NOTE: The upgrade section of this post is not meant for people who have a massive Pt stockpile or can afford to insta-max this Titan.
ROLE
The Murometz is mainly a support Titan with similar playstyle to Ao Ming and Nodens, and not likely meant for brawling with sustained exposure. There are two things in particular that you use to support:
The EMP is not a single-target-strike like Typhon, but rather an area blast similar to Nodens suppression that can hit multiple targets within the radius. In this case, you block targets from activating special abilities or using their active modules. If you take a moment to consider the implications of that in real-time combat, you realize how devastating a well-timed well-positioned EMP blast can be.
The proficient use of the EMP requires the player to pay close attention to critical threats throughout the battlefield, and knowing the abilities and general cooldown times of different target mechs. Your job is to stop high priority targets from doing what they do, and from using the most common active modules in use, which are self-protective: repair and Phase Shift. It is important to note that the EMP does not stop an already activated ability, it must be used preemptively. I will use a Hawk as example for the subtleties that influence your decision on timing the EMP.
If you EMP an aerial Hawk, this is wasted because they are already in-flight. Usually they will activate Phase Shift or Repair when they land if there is an immediate threat. If you see such a threat to them, you can EMP them at the very end of their flight cycle and prevent an anticipated use of the active module. Look at the hp bar too. If the conditions aren’t there calling for them to use the module, don’t waste the EMP. Instead, watch their movements and do a general count of their ability cooldown, then EMP them to prolong the time before they can take flight again. Same with other mechs; think about their abilities and know how they work, then you can cause a lot of havoc. You should especially look for enemy clusters to shut them all down simultaneously, and as always, keep an eye on high priority targets so you can troll them with the EMP. The moral of the story is to avoid wasting the EMP and maximize the effect on combat. This is the main role of Murometz.
Hard Rain: The built-in rockets ignore damage resistance, so these will help take down tanks.
UPGRADING
This is my opinion, based on experience and the logic shared in this post.
ENGINE FIRST Since your main job is to block enemy systems, I have exclusively been putting platinum towards maxing the Engine, because you want the effect of the EMP to last as long as it can. This upgrade also increases speed, but that was not my principal consideration here.
CORE SECOND Your secondary job is to use the rockets of Hard Rain to weaken tanks in particular. This upgrade increases the power of the rockets as well as multiplying damage output. This enables you to maximize damage output, especially when you take flight for the brief strike-window.
HULL LAST Quite frankly, I have not found survivability much of an issue just with the base hp stock Murometz comes with. Of course it is important to be more durable, but as you can see here, it does not take front seat over the EMP and maximizing damage output with Engine and Core.
For these reasons, I do not agree with the view of upgrading everything equally as you go. If you do it the way I suggest, you’ll be fulfilling your role more quickly and with more power.
WEAPONS
Seems to me any of the weapons will work well. I would say each of the weapon classes have a place, but it is a fact that Murometz would have greater combat longevity if equipped with brawling weapons like machine guns or taser because you’d be more capable of opposing enemies that close on you. Nonetheless, the rocket, vortex, and sniper builds will also do great against enemies in general. I’m sure you’re aware which weapons perform best against certain threats, so will stop here.
STEALTH FLIGHT & MODULES
It is ideal to use this for evasive maneuvers, to gain elevation for important strikes, and can also be used as additional protection to strike enemy Titans safely provided you are also beyond the range of a single maxed Quantum Sensor in some cases. It should be noted that Murometz is the only Titan with two Universal module slots. I’ll leave the stacking ideas to you, but it is worth mentioning that two maxed Quantum Sensors will allow your radar to acquire a stealth Murometz from 700m, so if it becomes necessary, 600m sniping weapons supported by two Quantum Sensor will allow you to take out the enemy Murometz.
I hope you have found this helpful.

Most players hasn't gotten their hands on Murometz yet... People are definitely winning them but don’t know where to begin or how to really run it. Hence this guide lol

Great post as always! More power to you if you run this titan and I bet it is a ton of fun, but personally I am not too enticed by it. I feel Nodens is a better support titan with its healing and Sharanga/Ao Ming is better for damage. I am not really sure what this titan is precisely good for. That EMP gun is no joke though, it could easily be a death sentence for many bots, so perhaps this titan is a kind of disruptor, but I don’t quite buy into getting a whole titan just for that.

079 It is precisely a disruptor. Blocking enemy systems is no joke, and two Alphas and one Beta is more firepower than Arthur can dish out. We’ve yet to witness what a bunch of these in the field does to gameplay. At the moment I I’d say one or two on a team will cause a lot of trouble. There are also not a lot of maxed Murometz fielded yet, so people quickly destroying a low level Muro and concluding its not good is premature. I was in a maxed Minos about to close on a beacon when an enemy Murometz appeared that I knew was high level. I knew to be very careful and change plans. If he blocked my Reflector and Charge, then took stealth flight to attack, that’d not turn out well for me. I did witness two maxed Muro with Cat/Cyclone dominating the other day, so lets see how it goes.

