Like the look. Don't like the name. Hate the skin.
Side note...seriously the legendary skin for this season is awful. What's with the candy theme? I mean, I like the shape but seriously??

It's supposed to be the "anti-mortars" tank. I'm really curious about the specifics of this new tank. Koalabear I totally agree with you, I don't like the skins this season. I'm still deciding if I will pay for the gold pass this time.

For me, it'll come down to whether I need that 500k credits or not. If I'm nowhere near the blueprints I need to max my Ares, then I probably won't. But, if I have enough blueprints or enough A-coins to buy out the balance of blueprints and don't have enough credits, then I might.
I'm a little tired of the red Hot Rod legendary skin for the Panther though, so I might end up using the new legendary skin just because it's Legendary.
Do we have specs on the Bulwark yet and details on how the shield works?

It drops a stationary dome sheild. No word on if it's HP based, or has a timer like Jug. Mayer made a video about it saying what should be pretty obvious: It's not going to stop Mortars. It will just make squads abusing mortars more effective at abusing Mortars. Whichever side can protect their artillery with the most bubbles wins, and if you're solo: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I want to be excited for this, but I've found myself short of time to really keep putting time into this game. Over the last few months I've been spending a bit to offset my reduced playtime, but after the recent AI change (I'm fighting 5.1-5.7 AI and facing Rank 6 players with R5 mechs and R4 weapons), and now ~protected mortar cheese~.... Yea, I already started making google docs for the game ~I~ want to make, and MA escalating quickly, to the point of going from Y1 War Robots to Y6 War Robots less than a full year after global launch, is what's motivating me to do it -_-

It does that. It drops a stationary dome sheild. No word on if it's HP based, or has a timer like Jug. IMHO it will have to be HP-based, or it'll be too unbalanced. If it's timer-based, everyone on the team will spawn an Aegis, group under one dome, then drop another one, and so on. They'll be invincible for 10 seconds at a time, from the beginning of the match till the end. Whereas if it's HP-based, they'll either be collectively punished by 2*12RM if they group under a single dome, or they'll be knocked out one by one.

No shield HP listed, duration is 10 seconds, and there will likely be pilot implants that extend it's duration/radius.

So, basically a tougher Panther with a dome shield instead of a fence, and it doesn't apply stasis. No absorb damage either. So far so good. It's faster than the Ares - same speed as the Panther but likely only 24EN. I kinda like this mech and will probably get it down the road. Oh, and the mech is called Aegis. Want me to rename the thread Redfiend?

You had me at Bulwark. My first MA post. Have yet to try it though. It just went full War Robots buff cycling, casino boxes, and locking new stuff out of regular in game purchase. I just came back after probably 3+mths away, surprises me none of the bots/weapons that were just landing as I left are available... is it an unknown if these will ever be in the track or will it always be a gamble/buy model to get the new things? Really indifferent being back for a week, doesn't look like much has changed to me. The 100+ more skins which very few interest me is annoying.

It goes like this: ~Crate rush initial release. Total price for guaranteed item in it's specific slot raffle: $99 USD. ~End of crate rush: RM offers in 3 tiers depending on historical spending habits: -Freemium:Reduced rank version for pocket change price range. Resources required to rank to max greatly exceed initial -Pocket change: Normal rank version for their manipulated conversion math worth of money. IE: I got an offer for Arc 12 at it's normal rank for $30 USD. Playing stopped being fun because they buffed AI. Top level AI are now commonly R5 setups for ALL mechs, with pimped out pilots(including ones that are still unavailable). ***Side note: A coins per dollar spent have been reduced. The bonus coins for bulk purchases have been reduced overall, and are limited to 1 purchase as far as we know. After purchasing the bonus bulk package once, the price point reverts to $1 USD per 80 coins. IE: $1:8A, $10:800, $100:8000. -Pilots are like 3 layers of gatcha, with the only thing being F2P friendly are purple tier pilots being a little over 1k A coins. ~A couple of weeks after, there is another crate rush with the new item at ONE STAR, with the other spins being Vault keys, credits, and BP for the weapon. Every spin costs 400 coins, requiring 4000 coins to clear. This is THE ONLY way a F2P player can obtain the new item. ~RM offers appear again if the main item is still not owned, but at a lower price point/rank than the previous offer. After that, they can only be obtained if they make another round in a different crate rush, or when they are offered again for RM during their turn in the weekly "specialization spree" event, which is really just a rebate of credits and coins for buying the item, purchasing the "Upgrade Package" offer to obtain the blueprints for it, and/or Ranking the item up. It ouroboros-ed real quick.

