Don't look at me, I can't write this one. 1 kill, die. 1.5 kills die. 0 kills, die. Oh yeah, I'm good with a Scorpion. I need y'all to wrtie this one for me/us. Please. If it's good and worthwhile I'll make sure it gets stickied. Feel free to just copy/paste links to other scorpion threads here, but it would be great to also have a one-stop thread for Scorpion wannabes like me. What Bot/weapons/pilot+skills/drone+chips, please. Probably the biggest help I need is battlefield awareness tips. Where/when to drop. Great places to hang out looking for your next victim. THANKS!

Weapons:
S-Tier
Mace Cudgel: Ridiculously powerful, incoming nerf for sure. Absurd amounts of damage up close, penetrates physical shields, applies drone effects super quick, and the Blast effect can damage multiple robots at once. (Although you should avoid fighting multiple reds at once, even with this build)
Havoc Scatter: "Classic" Scorpion build. Huge DPS and unrepairable damage, super effective to fight tanks.
A-Tier
Cryo Rime: Applies drone chips quickly, blows up physical shields, great burst damage, freeze effect amplifies damage even more and leaves your target vulnerable even after leaving.
Igniter Blaze: Good sustained damage, melts physical shields.
B-Tier
Corona Halo: Applies drone effects super quick, great burst damage, however the reload time leaves a lot to be desired. Terrible against phsyical shields.
Venom Toxin: More of a situational build, DoT can bypass reflector and Skyros's defense. Terrible burst but great sustained.
C-Tier
Scourge Spark: Actually deals good damage up close, however it's pretty difficult keeping a lock on at point blank range and when you're teleporting. If you can make it work, go ahead.
Storm Gust: Decent burst damage but long reload time. Not recommended
Orkan Pinata: Reload time is too long to be worthwhile, Orkan's burst dps is barely higher than Igniter's sustained DPS. Not recommended.

I don't know if anyone here knows BigDumbOaf, but he is pretty deadly with his scorpion. One key is to pick your teleport targets carefully. If you launch into a well guarded front line member with 5 other reds behind him, you're likely toast. I rarely get killed by a Scorpion when I have blues behind me because they know they are fragile and will split if they are getting hammered. So, search out the bots who are solo or paired. I assume you're running Ash, and if not, you should be. That stealth is critical. You can pile on a stealth module too, but Anticontrol is probably a better bet - you don't want to get stuck and not be able to teleport back. Last stand can also be pretty helpful with Scorpion more than most bots because you can be spared a lot of total damage, teleport back, wait for a heal, and get one or two more teleports before you are taken out. Nuc Amp IMO is also important - charges fast with sonics, but a BU is good too. I think a 1:1 exchange for scorpion is the minimum (should be for any bot - if you can't get that reliably, you may need a hanger change up or a playstyle shift). If you pick your targets well, I'd think a 2:1 exchange is reasonable, higher the more you play it and refine the timing. Like watching BB in his jump videos - timing is literally everything with Scorpion: - when to teleport in (single/duo bots, especially if they're focusing on another fight...)
- when to teleport back (how quick did they notice you and are they powerful)
- do you stay for the kill ("just one more shot") or do you bail and not get greedy and possibly get killed instead
- when to retreat to the pack from your front line hiding spot and not be greedy (someone is coming for revenge and you need backup to live to another teleport)

Whiteout drone: Disables target abilities temporarily. Allows you to easily kill grounded bendy Sirens, not even Deft Survivor will help them.
Surprisingly you can make a Scorpion quite tanky with this drone, allows you to take more risks.
Advanced Repair Unit build: On Repair Unit Defense, On Mild Damage Fix
Quantum Radar/Shieldbreaker/Crack-free build: On Half/Low Durability Defense, On Kill Fix, On Mild Damage Fix

Module sets:
Nuclear Amplifier 2x + Last Stand/Repair Amplifier: High risk high reward, very high damage output once NA is charged. Both Defense and Offense drone can be used
3x Cloaking Unit: Multiple Stealth charges allows you to evade and reposition from bendies for a while. Use offensive drones if possible. Beware Yang Lee Juns and other Quantum Radar users.
Anti-Control, Nuclear Amplifier, Last Stand: More of an all rounder build.

