I run a Tempest bot in my long-range TDM hangar deck as an end-game Titan deterrent (Mings and Arthurs hate it) and I am split between mounting my three weapons on either a Falcon or Fury, as both have ups and downs compared to one another. This bot will only be used in TDM, so considerations regarding beacon modes or FFA can be disregarded. Currently I have these going for each bot:
Fury Advantages: 1. Taller, so it can better use cover to have the weapons firing over the top while the bot is hidden 2. All weapons slots are always active and thus are synchronized/available 3. Cheaper to upgrade and maintain
Flacon Advantages: 1. Can jump, allowing for more possible maneuvers 2. Damage resistance 3. 12 kph faster
I have considered bots like Behemoth or Raijin, but I really like being able to move while firing, or do not want to build a whole new bot when Fury and Falcon are adequate for my needs.
Currently I am siding with Fury because that height advantage really does make a difference and the Falcon’s ability not syncing with Tempest’s fire/reload cycle is quite annoying and means I have to waste some shots and time to get them synced again. I also feel Falcon’s survivability is not a huge plus in this case as it won’t do much to help against an angry Titan with resistance mitigation or a Shell/Ravana with 3 times my DPS rushing me. The mobility and jump are a big draw for Falcon though. But I am not fully set on Fury so a good argument for either bot will draw me to its side. What do you guys think?

Falcon all the way. So much more possibilities with it. Speed, DR, fangs out jump attack, yes please. You will get more use out of it I think. Plus if you ever play another mode, then it will really shine vs the fury.

I'm with Eradicator1 with that. Falcon hands down and with Tempests well that's my favourite go to build. Is all about the sync. Cooldown, reload, mag size. It just works. And if you get caught out it has the Falcon tankiness. The old school jump with Shell casings was the best graphic in the game.

Go with Falcon…..or, get 4th Tempest and a Behemoth.

Huh… I swear I remember trying Tempests on Falcon a while ago and the Fangs Out ability duration being too short to unload a full clip, leading to synchronization issues between the central and auxiliary weapon slots. I just tried it in a custom game and as it turns out the ability is just long enough to unload a full clip, meaning the weapons are synced and my biggest issue with the bot is resolved. Guess I’m switching to Falcon, thanks for the feedback!

Go with Falcon…..or, get 4th Tempest and a Behemoth. Rawr!! Over 1 million cycle damage is kinda fun. With the jump module you can get all kinds of fun places and be that AA turret you always wanted to be.

If I recall correctly, the Tempest reload and the Fangs cooldown is pretty close, but that doesn't matter cause the guns on the Fangs will auto reload. What's important is the sync between firing time and ability duration. You may want to make sure you have speed shooter skill.
Just to go out on a limb, as I've used Tempest on the Falcon a lot, I much prefer Dragoons and for a long time, it was my go to MR killer. Another build I loved was Chimera.

In TDM I find myself often perusing a target to get a better firing angle but then 20 seconds later backpedaling because other reds noticed me. This tactic would be a little troublesome with Behemoth. If I ever tried using Tempests in a beacon mode where the reds are forced to come out of hiding to capture beacons then I could definitely consider your idea!

Basil w Sharpshooter (a must for Tempest) makes it a beast out to 700m. And imo, Speedshooter is not necessary.
