So i won a puncher in last event and put it on shell along with 2 shredders and NA Last Stand and fortifier. Puncher and shredder charges up NA faster than prisma and locksdown faster than paralysis
guys should try it

I have held onto my 2 shredders to this day, hoping for a comeback. I would think this build on Shell would be pretty good, leveled up. 2 leveled Punchers on Orochi is effective, and my 3 Punchers on Erebus is very nasty, and as you wrote NA charges fast with that build. As for Shell, I find Flames, green goo, Sonics and fire rockets work well and are fun to drive. Pretty versatile bot, IMO |

Erebus with those 2 builds, and driven by keep moving, use cover during reload, and don’t stand there when Faf visits due to the SB pilot, is very effective. Pushing with this thing is a joy! |

Instead I leveled two punchers, and now my Orochi hats at least a wrampage every game... |

That being said, have gone toe to toe with many fafnir while using flame weapons and once you learn to aim with them and lead a moving target its quite easy to force a fafnir to land and die //forgot to mention. Funny how now there's a operation with shell/ember/blaze weapons. Almost as if I'm right and pix is listening! Hahah |

I run 2 invaders with EMGs, a Heavy Armor Kit, BU, and Thermonuclear Reactor, sometimes swapping out for a NA. EMGs are underrated IMO because even though they overheat and targeting gets sketchy, up close or brawling you just keep firing.

But every one of us in that level of play knows to keep at more than point blank distance while strafing or circling and flamers lose the majority of their ammo just trying to reacquire the target. Nevermind targets like faf that are in constant alternating flight paths. In my beacon runners I promise you I will flat out ignore flamers and they pretty much dont even bother paying me any mind.
The fafs I play aginst in champs will roast you once you let them get inside the range of their ability. They melt titans and half teams if they get to spawn points.
Flamers dont really stand much chance because faf's ability weapon stays on target much easier than the flamer trying to defend against it- No skill or practice needed....And it takes fafs less time to melt your bot than it takes you to constantly and consistently reaquire them as a target.
Sure, a flamer might get a faf here and there, but as a common practice? You might have more fun playing outside in traffic.
Killing them outside the range of that ability is the only acceptable means of dealing with champ level fafs as a common practice. Its nice to write in elementary war robot terms like oh how bot A easily deals with bot B. But when you play in champs you understand its never just the 1v1 in that level of play. ...so I gotta ride hard with the Pumpkin head on that one.

I run one in my main champs hangar now and its pretty well kitted out but I am extremely interested in this thread because I still want to run other weaps on it. Ive got another 2 dread shells in 2nd and 3rd string hangars with combos of corrosion and froodles and am lvling them up for champs because I find them fantastic for getting to and taking out them pesky prisma erbs that like to hang wayyy back while hunting/killing scorpions along the way.
The kink in my plan and will stop me from reaching the erb is other shells. Ive run into all types- sonics to flamers and there are loads of different builds so yeah I wanted to know what others had to say as well. Im a vet but always ready to learn so thanks for the thread  |

Look. Shell isn't in the Meta as much as it used to be. Revenant has replaced it. Shell buffs nuke Amp ways to fast for the reds. It's not seen as much as it was. Maybe in lower leagues is still a tough bot. But don't shoot the messenger. I have a shell killer that in one volley of missiles gets full 80 nuke Amp and shell losing 80% life. This is why they went what they once were. They are still very useful especially in the lower leagues. Fire weapons have same range as fafs built in weap. So anywhere faf flies it can be hit. If you care to test this out let's go custom. |

If you care to test this out let's go custom. I’m on the princess’ side on this one. I have a fair amount of trouble hitting flying Fafnirs with EMGs and with flames it is nigh impossible. Yes, stray shots can hit them, but even the simplest is areal maneuvers will ensure at least 60% of the clip misses without Lockdown Ammo. Fafnir is just so fast and can change direction quickly enough that it is easily able to fly unpredictably enough to constantly dodge flames. If you can reliably hit Fafnirs with flames, either the Fafnir user is dumb as bricks or you have an uncanny ability to lead your shots. If you can produce video proof I will concede to your point, but until then, I’m calling your bluff. |
