One vote: I think I have to got with Fawlty Towers. Short, sweet, epic!
Considered: Derry Girls, Seinfeld, Friends.

I *DESPISE* sit-coms: coupled with the brain-grab effect of TV, they made me abandon television entirely for decades.
Having said that, ‘Fawlty Towers’…and ‘Soap’

I'm pretty sure all the adult animations qualify as sit-coms; it's a pretty broad category. The Simpsons (early years), Futurama (also early years), King of the Hill, ATHF, Rick & Morty, South Park (again earlier years), etc.
But I'm just going to vote for Night Court. Loved that show when I was a kid. Haven't watched it in forever, no plans to, probably hasn't aged well, and it wasn't the smartest comedy even its heyday, but still childhood nostalgia carries the day.

I never had a crush on Marie Post myself, but John Larroquette's character was my fave. Despite this, I did not grow up to be a nimphomaniacal sleazeball, but he wore that look well.

Friends. New girl. Speaking of crush worthy. Zoe is my style. Big Bang theory. Threes company. Lol. Man that was a while ago. Happy endings. (Get your mind outta the gutter you pervs.) It had elisha cuthbert in it.
Not in that order. Just some I’ve particularly liked. Couldn’t say which is the best. I guess Big Bang. Cause you get to think about stuff waaay over my head too.

Fawlty Towers would be super-tough to beat. Cleese was a demented genius and at his best. I'd like to give 'Black Books' a mention, but it's not going for the title. And personally, I really enjoyed 'The Mighty Boosh', though it's certainly not for everyone.

Oldies: while I like Fawlty Towers, I love ‘Allo ‘Allo. Special mention to Mind Your Language.
Newer stuff: Friends, Big Bang Theory, Kim’s Convenience. Oh yeah, Third Rock from the Sun
Special mention: ARCHER. I don’t know if you can call it situational comedy, but it’s absolutely hilarious.

Since we have so many Towers fans here anyone else like Blackadder? Being a history buff myself I loved it. "To you Baldrick, the Rennaissance is just something that happened to other people, isn't it?" Oh yeah, LOVE me some Osmond Sir Edmund Blackadder.

SuperHero: OMG yes, Archer really does have some moments. I love the Florida airboat episode. “My Name is Earl” really has some pants-pissing jokes as well.

Bosom Buddies… Tom Hanks (and Hollywood) did Peter Scolari dirty…. RIP. And Pete was a much better juggler
Kidding…
Not always the funniest, but All in the Family and Soap really pushed the envelope on social issues.. Also remember school, then football practice, then Confirmation Classes for a long day and BEGGING our Pastor to let us out early to run home to see the final episode of MASH… brutal day, Coach said he was getting cold, told us to take another lap… so we’re running, and it occurs to us that HE was cold! Why isn’t HE…. Oh forget it.. Late to Confirmation,, but three yrs later, same guys would play for a 6A Title…
But that was back in the day that you went for snacks/bev you went during commercials and when you missed an episode of something, you MISSED it!

Happy endings. (Get your mind outta the gutter you pervs.) It had elisha cuthbert in it. I second Happy Endings. Man oh man thats a funny show. I 「dookie」 when they cancelled. Two of my tried and true favorites are Curb Your Enthusiasm and 30 Rock. Seasons were up and down but those two shows were friggin hilarious and off the wall.

Yeah, well, you're all wrong and I suggest you let that one marinate. Figure it out! Now. Having said that, in considering US-made old-school sitcoms, for me it's a tossup between Night Court and the mighty WKRP.
