So I used the crate rush to get some good points in the Research Event. Now I sit in 6th place. That's all very good. I am close to most players above me. Except one. He has over 30,000 points! How does anyone even get that? 😕 Does he sit and play 20 hours a day? Run his credit card balance up? What gives? This picture is from before I used the crate rush. I have about 8000 points.  |

It is ridiculous.
I opened several gold and silver crates, collected all my A-Coins and amateur crates from the whatever month-long grind-athon and burned a ton of credits on the event skins and am sitting at second. 🤯 This event rewards spenders and hoarders, early adopters and the such. Wish they rewarded us for collecting BPs. Haven’t collected those yet.
Boy, I hope I can stay top 5, but this is a long one. I expect to slide unless I’m offered great A-Coin deals. 😒 Otherwise, I’m not buying amateur and prodigy crates. ( Although, that 3 prodigy, 800 A-Coin deal. 🤔 Darn you Plarium.)
Nor do I feel like adopting graviton beams. Not my style.
I wonder what a good strategy is for these things? I’m sitting good today, but I recall that the best I’ve ever done is when I waited til the last day and hour to unload anything that counted toward points and climbed up the charts. If prizes don’t look valuable enough or that participating may even make that big enough a difference, I just keep hoarding. 😎

Yeah that's crazy!! I find these events frustrating sometimes. My current policy is: I look at the activities and if I think that the ones that give more points are good for me, I try to compete; otherwise, I just play normally and from time to time I check my place on the board.
Last time I was able to finish second but because I had a lot of crates and Acoins saved, and the event included a grinding activity. This time I think is just money 💰, even 3 Grandmaster first places will only provide 3,600 extra points.

Sigh, I don't even make it into the top 40! Outside of the last playoff I only got into the top40 once and that was like 38th. Last event the one tasks I just used RM to gain tons of points, it also having tasks that were get so many blueprints I could have done very well but that pilot for the time being wasnt important for me to go all in. I had 1300 silver crates and 150 gold crates I could have opened which would have for the first time put me in a commanding spot. Finishing in the top5 was good enough for me. All that said this playoff isnt really a playoff.. its a who spends more. Nothing about a playoff and the sense this event is acts as such. Its just another version of "tournament" that is an avenue of spending. I've watched the top person in some playoffs go into the 150k+ point range and were a level 4 player with < 400 games. There is a part of me that thinks this is all skewed purposely to get players to spend money to "catch up" to the top spots. Not convinced these are all actual players or shadow player accounts which I think we saw at one point in War Robots? |

I lurk in the discord server, and one guy mentioned how he was spending money daily to keep his spot on the leaderboard. $5-10. Not worth it. I’m finding that if I hit the leaderboard several days after the start, I have a better chance of finishing at or near the top, without having to spend money. I’m not on the leaderboard, yet. I really want that pilot. |

Sigh, I don't even make it into the top 40! Same. I was second place, for a very short while this morning, then 5th. But without a ton of resources my guess is by the end of the day I will be out of the top 40, if I'm not out already. |

Well, here I am. I was at third yesterday. I’ve spent about $21 on A-Coins that I needed, many of them already used to upgrade an Orion; both of which fed into the playoff. I’ll probably buy the 3,000 A-Coins for 19.99 today. I made a mistake and closed an A-Coin deal yesterday. 1400 for 9.99, I think. I hate those ‘by now or lose the chance’ deals. I get tap crazy when the game opens up. Morning fog doesn’t help either. Now, here’s the conundrum. I’ll certainly get diminishing returns spending more. I could’ve easily waited and purchased the pilot later with some deal and the Advance Implant Crates are often offered for 4.99-7.99. I’ve only ever purchased two of those and got nada as a result. It’s nice to hope I’d get something nice, but what are the chances? I see implant parts as free if you wait patiently and I have no interest in the graviton beam implant. If I didn’t have a bunch of weapons and mechs in queue for rank upgrades that necessitated A-Coins, I wouldn’t really be participating in the event. Both sort of coincided. Still, it’s interesting to see where the spending has me. I think I want to recommit to personal guidelines to spend on the best deals and specifically on what I want. I’ll get the 3,000 A-Coins today and I think that should be it. Then again, if I get booted from 5th place….. What have I gotten myself into?  |

This is the standings in the Playoff Event for me. Notice that the 20th place player is only 1000 points ahead of me. But Plarium says I need over 11000 points to be in top 40. Russian math? The top player is like 36000 points ahead of me. Though I really don't play more than a few matches a day now. I spend more time reading about it here and on Facebook. 😅   |

I’m gonna share this with you all because I like you guys. I’ve scored first in the last 3 events, all without paying money. It’s all about resource management and timing. From what I’ve observed from the last several playoff events, blueprints, crates, getting/spending credits/acoins, and opening event crates are fairly common tasks. They don’t appear in every event, but they have appeared in at least 2 events. What I’ve learned from this is to hoard. Outside of the obvious not opening all of your crates, the less obvious ones are not claiming your event earnings, especially the ones with acoins. For example this week’s deathmatch duel has 100 acoins if you complete 100 points. Don’t collect it. It goes to your inbox. Same with specialization sprees. Those 300 acoin go to your inbox if not collected. I’ve checked with support, and they stay there for 60 days. Fortune keys are another source of resources. Don’t blow them all. Save it for the playoff. The playoff awards? Don’t claim them immediately. I was lucky and I got Asami in my 1 crate spin awhile back, so for first place in the event I got 6k acoin. Saved it for this past event. That 6k points, not including the points from the implant crates. Timing. This is important. Jump in mid way through. The way I figure it, the whales jump on early, and there are guys who will wait until the last minute to jump on the leaderboard and then blow their load. Jump in mid way, and you’ll get randoms. I know it’s probably more thought put into it than needed, but I wanted to share. Here are my results. A bit overkill on my part, but I like to have enough separation to prevent a last minute sniping. Oh, and I’m saving these rewards and my acoin for the next event.  |

Just a clarification, tourney earnings don’t go to the inbox, at least, I don’t think they do. Playoff, event (specialization spree, accolade challenge, development derby, etc) and dailies go to the inbox, if not collected. |

I’m not sure about the season pass. I never tried banking those rewards. I don’t see why they wouldn’t though. Maybe I’ll experiment with the season to see what happens.

Looks like they should, you can pick and choose what you want to collect, so you can pickup the skins and x2, pilot coins etc if you want and leave the crates/bp alone. Guess I'll find out in a few days if they make it to the inbox. |

So far my playoff haven't gone to inbox, maybe tomorrow? the weekly rewards also are not going to inbox when all are completed and days roll over which makes sense since I think you can complete this in less than a week.

Does anyone know if the rewards to playoff events eventually get saved to your inbox if you don't immediately claim them? I didn't experiment with this yet, but saving all the crates I won would have been helpful for future events. I suspect it doesn't work that way because unlike other events, playoffs stay in the active event list after they've ended so you can claim your reward. But maybe after 24 hours or something it goes to the inbox? Anyone know? |

Last time I tried they didn't goto inbox just sat there, I got worried after 3-4 days if another started they'd be gone so I just collected them, so I didn't play the wait and see if they made it to inbox, figured they would have after 1-2 days but as I said they didn't. |
