So, I’ve come across some very stout Menders since I returned to the game. These aren’t just stout when they’re healing, either.
What’s the secret? Drones with +def? Multiple Repair Amplifiers? Adamant Guardian? All the above?
A shame Bob doesn’t seem to frequent the forum any more; I’m sure he’d know.

She enables grey damage healing of you and your blue teammates. My favorite bot, I’ve posted in some of the threads the exploits of Radiation Mender. I run the build below with Beak. I switch between Beak and Nebula for my other builds (shotguns on one, green goo on another)

Thanks for the info and pictures. Interestingly enough, mine is currently a radiation one, too. 😁 I know about the healing of the grey damage. I bought the pilot and have started leveling her. What I’m trying to figure out is why some take damage very slowly compared to others. Some seem tankier than others. Almost like mini Fenrirs. Trying to sort out their secret.

Menders health pool is really low. You need to charge up that repair amplifier before charging into battle. Once it is charged up Mender can be a beast. Can still be dropped quick by overwhelming firepower out in the open, but it is beastly. And usually you’ll survive long enough to charge up the nuclear amp too, meaning in battle you’ll be 95% full time damage boost, and you can add an additional 70% if you use beak with 2x on-heal, damage chips which means you can take down most bots even with the 2 lights and the 1 medium.

That setup shawngonakillyou is nasty. We’ve faced off many times in the time drops, thing is a major pita. Great if he’s on your team, but a mean one to kill for sure. Just glad I’ve run more WITH him on my side than against. Little guy with BIG healing power, keeps him in the game just picking you apart.

EMP ruins them, so if you have a Typhon with River Chase, have teammates nearby your Erebus, or got a Murometz, you can toast them quickly after turning off their magic button. You gotta be quick and have shieldbreaker to bypass their drone shield though, as otherwise you’re both gonna be there for a while!

Get ‘em while they’re low on health and hopefully after the repair amp has burst-boosted the health bar. No reserves left at that point - and EMP can def be a prob. Gotta hope you kill ‘em cause as soon as the EMP is done, that heal is probably ready🤣

One other point for radiation mender - not the strongest beacon games build. I like the new shotguns better (need the sharpshooter skill though) for beacons and green goo is probably a tie with radiation. But for TDM, that radiation build is crazy good on Mender because of the weapons effective range. You can stay near full health keeping most enemies at 600m while killing away and healing your blues.

Makes sense. I like the option of the added range vs the other stuff I have with the shorter range.

Aesthetics of my bots are very important (maybe too much) so I'm running my little Green Meany with acid guns. My Repair Amp is L3 and once it gets charged up this thing does not go down easy. Being able to repair your teams Grey Damage is great. I like to follow a couple tanks into to fray and really play that support role. Fun bot. Pretty speedy as well once you activate its ability. Deft Survivor and True Ace are also a key skills.

Welp, its still quite nerf but coming along. Just had this match on Dreadnaught and was in the Mender the entire match.
I'm slowly chipping away at the guns and want to get the turtle closer to MK3, but don't want to push big upgrades because a) I've spent too much $$ this month, and b) I want to wait for one of the upgrade overdrives that'll cut cost considerably. I also have shotguns for a Strider that I want to push then, too.

OK, so, Peaky Blinders Tanky Menders brainstorming.... Mariender as a 3rd/4th drop to help out significantly with Titans? Trixie/Mender as a 1st/2nd drop for more brawling/solo work? I think there's some limited merit to what I'm proposing but your thoughts appreciated. shawngonakillyou

My Mariender usually comes out when blue titans start appearing. Ankle-hug where possible and keep the heal going. Not tried a Trixiender (?) so can't comment - but would love to hear your feedback on running it - Moooaaaar heals!

What level does RA need to be in order to be useful? Obviously 6 is best, but I typically don't level modules past level 2 simply because they are so expensive. Would a level 2 RA be worth anything?

Healing grey damage is key to that bots helpfulness as well as its damage capability - read on... If you are running a nuc amp on Mariender, that bots survivability with Marie’s grey damage healing will usually allow that to be charged up fully. Combine that with drone chips and you are at 95% - 165% damage boost. I’d bet with Trixie, you’d be dead before you get the nuc amp charged up and the benefits of Trixie are not outweighed by the cost IMO. I run mine with a balanced unit as well. The grey damage stack of 2 repair amps isn’t as important for Mariender, so I get a little more HP and damage from a maxed BU. There’s better choices if your trying to do damage or brawl if you want to run Trixie. I brawl in my Mariender (the shottie or goo version). The key to brawling or with late drops is to be sure you’ve charged up the repair amp before going in the open field. The benefit of a first drop is enemy fire is not usually so concentrated, so you can take light damage and get the repair amp charged up and with Marie, be back up to full health before charging into the total fray. If your repair amp isn’t charged up, you’ll get killed too fast with todays powerful weapons.

Here’s a vid of radiation mender and a bit of seraph (because I didn’t back away when I should have🤣 - you’ll see when near the end…pretty sure they were really mad at my Mender by then😂🤣🤣). A pretty good run for Mender. Watch the health bar - there were at least 3 times I should have been toast, but Mender is just the most amazing bot at coming back from the dead. Oliver Kloesov this is where I am pretty sure Trixie Mender would have perished - without the ability to heal back that grey damage in cover, all the extra healing would not keep you alive as long. Menders total health pool just isn’t big enough. Plus all the blues I was able to restore as well…Marie rules, Trixie drools (at least in Mender😋)

I've been running Nightingale with Virginia Walker and Mender side by side, and while I've got a pretty decent track record keeping my Gale alive, every time I manage a save, the grey damage is still done and it's not coming back.

I've gone for a more "tanky" build on my Mender.
1 X nitro unit 1 X repair amplifier 1 X heavy armour kit
Where it becomes super annoying to take down is with the nebula drone and 2 X at half health defense chips.
So you can heal early on, take heaps of damage then the defense chips kick in at half health, this will also trigger the deft survivor skill so you can heal again whilst running for cover (nitro unit also gets reset) and healing all your grey damage again so the defense chips can trigger multiple times .
The nemesis to this build is sonics and stupid cudgel khepris. Bendy sirens can be a pita too.

I’ve taken out sonic Khepris, but not until my nuc amp is well charged. That is a great build. I used to run Nebula exclusively and then I ran Beak a few times and was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t die as easily as I expected without Nebula. I still will run Nebula with my goo mender build, but with the damage potential on the shotgun Mender and Radiation Mender I found Beak to be a better match.

I took a screenshot of my Mariender today to highlight the degree of potential HP available between bot & shield. I'm sure it can go over 1M points easy. I remember thinking I was hot stuff when I got my Kid to 1M hitpoints.

Just had this moment on Colosseum. Those two are a Luchador and Nodens playing “ring around the roses” with me. In the end we lost, but I stayed the entire match in my Mender and the entire match on the D side of the map. My Mender has a way to go, but there’s a ton of growth potential.

I think maybe two bots dropped Northlights on us and since Marie does so well at healing up, all of the excess NL power goes into the shield. It's not necessarily the be-all end-all of survivability considering that Shieldbreaker exists, but it does encourage running around with impunity.

This is near my damage record, and definitely my damage record for a single bot. A lot of this was clearly healing because Menders firepower just isn’t that high. This was a great back and forth battle that was even the full match through - the ones we all live for…