Tactics
DO NOT engage multiple reds at once unless they are pre occupied by someone else. Scorpions are fragile and can be easily killed once spotted. Focus on 1v1 engagements against VIP targets, such as a Bendy Siren.
Beware Orbital Strikes, Scorpions are very often targeted with Orbital Strikes. Scorpion is fast enough to dodge them in most cases, but prepare to spend some crack on healing/phase shift when needed.
Cover. Have an escape plan, examine your surroundings. If you're good enough with the Scorpion chances are you're going to be targeted by reds. Enemies might try pushing to your cover or try to hit you with bendies. Move to a different safe cover when needed.
Timing, already well explained by Shawn up there. If you just dropped in a Scorpion, do not let the enemy know you're in a Scorpion. Make the enemy think you're not in a Scorpion until it's too late and you strike them when they least expect it. Before teleporting, try moving left and right a bit, this might throw your opponent off guard and think you're not in a Scorpion.

When teleporting back, don't just wait for the Mothership strike, move fast to a different location.😉 Resist temptation to deal one last shot and loose your ability to teleport back. Ash pilot.

One of the things not already mentioned is you have to watch out for other Scorpions. It is an unwritten rule that when in a Scorpion, your job is to wipe out all the others.
If you know who is in a Scorpion, keep them locked in the targeting, and wait for them to teleport to someone else, then hit them when they get back. They won't be expecting this, and probably haven't got a heal ready either.
If that fails, and you have to blink back, there are two ways you can deal with the enemy player.
1. Go out of range, and wait for your ability to be ready. His will be ready before yours, and if he has the Ash Skarsgard pilot there is nothing you can do. When your ability is ready, go back into range, and spam the ability button. If you have the pilot, your aim is to hit the button before him. This will stop him from doing option 2.
2. This option is if you are desperate, and need more time to prepare for option 1. This only works if they haven't got the pilot. Go outof range, as before, and wait for your ability. Then go back into range, and wait for them to teleport to you (you will notice a defense points icon appear above them) When you see this, hit the ability button. They will teleport to you, but then you will teleport behind them teleporting to you, which often fores them to leave straight away. This is a good way to delay them, if you need to wait for an extra heal.

Another thing that people overlook. Scorpion can teleport. Wow, who knew!?
My point is, you don't have to use this for what everybody hates it for; wiping out players. Instead, you can use it really effectively in beacon capping if you know how.
If you want a beacon, and there is a red near it, here is what you do. Before you teleport, turn your Scorpion's legs so they are facing backwards, and press the teleport button. During the 3 second delay before teleporting, start running backwards. When you blink behind the red, who has to be moving forward, you will already be going backwards. The aim is for them not to see you appear behind them on their screen, and you can safely cap the beacon, and if there's time, blink back.
Another thing you can do, is if there is a Fafnir or Ao Ming above a beacon - simply teleport to them, fall below and capture a beacon. They won't expect this, and 9 times out of 10 they won't land to protect the beacon, and if they do, simply blink back.

not being a [female dog] [butt] mother [fluffernutter]: dont hide while your ability recharges dont use ash skarsguard pilot (more like [butt] skill-less) attack/kamikaze tough/meta bots or titans even teleport over to cap beacons that arent as heavily defended or eliminate/die trying to eliminate the toughest bot in a beacon conflict save your money and dont buy attack drones and dont refresh the drone chip store till you get corrosion or something show your target your face for a good 2 seconds before teleporting behind them (unless its a titan because they will VAPORISE YOU) run atomizers and a quarker as they both have infinite ammo and the accuracy doesnt matter as you will be playing very close quarters, i mean you will literally appear behind your target ur welcome boys an girls. this is stuff i do or hope to get an opportunity to do in the future as i myself run a techno scorp. oh also only run one scorp, especially if its a techno scorp.

