So on Tuesday and Wednesdays I don't try for the lofty perches in Tournament. I play one or two matches and take the rewards from placing near the bottom. Saves time and frustration. Well yesterday, a Wednesday, I did my usual but today I got no reward. I placed 18th. So either Plarium got wise and took away the bottom feeder rewards, or the bottom 5 never got rewards, I just always placed above 16th place. Slightly disappointed. But I did move down a level in league. So Sunday I may be in Masters and not the super grind Grandmaster level. 🤔 Oh well.

Been there too.
Tourney’s been unusually competitive as of late. It seems to take a little more effort to stay where I’d like, even in the lower standings.
Collecting victory points on Grandmaster Sunday is sometimes a chore too.

After that you're demoted without resources... |

What happened is you placed higher than 16th on Tuesday and moved up from the Novice league to Professional. If you hadn't, then you wouldn't have been demoted a league, because you'd already be in the bottom tier. Only in Novice league do you get any rewards for placing between 16-20. In the higher leagues, rewards only start at 15th place, as you need to be between 11-15 to stay in a bracket. Normally you're placing 16-20 on Tuesday, get some rewards and stay in Novice the next, where you do the same thing. So that's why it pays out twice. I'm sure if you check your Tournament history that's what you'll see. One tip, if you quit immediately after starting a match you only get 1 point, guaranteeing you'll stay in the bottom league. I do that myself on Tuesdays. That way you don't have to worry about scoring too many points. |

Top three current players in my tourney bracket (masters) today are all over 6,000 squad power. (sigh)
And I was going to do a bit of grinding for A-Coins. Those players already have triple my score. 😳

'Scuse me, got a bit carried away there ;-) I took a day off too, fell back to Novice, and then got 50 Acoins today for being 1st with like 1600 points. Easy peasy! Go for the low hanging fruit I say! |

I went straight to Grandmaster, and found the same: players with 6k hangars playing tournament. It's curious that looking at their records they don't play tournament every week, but today they're there. Probably not a coincidence that earning Acoins is one of the main activities trying to win the new pilot.
