Here is a link to a Twitch video I made, rather short. But you can see Aegis in action after a minute or two. I had some connection issues. Surprise. 🤣 m.twitch.tv/videos/1494019532

Just a quick note, Aegis is pretty helpful in cpc. Walk/run on a control point, and use the shield bubble if you come under fire. Or just before reaching the cp plop down the bubble and take the cp. Bubble is also good for general purposes of cover. I had fun with it in cpc. 😀

So basically it's strength is area denial, like the Cheetah. Like once it gets on the CP, you can't knock it off before it caps it. I can see that being useful, or for spawning on a CP before it gets turned and dropping the shield to keep the CP from being taken.

It's more like a defensive thing. if you're taking fire by the cp drop the bubble. I drop it half on and half off the cp which somehow works to stop enemy fire while taking the cp and adding cover to retreat afterwards. A red can enter the bubble shield so It's not really area denial, unless maybe you have ATs. ;-) To improve Aegis Devs could just make the bubble shield like the Panther shield. Reds contacting it get slowed down hard. That would make Aegis a much better mech. Or maybe just allow teammates to fire through it, but not the Aegis. That would add some tactical maneuvers.

I think the letting blues fire out would be a bit OP. Stasis would be a good idea though as that would dissuade people from rushing in.

This might be a dumb idea, but what about say letting players drop the shield early? Throw up a block for incoming fire, then drop it when you/teammates are ready to unload, but the timer would still count out the remaining "shield" time plus the normal recharge time on top of that. I don't own an Aegis so I don't have much perspective but seems like it might help.

That almost reminds me of War Robots Ares....drop the shield early and unleash death!