If you're going to put in the work for the free spin, your 500k credit cache will be guaranteed full, and there will be several buffs X00K credits etc, with a reminder popup the season pass is available every time the app is opened.

I already fought against players using Aegis 4 times, which seems too high, but anyway. None of them were maxed. Seems that the dome has a learning curve, and it's a little bit weird. The fact that it's a neutral structure causes that you can use it in your advantage, even when it was made by a rival mech. Actually, I used it twice to defeat the rival Aegis (probably easier if you have a faster mech), and not only that, the dome gave me cover to go back to a protected spot. Two battles were against 4 players in a team (same team, in tournament). They won both battles and they used the dome with 3 of them getting in and out and using it as a cover (to be fair, most of the time when I play with AI teammates against 4 or 5 humans the battle is lost). I think that Aegis will be a good mech for teamwork, but the counterpoint is that could be annoying to have a teammate throwing a wall in front of you that can block your fire. In my mind the ideal scenario for this guy will be CPC, but I think people still need more time to figure out how to use it. Tbh, my main fear is AI teammates throwing domes randomly and blocking my shots; they already use their body for that purpose, I cannot imagine what they will do with a big structure...

Wait, so the dome shield blocks ALL fire including friendly fire? Wow... yeah, that's balanced but I feel bad for all the whales who rushed to buy it and max it. Seems to be a pretty good RM platform then as you get protection while your RMs reload.

Seems to be a pretty good RM platform then as you get protection while your RMs reload. I'm not sure what will be the ideal niche for Aegis, but now I think that Killy, Stalker and Brick will be better platforms for RM. The shield provides minimal protection if a scout reaches the other side trying to kill a camper, they just need to walk through; and I forgot to mention that when the shield is used, a big yellow dot appears on the map. I don't know if someone needs to see the dome to disclose its position on the map, that part will be critical for players trying to stay hidden.

Very useful for opposite mortar users to know if a potential target is under a dome, and when to shoot next (typically : shoot a first volley, a yellow dot appears on the map, wait until it disappears to shoot the second volley).

I do not have a lot of experience playing with people that have it, but im keeping tabs on those who do and inviting the to squad together before i make any decisions either way.

So, I had a game today where one of my team mates was rocking an Aegis. He/she must have picked it up on "sale" today. I gotta say, I'm not impressed. Sure, the shield covers the mech and team mates in a dome, but the shield is a two way shield, not like Panther's Stasis Field or Ares' frontal shield. So, yeah, it "forces" your opponents to enter the dome to fight you. But come on, who would do that?? Sure, maybe if I were in an Ares or something. But, I would most likely just wait out the shield. I can't really blame them cause a dome shield that allows you to fire out and block outside fire is pretty OP, just like the "god" bots in War Robots. But, all they had to do was make the shield destroyable, like give it some HP like Ares and Jugg's shield. Having an indestructible shield is part of what makes the Panther the best and most annoying mech in the game.
So, tempting as it is to pick up another new mech cheap, I won't be spending a dime on this mech until I can get it with in game resources.

Tbh, I already hate Aegis. In small maps (like today's tournament) it's incredible annoying to have a teammate throwing a dome blocking you... I still believe he should shine in certain CPC maps, but overall that impenetrable wall is not necessarily a good thing to have in front of you.

I bought Aegis because the shield looked awesome. So far it's not performing well in deathmatch. Players Do run into the shield and kill Aegis very often. His 3 star plus level does make him vulnerable though. Maybe level it and see. I tried DL12 (meh), LA10 (terrible), Mortar 12 (okay), Jav6 (map dependent) and now MR6s (so so). I need to get the hang of Not trying to shoot Through the shield. Also there may be a spot where a weapon is through the shield to shoot, but you can't get shot. I haven't found it yet. I do like shiny new toys so I will keep experimenting with it. I tried to make videos but my recorder apps kept crashing. Given my difficulties with Aegis, I may not finish his event for those 300 acoins. I don't want to put more money into him at this point. My budget for MA is blasted already. Lol.
