Zephyr tends to be a controversial mech choice for end game. I argue that people don't really take the assigned roles of mechs seriously. A recent zephyr scoreboard, when played as an actual support mech instead of an attacker:

wait, since when has zephyr been controversial as an endgame mech? Since it often gets pinched out of space in end game hangars for more firepower(Guardian/Redox/Tengu/Stalker/brick) speed (Killshot/Shadow), staying power and area control (Panther/Ares/Juggernaut). That, and the majority of the sets Zephyr can carry get much more mileage used on other, more aggressive or attrition based roles on the battlefield.

Plus, games with high level players are like games of peek a boo. EVERYBODY is using that tactic. The game becomes a TPS shooter with mech skins. Zephyr just can't compete naturally in that environment.

That, and the majority of the sets Zephyr can carry get much more mileage used on other, more aggressive or attrition based roles on the battlefield. zephyr is an essential bot on a lotta cpc maps in high level squad fights. grab center, drop a zeph to defend. it's not good on all cpc or tourney maps, but the list of bots that are is extremely short. i consider Z an endgame mech because it is very good/good in a lot of common situations. btw I'm talking about ppl w/ mostly 6k+ or high 5k hangars, and I have 6.4k myself, so my perspective may vary from others.

Oddly enough, my Zephyr has not seen action since I got Stalker. I use my shielded mechs Ares and Panther, mostly Panther. Then I use my tank ish Brickhouse for tasks/achievements/tanking disputed control points. Killshot is for cpc and when other bots die, or going after mortar reds. Stalker is like a backup to Killshot, plus good for kills with Jav 6s. All this can change at my whim except Panther with railgun.

Dumb question: What's the range of the Zephyr's ability? I could have sworn it was 30m like the Guardian, but I got rooted at 41m over the weekend and that surprised me.
