So, I'm on the hunt for a new mech game. One of my requirements is that the game has to be portable. I know there's some good games for PC or console, but I like playing while mobile and not tied to one place.
I did a quick search for mech games on Nintendo switch and these 3 caught my eye. They all seem to have similar mechanics and are similar to Armored Core or the very old Omega Boost on original Playstation in terms of game play. For the record, for mech games, I actually lean towards games like Mech Assault, Front Mission 3...so more ground pounder than super power flying mecha.
Here are some gameplay videos. Please let me know what you think. Right now, I'm kinda leaning towards Daemon X Machina, but it's pretty expensive. My son has a Switch Lite that he is offering to let me use to see if I want to invest in a Switch myself. TBH, I'm already leaning towards getting one for myself because he has Pokemon and the new Pokemon games are open map free roaming that look a lot of fun. Yes, he and I used to play Pokemon with him when he was younger! He of course got really into it and it was more of a casual thing for me.
