switch back into your meta 「dookie」 and start whoopin'. Playing with the bots and gear you want and not chasing around results is just playing, and let the matchmaker put you where you end up. I was in Champs with my hangar for a while, but since I don't chase the meta (I think the newest bot I've got and actually play with routinely is a Typhon), I've been solidly in M2/3 for a while now and I'm happy enough with that.

If one wished to manage their relative league location without souring the gameplay; would the following qualify as 'league-location-management' ... or simply tanking?
Remove all damage buffs and increase the chaos factor via speed in your hangars: You can keep your meta bots and weapons but no damage or repair moduals and no drone use.
(TL;DR NO CRACK) 1.) Swap out any immune/ Repair/ nuclear amplifiers and replace with Nitro units and jump mods. The increase in speed keeps the flow of play fluid without obnoxiously insta-stacking heals or damage multipliers.
2.) No drones.
3.) No healing mothership
4.)No Trixie usage. Give the PC-crack-dealer-lady the night off.
For those who are currently and those who have been through the meat grinder of masters and low Champs over the last few years; would the above stratagem seem reasonable to 'quietly-quit' the Meta for 30 matches to filter down to a lower league?
Once you find your happy place, have the integrity to resist the urge to seal club with mk3 stuff and instead start playing YOUR game now without the presure of the meta dictating your playstyle.
That which makes the meta a monster to those players who do not possess it is tempered with the removal of stackable heals and damage buffs for the sake of speed and your ability to control it. (so many hilarious 'oops...overshot' moments on carrier and Castle)
Does this make sense or am I just an overthinking-over-caffinated-nutter-in-a-squirrel-suit flying a Hover?

Pixo like to bedazzle players with new bots etc, to distract players from learning any nuance in the game. Granted there is not a lot of it but it's there. However you will run in to tankers in just about every game down in the lower leagues or MM 「fluffernutter」s you. When I started this account I ran bots that I wanted to run and for the most part stuck to it. Taking out a meta red with a non meta bot is fun. Good luck!

When I ran my 4th Every Bot War, it lasted 89 matches. 32 were ruined by Tankers/Clubbers but the remaining matches were legit. So that's 36%.

I'm just poor so I'm always a small player. I have a few meta robots, weapons, and pilots in storage because I know I will never get the money to upgrade them. I mainly use my Ares, but what good is that against everything that counters it(A whole lot)? I've only ever been in champion league once, and it was during the Storm/Ravana age. I was countering them with A Freedom Hussar, a Marquess, an Arbalest, and a Tulumbas, left to right. The Ao Jun was pretty powerful, but a worthwhile challenge; we could both kill each other. That was a good time, but I thought it was a bad time; it was hard to outsmart 600 meter invincibility, and I had to try.
In current day, I wish I could go back there more than ever. I actually spent 300 rounds about tanking down to the bottom of masters, but by then the Hawk was out, and even then it was ruining my game. I inevitably went up to expert and Masters, and over the next 2 years I dropped back down to expert; just for being weak. Every time there's a new best I'm still suffering from the old, until it's nerfed. Now I'm suffering from the old and the new.
I don't know if there's a good place to go back to, but I guess Pixonic made that choice for us.

Every now and again I do a reboot and start over, just to see how the new “game” evolves.

I agree with what was said above regarding starting a smurf account. If you want to avoid any and all baggage from your Champion League career, that is the way to go. But, if you want to stay with your main account and are okay with getting some heat about it, you don’t have to go all the way down to Diamond or Expert for life to get better. I’m in Master III, and from what I hear, what I see is far better than what full Champion players get. Plus, if you ever feel like cutting loose a bit, you could still get away with a mark three meta bot or two in your hangar without being reported to the moon and back. So if you want to keep some of the faster-paced play of Champion League without being forced to be a meta slave, consider coming down to Master III!
I also gotta say, this thread feels kinda surreal since you were dead-set on Champion League a few short months ago. It seems the game finally gotten to you, for better or for worse. Welcome to the depressed veterans club my friend!
