Pix selling MK2 bots and weapons: your thoughts!

I see your point of view and understand why you feel that way. Personally, I’m ok with it because I believe it validates what I’ve thought for a very long time. Pix is gonna Pix. Pixonic will do anything to make a buck, no matter how polarizing to the player base.  

At the same time, selling upgraded bots demonstrates how previous Pix profit schemes are less profitable. They’re having to do things the player base previously saw as unthinkable. ‘Selling fully upgraded bots when all along they’ve wanted it to take X amount of time and cost X amount to speed it up? Whoa……’ (Notice that the remarkable Khepri sales this week are for a bot that’s getting nerf-hammered soon? Pix is gonna Pix.)

 My pipe dream: Pix realizes that they’ve so poisoned the well with the player base they attempt to balance much of the existing content in the game; Mechs and weapons at least. They could still release drones, chips and pilots for the whales and wallet warriors to feast on.

Go ahead laugh at that. I do, and it’s my pipe dream.

When Pix comes up with a new money making scheme or alters the meta in such a way that irks the player base I just remind myself that War Robots is less a of a game than it is an arms race.

I agree with you but they are still pretty good deals. i got the crimson hawk deal with 4 MK2 blast guns. I have the regular hawk to lv 9 and no intention to get it up to mk2. 4 mk2 blaster is irresistible.
I have a feeling mk4 is on the way.

I kind of agree, it's almost like in order to balance the downward tanking, Pix created a way to upward 'tank'(?) too.
I'm M3/M2, and in the middle, with Mk1/Lvl9 gear, so I'll either get tanked and spanked in stereo or it could actually help dilute all the Champs I get poorly matched with...we'll see!
Eitherway, I'm a very small minnow dolphin who only spends money on the game to reward Pix when they make me happy...so not a lot at all these days. I stick to my opinion that this game has always been a lot about patience, planning and counter planning, in every sense!

That's how I see it too, making it easier for folks to play with uplevel'd bots and weapons.

The choice of what gets offered at Mk2 is interesting - a lot of bots I wouldn't touch today.

One thing about starting with Mk2 bots is that all module slots will be active, instead of having to wait because Putonic.

My situation is akin to yours:  Master 1 and MK1 / Lvl 9 for most of my gear.  My spending went from a lot (don't even ask), to zero, to now only small amounts (i.e. $10 or less) when it's something I really want and I feel has value to me.  I've only ever wanted to just have fun with this game and was fine spending some money on it (one of my few self-indulgences), but as much as I want to feel betrayed by this latest money grab, I admit that it's I who decided and continues to decide to give Pix my money in the face of a very obvious pay-to-win model.

Well it was only a matter of time before they started selling Mk2 bots but the thing that REALLY irks me is having to play against expert and champion players when im only Diamond II. WHY OH WHY do they let this happen? Are they a bunch of failed devs that they cant sort out who to put with who in Queues?

I've got 2 hangars of MK3 crap and seriously, don't care.

If it helps out someone that needs it, all the power to 'em.

If the pilot name and/or clan doesn't give away what they are packing, a minute or two in you'll find out. 

My own gameplay has basically become a schizophrenia Dr jekyll/Mr Hyde.  Ill play, cap bacon, kill stuff. But I get pushed into that zone, I am going to be the most annoying SOB in a tank spider, with another waiting to drop, AND another, AND another..... I've really taken a liking to the distraction and attention being a thorn in reds side, it gets so my team can HOPEFULLY realize hey, they are all attacking one bot, maybe we should take advantage of this and grab caps. THATS why I did what I did damnit. Game faces. 

Like >^\}VULTURE{/^<, if you’re posting those values with that level gear, you are crushing it. Everyone has crap games from time to time, but that is really good numbers.

My thoughts exactly. Who cares. Whether you buy silver to upgrade the bot to MK2 or just buy the MK2... same difference. Enjoy. 

Does it further degrade the game... sure. PIX has chosen this path to run down so if they want to jump on a freight train... Enjoy.

I am ok with it. It is cheaper in both time and resources to just buy them. Plus you get premium weapons with them too. So it probably saves you cash, if you are a spender, to outfit it.

Here’s a thought too. Maybe it is a way to “balance” more of the player base. Both in terms of power and play style. As in, you get the mk2 power immediately without waiting to upgrade which could take a month or better. And also in how a particular bot plays with certain weapons. There is an abundance of sonic kephri. So they offer the Kramola one in the offers. It gives them a way to tweak how battles are fought.

I guess it gives freedom for players - nobody is forced to buy, and if you have the cash and the desire, then everyone should fill their boots.

Personally, I dont advise spending. I am guessing the matchmaker hits everyone roughly the same. For me, a load of games getting stomped, a few where I do the stomping, and even rarer - a well balanced back and forth fight to the last second. So my view is that it doesn’t really matter if you spend or not, you will settle into this same pattern.

I suppose spend if you are really set on a particular bot or weapon that is proving too elusive,,but I dont think it is worth spending on any packs, speeding up upgrades etc. Enjoy the slow play!

Pix make enough money from the whales, and that is who they are targeting with each update and release of stupid new meta shizzle. Might part with some cashola one day if Pix do some quality of life improvements, fix matchmaking, release some new maps etc and stop their rubbish release cycle of OP stuff, nerf, rinse and repeat. Big bonus points if we could sell drone chips!!!!
