Since the last update, whenever I go to play, times are much longer than they used to be, at least double, sometimes waiting minutes after an average of 24s. Sometimes it is quick, sometimes it is 10 minutes. Maybe Pixonic are getting their revenge because I choose not to participate in being seal clubbed. But it isn't just then ... it is very frequent.
This made me wonder, is War Robots/Pixonic in a death spiral?
What is a death spiral in this case? Fewer players, less money, so to increase revenue they change aspects of the game to earn more, annoying more people, causing them to receive less revenue, leading them to change the game's economics .... and so it goes.
The problem is that fewer players also means fewer people playing to justify the spending of $ on this game.
Are other people noticing that it takes longer to form games?

My favorite is this one: People: the sky is falling [X] is OP and ruining the game! The same people: omg can you believe they nerfed [X]! Its [X+1] that is OP now and needs a nerf. Its ruining the game! Still the same people: they should buff [X] back to where it was. Mine doesn't perform like it used to and I need it to fight [X+2] now. |

True, but I think the consistently ongoing increase in wait times is legitimately worrisome. After the Platform Merge, most BR wait times for me (upper to mid Champions League) were 10-20sec. Now they are 40-50sec (with both Android and iOS in the mix). This is not a flash in the pan, but has been a gradual and relatively consistent increase in wait times. There was a single jump shortly after Drones release, which I think drove out a sizable number of players. In a fairly short time period, MM times jumped from 10-20 to 20-30. Since then it’s been a gradual erosion. I still see new spenders (decent Titans and fresh meta hangars w 1.9-1.12 bots/weapons) with fewer than 1000 wins. But it feels like War Robots is losing active players faster than they are gaining new ones. My fear is that there will be a sharp inflection point when MM times increase enough to start the snowball/avalanche of players leaving. |

Games are a lot harder to find and I'm seeing the same players over and over.
Rage quit after coming up against the same squad 5 games in a row. One of those times I was on their side for some reason LoL.
Then I get put against all expert/master level players FFS!
I'm thinking it's because a lot of players are still having trouble with the latest update?

It's assuredly because of the update issues. Amazon hasn't even gotten the update, so we're all still in our own server space, and our wait times are probably averaging a minute. We also see the same players over and over...
But I don't mind. I think it's fun to play recurring games with and against names that I remember.

I'm still not playing like I used to, usually just 1-5 matches a day if I have time after work, family time then my typical evening stock market review if I can keep my eyes open. I would have quit gaming entirely already if it weren't for the community and the VØX guys being cool with my schedule. |

Then it’s War Robots’s umpteenth death spiral and we’re all doomed!
Latest update is a mess for sure, 80% of my matches are down at least one player.
If my clock hits 30 seconds, I just start again and usually within 10 seconds I will land in a nice, normal, unbalanced match a few seconds in.

It's a 「dookie」 show. It has been for 3 or 4 years now. But, it's like: Somebody will exclaim, "it's 「dookie」." We shrug and say, "eh, we're use to it."
Death spiral-na. Too many flies on the internet that enjoy paying to bully someone.

you know this is the same thing i pointed out before my account exp a lost of progress now has gone missing and get this when i went ot he game and the new account was there i posted the missing progress and he fact that it was attached to my apple id and today no response wait the issue was removed nothing there and when i tried again to post the issue guess what game crashes sent email using the site contact and low and behold no response not even a got you complaint or issue not sure what can be down but i am in the letter writing mood hoping the CEO cares and will do something

Since the latest update my games freezes after 1 minute of game play. Pixionic don't feel in a hurry to fix the issue. So I might start looking for other mech games to check out.

I agree that wait times are bad, but I'm not sure if it's a game issue or lack of players issue. It seems to have accelerated recently and that could mean that the MM is glitched. I do think we need to watch this though because if it the player pool is thinning quicker than usual then the standard pixonic fix will amplify the problem.
And I can go back to squads of ancilots running over folks and players quitting because of the power gap. Or think about the dash bot release when it was $100 for haechi. Those were insane times and f2p player outcry was at its peak and what does pix do... release the specter lol.
I'm pretty numb to it now.

I play with him on his account occasionally but I just can't get over the cartoony graphics. The gameplay is pretty slick though. I've had to cut way back on gaming, and did completely there for months. I agree about the cartoon graphics, but I'd rather have a fun smooth game than deal with all the bs of War Robots. My kids War Robots diamond account can't even get through a full match, and even when it does there are so many other issues. In MA there are a lot of ai, but there's a lot of players too and the global release will increase player base. Hope all's been well for you and the fam and friends ✌🏻 |

I gotta say things (the decay) have been speeding up. But then there's this old adage: never underestimate the amount of fuel available in dumpster fire.
PS. I have been watching Mech Arena videos by Foggy and Islander and would love to join but it's in beta and not available on Steam or amazon. Lately there has been talk about Mech Arena introducing pilots, which raises concerns about them following similar path as War Robots. Money talks...

I wonder if the longer waits times is because platforms are still segregated. I’m iOS and after battle can view all hangars. Or maybe they implemented cross-platform viewing finally.

Last update really messed up my game play so told pix about it and have not played since. just collecting the free stuff (ad watch) for the last 3wks or whenever that update was. Got another update today most probs to fix the last one they messed up but I'm still not going to play until Pix pays me bk the money i lost buying operations only for Pix's update to make the game unplayable

Found this: www.pocketgamer.biz/news/76024/war-robots-shoots-through-500-million-in-lifetime-revenue/Key points: War Robots has reached 500M in revenues and keeps growing revenues every year. This might be just a positive spin on things by Pixonic; it's possible they were in for revenue decline last year but got bailed out by pandemic/lockdowns. But I also think it's safe to say that Pixonic is finding ways to have at least some players pay more. Regardless, it's a result that many mobile games would love to have. A side note: while back on this forum we have estimated War Robots revenues to be 6M a month. 500M/ (7 years x 12 months) - 5.94 M. Turns out on average we were pretty close. Another side note: “We created a good game for hundreds of thousands of people playing it every day. But now is not the time to stop. We plan to expand the world of War Robots into a global franchise.” Wonder what that means, expansion to consoles or maybe War Robots themed cups and t-shirts?  Certainly more monetization to come. |
