I am patiently (ok, not really) waiting on the DLs to be released for purchase to the masses so I can use my IG resources I've been hoarding to try these out. Anyone have any idea when these might drop? The even ended and I'm ready to give them a try!
If it's possible, I want to get the 16 and the 12 and play around with them on my near-maxed Guardian. That seems like a good platform for them and the EN will fit perfectly. Plus, I can just leave them on Guardian while I wait to collect BPs for them both. No rush to upgrade anything, including the Guardian.

Videos I have seen show it's pretty effective in skilled hands, especially when levelled. So yeah I will get that and the other new stuff....eventually.

I have seen nothing concrete.
I saw Scape? maybe? say that he was thinking that they would stretch it out... possibly having a "vanilla" event next, then the next weapon event, etc. I would imagine that this is all still in "how do we do this" phase and it could change up as things go along... but if tomorrow (Tuesdays are usually when the new stuff hits, right?) doesn't come with a Crate Rush for DL 10, then my money is on the week after that.
It's all speculation though... apparently OPSEC is very important to the Dev/Marketing team.

I fully expect it’s going to be many times more than whatever I’ve been able to hoard by the time it comes out for purchase. And of course, because I really want the Jav8’s, I expect those to be even more.

I am going to guess that it would be similar to Carbines in cost to acquire, once unlocked.
And we don't even know for sure that Jav 8s are even coming. Speculation over whether that was an Easter egg of what's to come or something left over from early beta testing (before we got involved) that they decided not to do, is still swirling around.

Given the crappy event they have going on right now (with a nerfed vault blitz to boot) as well as no updated progress path to reflect Arachnos or Disc Launcher 8, I fear it may be a while before we can purchase anything on the progress path. TBH I dont think the DL8 is going to be that great unless you plan to like max it. And even then it competes with other 8 energy weapons like missile racks and longarms which tend to be better maxed from all I have seen. The DL like most prototypes is designed to be well rounded; quick reload, easy targeting, solid range, aoe damage. So the sacrifice in this case is damage. Im going to wait for the DL12 or 16 depending on what they plan to release. As it stands, these events have been pretty underwhelming. I also assume they are trying to test stuff out for this to see if this is the way to release weapons and stuff in game to give them the best return. The best way to show we dont like it (especially this follow up event for the 500 acoin pulls) is to not spending money on it so their metrics show it isnt profitable.

Fortunately for us all, I think many of there higher level players willing to spend aren't going to be lured into this. So many are former War Robots players looking for something different. Even those willing to spend money will recognize this for what it is and pass. I think the most effective path for them will likely be what they're doing with the a-coin squeeze. People spending small-medium amounts of money to accumulate a-coins faster on a consistent basis for new gear is a much more subtle and palpable method IMO. Not everyone will do it, but many will. $5-10 per week (or more for some people) will add up and it'll probably keep the players from feeling jilted near as badly as this gacha tactic. Release the gear and have people use their resources. Some people are savers and have been planning, but some, like Koalabear have impulse buy issues and will put it on their credit cards. (jk bud, love you!)

honestly they arent anything crazy.. I wouldnt be rushing to change up a build to have them.. they are a step above RPG but below many other things. DL8 atleast cant speak to any others yet.
EDIT:
They also silently nurfed the vault blitz thing, the acoins have ben removed from all but the 3rd slot. first two are now credits figured that would get axed at some point. I'm now down to 3 skins that are not prototype then its all prototype and acoins/credits.
obtaining acoins is narrowing quickly.. esp since I all but abandoned tournaments. I think I have the need for about 12-15k right now to upgrade things.. so probably hitting my ceiling here soon and thats before the release of the newer EN weapons..

As much as I dislike the idea of it, making the Deathmania event pay out 300 A-Coins after a real money purchase has probably been a good earner for them. That's 160 A-Coins per $1 USD with a 500 for $4.99 deal. Potentially more with the one-time offer 650 AC deal that's flashing lately although they seem to have adjusted the timing on that so it doesn't appear during the Mania event. Of course, if I'm right that would argue that actually it's the carrot that is more effective than the stick, but I'm too cynical to believe that message will get through.
