It has been a couple weeks with the 2 new maps...so what do you think? If you do like them which is your favorite and why? How do you start your game, get that center beacon and keep it?

I'm not crazy about them, they're just ok. A Lancer pro might like them more. I go for the first and center beacons right away. KS dies about 60% of the time.

They are very good for RM12 users as that centre Control Point is open to the top. If you have aggressive team mates who can keep the reds busy there, you can rain the pain down on the reds from the back.

I love these...and yes we just sacrificed our first bot just now I think we both had Killy in that last game. But the pace of that game doesn't let you leave your guard down. The center in carnage, but a must. Sacrifice too little in the beginning and you will be overrun by reds, sacrifice too much and you Mech out.

Now im running DL8'S, they do not have the killing power, but it definitely mixes up the game a bit.

Def center first. I prefer Shadow for this over KS. Easier to lose and plenty fast enough. Can beat KS there on both maps. Not usually enough to do so unmolested… but with the right load out and judicious use of Stealth I can usually get it first and keep it long enough to matter against AI and solo humans.
I like Site 313, but not Imperial City. Layout of 313 is more fun for things I run.
Focusing on choke points is the best tip I have… whether direct fire, or indirect.

I'm not that happy with them, Imperial City in particular. I also don't like the fact that there are three 3-beacon maps all of a sudden.
Imperial City seems poorly designed. Send in a tank to grab center and then bottleneck the enemy amongst the buildings. Not much variety and the choke points are terrible. Frankly I wish they'd junk this map for now and go back to the drawing board.
Site 313 is better. It's pretty cluttered but that is supposed to be the motif I guess. The lack of cover from the top is an issue that is going to become more frustrating as players figure out the map. You have to charge out to grab center but then it's not easy to retreat. Airship offered a lot more variety in cover and terrain than these maps.
Also a big problem so far is the AI. Presumably it will "learn" how to best navigate these maps in time. So far they mainly get stuck on the sides in Site 313 and completely fail to take center on either map no matter how easy it is. That is super annoying, given how important center is in a 3-beacon map.

In Site 313 I can get behind one of the corner walls around Center beacon and hold it pretty well with Zephyr or Ares. Hiding my bot center point means AI often ignores me until it's too late. They do seem to gravitate to the sides.

both of the new three beacon maps are trash
boring gameplay, too linear, no opportunities for counterplay

Imperial City needs more cover at center. It's a kill zone for any and all weapons. In fact, I think the best strategy (with AI at least) is to get to center quickly and let the other team try to take it while obliterating them, so you can take it while they're all waiting to respawn. I've rushed center there plenty and can almost take it, but I have no team support if I run the KS there. I don't do that anymore. I like Site 313 better because of the platforms with cover flanking center and even the 4 pillars in the center. You can use those to hide from the blue and pink lasers that are omnipresent.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed that they changed the beacon influence accumulation on the 3 beacon maps? It's significantly faster now if you have just 2 beacons. I used to mech out the other team all the time on the flying battleship by just holding 2. Now that's significantly harder to do. I think they likely just kept the same influence accumulation rate from the 5 beacon maps when the battleship map came out. Now they've adjusted. I'm neutral on this change. It's just worth noting.

Yeah, I was wondering about this too. Wasn't sure if they actually adjusted the rate but it felt like it. Not a fan of the change myself.