Any idea on mods, pilot with skills, new drone setup? A well built scorpion hurts real bad even on my tankier builds I use Sonics on mine. I've seen other builds do well, but nothing gets somebody's attention quite like seeing large chunks of grey show up in their health bar in rapid succession. It's not foolproof, but it gets it done for what I want from it.
Philosophically, your m.o. is to get in, take a few shots, get out quickly, then get distance+cover between you and Reds. Situational awareness is really important: Don't want to overstay your welcome, don't attack an armored opponent/mech about to fly/a mech readily equipped with phase shifts, and be aware of Red Scorpions because you're vulnerable after you port back to where you started and they'll eat your lunch if they lock on just before you port back.
The main pilot I see (and what I use) Ash Skarsgard. Those first 5 seconds of stealth are really worth it. Yes, you could eke out more damage out of certain other pilots, but that extra ~5% more damage and no initial stealth isn't worth greater survivability and the ability to port in a number of more times because Red couldn't target you for counterattack.

Well, playing as a Scorpion is one thing, but how do you counter them?
I spend a lot of time in free for all (my device cannot load anything in quick match), and I have faced a lot of Scorpions in my time. There's generally a playstyle that goes out to a lot of things in free for all- the hunter and the hunted. The Hunters are the close range brawlers who are fast and deadly at closer ranges, while the hunted are the robots that have weak points. The Seraph is actually a hunted because of how much easier it is to kill out of it's ability. Stuff that people can kill are hunted, like the Ares, Ao Jun, and anything that needs to wait longer are hunted by the Orochi, Angler, and Scorpions as well.
The general game is cat and mouse. The hunted ones (I'll call them prey) have to kill or weaken the hunters before they get close enough to kill them. Prisma Behemoths, Harpy's, Hussar Marquess Ares, and other such need their range.
I usually play as a Hussar Marquess Atomizer Ares, and I have a pretty good win rate against Scorpions. I have recharging ammo that can do quite a bit from far away, and needs to recharge. Scorpions with Havoc and Scatter have literally killed me in 3 shots. Here's a list of advantages you need:
1. Range Do as much as you can to weaken them before they get to you.
2. Ammo Make sure that when they get to you, you have the ammo ready to kill them.
3. Terrain Make sure it is as risky as possible for them to attack you by leading them into the open. if there is a lot of cover, try to get a shot on where they teleport from, or once they have locked onto you and are teleporting jump off a cliff to avoid them.
4. Get them out of your shield. Run sideways. Sometimes your not sure if it's a Revenant or scorpion; if you run forward a Revenant is in your shield and if you run backward the Scorpion is behind you, and they are both facing you. If you run sideways, because the Scorpion's teleporting physics want it facing where you are looking, if you face sideways so will it. Most often no one is ready for that, so they need to turn and start running to you. This gives you enough time to activate your ability and line up to hit where they are teleporting from. Either A. They try to rush you anyway, firing at your shield and you kill them, B. The same thing and they do kill you, or C. They teleport back and you fire upon them, killing or severely damaging them.
5. Notice them before you fight. Pay attention to everyone. See what they run, and decide if you can counter it. if you see that they keep bringing out the same Scorpion with a Whiteout drone and Havoc Scatter, then activate your ability before they get to you, and let them deal with others first.
6. Their not the only one! There are 4 other players. Use them to fight each other. Make people cross paths. Attack certain players to make them seem weak and get ganged up on and taken out.
7. Know your spawn points. In free for all, there are a set number of spawn points. When someone dies, they spawn the farthest away from everyone else as possible. There is a pattern for each map; learn it and know when and where the enemy you just killed will spawn. Make sure that there is another player in between you and them distance wise, and you will never be attacked first. That's how you always stay far away.
8. Beware everyone else. Scorpions are a small part of the game. There are many things more dangerous. Don't get caught up worrying about an incoming Scorpion if there are bigger threats. But, keep in mind, if the Scorpion thinks that you are the only killable target (Everyone else is a Luchador) then it will most likely try to get to you, so lead it through other players by making yourself known to them, attack the Scorpion briefly, and then hide. Either they will go for you or the Scorpion. It's all situational, so you need to know when to do this.
9. Read people. See how they play chicken. Do they stay for the last shot or run away? This will help you determine what they will do when they teleport to you.
10. Be ready to counter everything. Be prepared to fight something that can kill you in 2 seconds. And make sure you have a plan.
11. Don't let them waste your ability. Sometimes, they teleport back immediately, so I waste my ability in cover. Since they can immediately teleport back and end they ability, and the Ares has a set time of 9 seconds, even if we both use our abilities at the same time, theirs will recharge faster. If you can't move from your spot, then the next time they teleport to you from their cover you won't be ready. Try to be as mobile as possible, and regain distance while keeping them in their cover. They will try to use their teleports to force you into somewhere you can't run. The Ares can't go back up the cliff, while the Scorpion can. Make them make mistakes by mastering the other rules.
If your using a Scorpion, think about all of this backwards. I am your enemy, and this is what I will do to you.
Make sure I fail as much of this as possible.
1. Close the distance 2. make me waste ammo. 3. Make sure you are safe when you try to kill me and when you teleport back. 4. You will be disoriented unless this happened before. Be ready. Phase shift is a great way to make up the lost time so you get in my shield. 5. Be ready to be countered. 6. make me run into someone I can't kill, or use them to corner me so you can kill me. 7. If I am your target, beeline. 8. Make me worry about you. 9. Change your playstyle if it means killing me. You can kill me in 3 shots. Use Phase shift and Whiteout and get in my shield. 10. make sure I am not equipped or ready to counter you when you teleport to me. 11. Make them waste their ability and fire into cover. Stay hidden and be ready to follow them out of your cover to stay in range.
This is only for Free for all where you are fighting individuals, and everyone is an enemy of everyone else.