I have encountered a few of them on the battlefield they due make some impact, but I am personally looking at it more on a conceptual level. There are bound to be more ways to apply EMP to enemies (bots, drones, maybe even a module) in the future (Typhoon already exists, but this EMP operates differently so it is not very comparable), and it does seem like the disruptor bot-type is on the rise, so I am not sure about giving that role to a titan. In my eyes, normal bots fight by having tricks like EMP to surprise opponents with, while titans have supreme firepower and durability to simply plow through normal bots and seize beacons by brute force. Murometz, from what I have seen, plays kind of like Ao Jun, where it keeps by cover until it uses its ability, but this construction makes it poor for pushing beacons. Murometz seems to lack the survivability needed to tank concentrated fire and flies too high to get beacons while stealthed, so it cannot contest beacons and sway the outcome of the battle like Minos, Arthur, and Nodens can. Also, many popular bots like Shell and Fafnir are not exceptionally vulnerable to EMP because they do not cycle through a strong and weak state like other bots do, and as always, drones will save many would-be victims. But of course, like you said, it is still quite early and I may have to eat my words in only a few weeks, but I am not convinced this titan will be a game changer.

From what I've seen, Murometz heavily depends on its Stealth flight and EMP. Without the abilities flight they're very easy to take down, easier than some of the current meta bots. In a way they remind me of a Spectre.

In a way they remind me of a Spectre. Most of them out there now are freshly won and still at stock level 3 (mine included) …thats why they are easy pickins. Wait a few weeks and see if your assessment holds.

Well, it’s been quite a while since this titan was introduced, and it is cool to see how our perception of it has changed (mainly mine in this case!). A lot of stuff has happened since this thread was made, and my outlook on this titan has changed quite a bit.
First things first though, I do still actually agree with my initial posts, believing that the OP does somewhat overhype the EMP gun. I’ve been seeing more and more Murometzes, and only very, very occasionally so I see the EMP gun cause catastrophic trouble to blues or reds. I think out of the over a hundred times I have been EMPed, I have died as a result of it once or twice. This titan has Sharanga Syndrome where people are just spamming the ability without much apparent foresight. I often get EMPed while behind or right next to cover, allowing me to just wait it out. Other times, my ability is already active or has more than five seconds left on the recharge, so the ability is also nullified. Again, there has been some smart users for sure, but even a few months after release, most Murometz players still seem to lack the finesse to properly use the EMP. Maybe it will get better, only time will tell. Also, I just find the EMP effect by itself to be underwhelming, targets can still retaliate or take cover when hit, leading me to stand by my initial statement that Typhon and now Erebus are better EMP bots because they also apply suppression and lock-down to truly disable bots.
But, how has this titan got better? Well, the REALLY big thing was that in the newest update, they fixed the targeting of the Heavy Rain rockets, and man, they are a LOT more powerful. What used to be an unimpressive fireworks show that was blocked by basically any cover and still struggled to hit exposed targets now hits like a ton of bricks and has an uncanny ability to bypass small cover. Additionally, the potential of two universal module slots slipped my mind initially (to be fair, it was not mentioned in much detail in the OP), but after seeing a video where Manni cranked Murometz’s speed to 60kph with Titan Accelerators or that one time a double Quantum Sensor Murometz devastate my team’s stealth (including my Loki), I now know that these things have serious potential when configured correctly.
So, to conclude, while my opinion on this titan has not fundamentally changed, it has evolved to be a more complete look that does not weigh so heavily on the EMP to judge the titan. I win the normal version from the free tokens for the technical compensation and plan to buy coins to get the limited edition version for the ultimate titan rocket build, so fun times are ahead for me and Murometz!

I agree with 079, this Titan keeps getting better as it grows. I keep hoping for Lady Luck to give me a second Striker, and I’ve used 2QS for some time. Neither one is maxed, but my current range is 480m, quite handy,
I usually upgrade a Titan equally to level 30, then level as Oger mentions in OP, but that is my way. I like the initial balance and strength using this procedure. Since Luch is still a rare sighting in the wild, hard to say if that big boy would be better to have, but Muro is better, IMO, than same level Nodens with the sole exception of Honor for healing.
Muro is fun, works well for a big ole fat AG, and deadly when used right. I say go for it!

Interesting: you describe disruption as a BOT role, but I don’t know of any bots that play such a role (maybe I’m just tired?)…and EVERY Titan *IS* disruptive, everything about them including their simple presence underscores that: it seems to me that Pix has designated and designed them explicitly for the purpose.
It’s been a minute now, but I was in a battle on Factory with at least 3 Muro, and when they ALL went up at the same time, blue was shut straight down - between the missiles, the stealth, and the EMP, red could move and act with impunity. Awe-inspiring and a little fear-inducing. It’s why I’m beefing my Zmej - to the point where I’m seriously considering selling my Sharanga (already sold Kid & Arthur)…even the ‘first wave’ weapons are far behind the new crop: an L1 Krait outguns a L23 Retaliator straight out of the box - swapping Noodles’ Retaliators for Kraits was a huge bump to damage dealt: more kills, faster loading on the Monarch charge, shorter reload; and AFAICS, Bulava packs a bigger punch than a same-level Vengeance, so there doesn’t seem much point to even keeping the old gear at all (tho Noodles is safe in his job, at least for the moment).

I wanted to update, as my Muro is quite satisfying to me. I, as always, start bot upgrade even until around 20, then I will follow Ogre path, which is a good one. I am leaning towards this Titan being maybe the best to use, due to its versatility and many good choices for weapon set-ups. It is true one can’t brawl with it, but the Basilisk/Krait set up really does rock! I do stack Quantum Radar, and currently “see” out to 560m I think. If I start using ranged weapons again I’ll bump that up. Anyone else falling in love with this Titan?

I really like this titan. Bumped it up to lvl4 by accident. It does seem to move pretty good on the ground too. Still just running leadhose, good stuff. Also tend to agree that QS is the way to go.

This Titan doesn’t seem too bad off with effects, so AC seems a waste to me. Cannibal reactor might be cool if your ok not using QS. No matter what use premium mods in both uni slots!
