Quick backstory - I’m totally F2P, don’t pay for anything. I also stopped playing for about a year. But I’m back and dropped from low Champs to Expert 3. So much changed while I was away and I just can’t compete with the P2W. So I’ve decided to build a vintage hangar, ‘cause it’s cheaper to buy and cheaper to upgrade (with Ag). The backbone of my hangar is a Mk 2 Falcon T w/ Mk 3 Avenger and a L10 Weyland w/ twin Avengers, one Mk3, one L11.
So do you good folk have any ideas about what vintage bots and weapons I should add to my hangar to be competitive at Masters level? Is it even possible? Vintage bots and weapons are unlikely to get nerfed so they should last better over time.
My thinking is to build virtually indestructible bots, so that they’ll survive the maelstrom that War Robots has become. Also what are the best modules to add when I have the gold to buy them.

i love my weylands. sorry, first off, welcome back. second, i am a spider guy, so i love invaders/arachnids, etc. Have the whole collection of spiders, and recently have been making an all weyland hangar. that said, for both active weylands I have now, I went with max punchers, but i had great success with calamities and avengers before. i run 2 maxed Repair amps, and a max Nuclear amp. Most of my bots have a nebula drone, except for one that has the whiteout drone.
go big or go home!! a vintage hangar is an awesome idea.

Fenrir with Bernadette Wolff still does well against all the new magic super bots.

Trixie in a 2.12 radiation Hover w/ RA, NA, IA + Nebula is a airborne scalpel that can make it to hell and back for bacon.
Worth every bar of Au, just like Rogs and Menders

Gotta have a Raven. And if you're really wanting to be vintage, a Strider or Leo.

Good gravy if this guy is Vintage that must mean I'm running Neolithic hangars. XD
Welcome back! I love the idea but will leave the advice on how to try to hang in Masters to the experts. Not the Experts. The experts. Uh, I think I've explained myself. Maybe.
Because I'm in Diamond and my advice, given the crippled rules I play by, would be worthless.

As has been already said, what “vintage” means differs from person to person since this game is so stinking old now. Run what you like and if it works, it works, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

Thanks folks, lots of good ideas here. You’ve made me think about the term vintage too. I started playing back in 2016 and have gone through a whole range of bots but learned with each update the divide between F2P and P2W gets bigger. As I said, lots to chew on here, hope to make the old guard proud in time to come. 🫡

chuckles. Don't let Crimmins intimidate you Chinggis. He's just here to make us all feel young again Trad Falc is a great option (the original 'dedicated' tank), and with an Avenger, I don't think anyone is going to be left wondering. I've never run a Weyland, but always respected those that did. Sounds like you know what you're doing. Keep us updated yeah? and, of course, welcome back.

Old school Thunder, Glory, Calamity, Redeemer, Pulsar, Wasp, Corona, Ballista, Magnetar, Magnum have all held up well & are cheap (compared to new items). Fenrir, Invader, Falcon, Raven, Mender, Hover and Leech are all still very workable even in todays meta. I would say focus mods, drones and pilot skills. The changes made to the game are effected most in those 3 things and make the difference more than just meta & non-meta. As far as motherships, I prefer Orion or Northlight over the older & newer ones.

I just started playing again after leaving War Robots for 2 years. I don't even remember how to use my Titan, so I'm learning the game all over again. So a vintage hangar is what I've got and will use for now. How do I figure out the drones and other mech buffing items? How do they work? I will search youtube but thought I'd ask here. I played a game today and did just 300k damage with my hangar versus 1.5 million for my teammates. Before playing I want my hangar to do better than 300k or so. Any help much appreciated.

Drones are essentially mini-robots that you select alongside your bot when dropping a bot. Their menu is accessed by the hangar deck selection screen, which brings you to your (up to) 7 drone hangar. Drones have a special ability, along with chip slots to equip 1 of 6 chips types: A (status effects), B (damage boost), C (resistance boost), D (healing), AC (gives the drone its own weapon), and F (lets the drone give the bot a shield when taking damage). Every drone has different abilities and chip slot combinations, with more expensive drones generally having better abilities and more numerous chip slots. Chips can be bought in the chip store, won through daily tasks, event chests, or the Black Market, or can be obtained through combining chips of a lesser rarity. That’s the basic idea of drones, but if you have more specific questions, feel free to ask!

Dude, since you left the game pix has heaped 1000 tons of new content on us. If you want to last in the current game you are def gonna need decent drones with decent chips, as well as decent leveled modules, regardless of bot or weapons. GL!

I even had a shirt made with Fenrir on it. Have War Robots mechs gone missing at times, maybe because of updates? I see it is still in the store, for 10,000 puzzle pieces or something. I did put one of my Falcons in an active hangar. They were ģreat back in the day. Also how do I drop my Titan? I think mine's an Arthur. Thanks for the replies.

Sometimes stuff gets shuffled around for some users but nothing is actually lost. If you indeed did lose anything that you swear you did not sell yourself, you can take it to Pixonic support, but unless you have direct evidence of their existence (screenshots, videos, etc.), it will be very difficult to convince them to credit you with anything.

Where is deep storage? I just checked my two hangars.
In your hangar, click on a robot. Then click on the button "CHANGE ROBOT".
The screen will change to your inventory, or "deep storage".