Scorpion is a bot that likes to get from behind and 「fluffernutter」 the enemy robot in the rear like a 「cute guy」. This works well when the enemy robot is in the middle of fighting with someone else. When they notice that someone is 「fluffernutter」ing them in the 「bum-bum」, it is too late, they have been 「grape」 already.

Nothing unloads faster than coronas and halo. Minimal time spent at the enemy is best, reload time is short than the ability cool down. Locking down your target is a plus, especially on maps like canyon.

Scorp is my favorite and makes it into every battle. Running fatal havocs and tiger scatter because I want reds to feel the pain and not heal up.
I average 5 kills easily, still waiting on my first 10 kill with only a scorpion so I can post it on that thread.
1. Don’t get greedy for the kill. Don’t run out the clock on the blink back timer because you stuck around for the last hit to kill the red and then you’re stranded in enemy land.
2. Be aware of any red within 350m. Consider them another Scorp.
3. You have 18sec cooldown before you can teleport again. DO NOT stand facing a wall looking at the battlefield in front of you during the 18 sec. Some teleporting red is gonna pop behind you while staring at the wall. Probably the last red you killed because he knows you’re a Scorp. For 17 seconds back against a wall (facing away) and be ready for someone to teleport behind you.
4. Find a healer and go with him. Hopefully they heal your little assassin so you can stay in the fight longer.
5. After killing the red that beacon in front will get tempting. But that means you’re gonna time out on the blink back. Choose wisely. I rarely use my scorp for any beacon especially a red beacon during BR matches.
6. Scorp is quick. Do not just stand there and blast. Shoot while moving around the red and try to stay behind him.

Oliver KloesovThough I dont play anymore, for what its worth there are a couple specific things I havent seen mentioned that are important. 1) Dont just teleport blind. Assess your target first rather than waste an ability attacking a tough target 2) Dont be afraid to use teleport to actually escape from a tough opponent pursuing you 3) Use Scorpion to steal beacons from behind an enemy without alerting them to your presence. To do this, right when you teleport you must immediately turn your turret away from the enemy you teleport to. Why? When you arrive you dont want to shoot them or have your stinger attack alert the enemy you are there. Once you arrive, back away to take a nearby beacon 4) Whenever you return to your translocator, especially if you know there are enemy Scorpions, turn and face your back to a wall in case you get ambushed by a teleporting enemy. 5) It is good to sometimes check what is going on around your translocator, because sometimes you wont want to teleport back if enemies are right there 6) Use Scorpion to take out lone targets, and especially high priority targets. If there is an enemy wrecking a lot of your team, use your Scorpion to weaken or even empty that players hangar
