So, you know those annoying chats from the system when someone wins something? I always thought it was rigged. Apparently not as there was a system message that said "Koalabear won EM16" right after I pulled the EM16.
I didn't pull it right away. It was 650 Acoins and at first I was like "no way". But, something told me to do it so I did. I think I was still a bit hungover from last night... I hit the button and BOOM! 375 Acoins! Ugh...awful return! So I said, hell with it and pressed it again and BOOM, EM16!
Tried it on one game so far and I really don't like it. Sigh... It's a true sniper weapon and while I have it paired with a RG16 for now, these two weapons do not mesh well. I doubt I will grind for the Specialization Spree either. The tough task would be to kill 15 mechs with it and I barely managed 2 in a TDM match against AI.
Initial thoughts... like I said, it's a true sniper gun. Even the LA is more versatile. I use RG16 on my Guardian and it's kind of a mid to short range all-rounder. I can use it to clear an area or sniper from mid range. The RG16 doesn't do that well at far range but you can definitely brawl with it in a pinch. The EM... IDK, I feel with my skills, I'm better off using it on something like the Panther or even Ares where I can stand still and carefully aim at targets that have paused in their movement. I'm sure people who've used it a lot by now are able to aim and hit moving targets, but it's hard...and definitely not something you can do snap shots with.
I'm actually considering picking up the discounted Redox now as a future long term investment. I think the EM would go well with the Redox as it's ability will slow targets down enough to eliminate them when they get into brawling range.
