We have a new pilot in this month's event: Otto Schreyer, who increases the fire rate for radiation and plasma weapons...except for Magnums? His description specifically says that he works with Tarans and Redeemers, but doesn't mention our classical light plasma weapon. Has anyone confirmed this? Did Pix decide that a higher rate of pew-pew power was just too much?

Supposedly, the firing mechanic is different. Magnums don't have a reload period like everything else in those classes do (I mean, I think it's defined as "one shot - .55s reload - rinse and repeat"). You can't increase a firing rate when there's only one shot per volley.

It'd be a fantastic, high power short range weapon. |

The change probably came about because players started buying tokens, silver and gold and possibly magnums to get on the bandwagon.
With no reload times, these are now a serious meta contender, even better for bots that dont have a legendary pilot.

With no reload times, these are now a serious meta contender, even better for bots that dont have a legendary pilot. a lot of people through various mediums were hammering Pixonic to keep the Otto Magnum enhancement from what I could tell…a lot of consistent dialogue about it was happening in the official discord and reddit and youtubers also chimed in for extra pressure |

If people start loading up magnums than Pix will nerf em somehow. |

I just threw down $6 US for 36 tries to get Otto. He never even popped up as a fake choice in their 3-card Monty game. The drop rate on that guy must be absurdly low.
I want him, though. I have a Mag Khep all ready to go.

We'll get our Ottos we just shouldn't throw stupid money at the (first-world) problem. I used my creator program coins - which has confirmed I won't be spending a penny on that first chest. I'm happy to wait until next event, when they are common, to get one. I'll make a couple videos on it, then shelve it. Think of all the people who spent to get Seraph in the bingo box, now they are in the second chest and are easy to get. |

This guy would be great for Pursuer. In fact, once Yamantau finally gets released, a Blight (light radiation; I think thats its name) Pursuer will be a great side flanking sniper.

When Otto gets 4 x Magnums NA cranked-up, it’s a thing. It’s no quad cudgels but the magnums have price advantage, range, and you have to time NOTHING. Keep shooting, you’ll eventually hit something.

I actually just landed this pilot from the bronze chest, wasn't expecting it but I'll take it.
I've chucked it on a Shell with redeemer for now. Its pretty fun if you can avoid all the cudgel khepris for a while.
Ideally I'd put it on my level 9 eldritch khepri but the other 2 magnums I have are only level 1, although they are extremely cheap to level and are quick.
I'd love to see a leveled Leo with this pilot, that sounds like fun
