Does it not strike anyone else as odd that they’ve supposedly been working on clans for about a year, and they’re asking now what people want from them? This is stuff you do before you ever start designing anything, assuming you had any intentions of listening to your customers in the first place. I’m thinking for as long as they’ve been putting this off, it has to be at least 80% written already, well past the point of including any significant new features. They’re going to cherry pick the ideas from the survey that they’ve planned on implementing all along, and then say “see, we give our players what they ask for.” Oldest developer trick in the book.
I’m not too jaded, am I.

This is stuff you do before you ever start designing anything, assuming you had any intentions of listening to your customers in the first place. Iâm not too jaded, am I. Nah, that's how that works. Clans are mostly an aesthetic system unless they are sticking rewards or microtransactions to them. They would have definitely been worthless without custom match, which is significantly more of a pain to program than a specialized "friend list" that adds 3-4 letters to player names. They're testing the waters to make sure it'll be well recieved. As one of the longest standing community "asks", messing it up would be kicking themselves in the 「bum-bum」.
