So I left this game a while ago, probably when the Jaeger bot was about to be released, and am sorta thinking of coming back. I saw the new Orochi bot on YouTube randomly and that reminded me so much of an upgraded Carnage which I love piloting so much. So I'm thinking of reinstalling the game and giving it a whirl, but before I do that I was wondering what the hell has changed/not changed since I was gone. Any tips on the current state of the game and what to focus on would be appreciated too

It will be a while before you get orochi in ws, like around 5 months 4. Drone meta is on currently 5. New map- abyss (it's quite good). 6. Titan shocktrain meta coming right up 7. 7th aniversarry evens is on. 8. Ming is basically dead. 9. Be prepared to be blasted with new releases. 10. oh and every bot has purple, blue and yellow sheilds now.

you can no longer play a short range loadout like in the days of the orkan - unless you have all Shells or Ravana's. Wasps and pulsars flow like milk and honey, and they are 600m. you should aim for at least one bot with 3/4 med hardpoints with these. if you post your hanger, im sure ppl could easily tell you what your missing to be competitive.

oh yeah, and shoot for balanced unit or overdrive module, don't bother wasting resources on thermo-noob-clear reactor or heavy armor kit. the numbers just aren't even close since that release recently. waste of Au.

Explain overdrive for me plz. Because I don't see how 10% damage at critical health is better than 5 always

It helps more when you maximise your damage capacity with other available options like freezer chips, death mark etc.

I can't play broken bull「dookie」 with bots TPing everywhere and Shells being able to dodge 90% of my Glacier rockets and flames even though I have Lockdown Chips. PS Welcome back?

TheDecepticonIdeal . Not much has changed. It's still the 50% win/loss no matter what you play. Diamond is where it's at. A fair amount of diversity. Still get some great edge of the seat games. Everytime I see a Carnage I look for your tag. Starts like ends like . You know what you're getting into. Find your fun.

Yo bro! Welcome back. Deff play again. Still the poop show it always has been just with new smells. Still having fun most games.
I ran my Carnage for a week when you left. I have not idea how you did it. Cause I got slaughtered.
I do currently run one in six pak with Zeus’s. Thing is a monster!
Long live the Carnage King!

I agree with the sentiments conveyed above. If you simply want to move about shooting robots and want to try out various builds, it's still enjoyable. If you're all about league ranking and winrate and fairplay, you'll be driven away again. Establish and manage your own fun and you'll be fine.

Or, skip the reinstall and come over to Mech Arena! There aren't any mechs like the Carnage, but the Paragon has a Rush ability similar to Carnage, and the Juggernaut has an all over shield. All mechs have a sprint mode for about 3 seconds too.

Explain overdrive for me plz. Because I don't see how 10% damage at critical health is better than 5 always Its not so much about Overdrive VS Thermo, but more about what is a valid optoin for the resource you spend. Its that Balanced unit gives you 8%Damage and 9% Durability (maxed). Thermo gives you 10% Damage only (maxed). So you can invest heavily in Thermo and you get an extra 6% damage if you have 3 maxed, but loose out on 27% HP if you had 3 maxed B.Unit. it makes no sense as Balanced unit is simply stronger. For overdrive, it remains valid because you can stack 3 up to 75% damage and it will start at 70% HP. Its a strategy that still compares to B.unit when you add the numbers. IMO

IMO Jesus so 3 maxed Overdrive will trigger at 75%health and stay the rest of the match? The description is so vague so I was never sure on that. Anyway ty.

TheDecepticonIdeal: Hi! Great to see you! A new healer bot, Demeter, is out. And is a PitA. Mostly because of the Demeter center beacon battles on Carrier have devolved into this silly, laggy, furball that you just run around chasing your tail hoping to shoot things and they miss you. Redonk-a-donkulous. There is room for non-meta bots like the Hades. I run it late game and the purple princess bubble can be QUITE helpful.

Hey bud, from my perspective and knowing your playstyle like I do, you will be MORE frustrated with the current state of the game. Pretty much everything has a magic shield now, the time window to actually hit what you’re shooting at before it goes into invisible unicorn mode has shrunk quite a bit IMO. Orochi looks hella fun, but realistically it won’t be obtainable unless you drop some cash in the short term. Like poop said, if you just want to shoot at other bots, kill them, (then watch them spawn their scorpion and kill you back with comical vengeance), then play on.
Thought of you recently after I scored a nice kill on a Ming with a jumping point blank shotgun facial at full apex with my Carny. Of course I was dead before I hit the ground, but it was worth it.

I started playing again after two years. Last time I left was around June 2019. That means my best bots were a couple of purple princesses but it turns out my Bulwark with Dragoons are still good with the right map, and so is my Ao Jun with Avengers. My Tyrs and Fenrirs were still good too and so are my Falcons, one Traditionalist, and another I got a legendary pilot fitted. I maintain two active hangers. But a lot of other mechs struggled, including my Mercury. I payed my Pixonic taxes, and by buying out bargains and getting good rolls, got too many Scorpions and Skywalkers that I can use (is that correct, that flying thing that heals). But the Scarab Leech and a Cerberus too. Along the way I was able to acquire some new Titans to replace the free Kid, a Nodens, an Ao Ming and the red Minos. I only have two drones, the standard free one, and one I won on the lottery. Recently landed a Ravana and a Jaeger.
It wasn't hard to get new weapons and bots but I do not have enough resources to upgrade them. Instead, I ended up upgrading my old bots and weapons, building on what I already have. The bot I depend on the most is my Hades on close maps and the Bulwark on the more open maps. I was a bit surprised that the old Bulwark was still useful.
The game is very frustrating with the Scorpions, and everything seems decided by who can throw the most powerful Titan in the field. Matches are very intense, and very close. There are more games that I can remember now that went down the wire than before. Unlike before, the game doesn't rush you to the higher leagues so liberally, which is a good thing, because you really want to stay in the lower leagues, until you get better hardware. Very few of my assets are Mk2, only one mech, plus a bunch of older pre 2019 weapons. Streaks for losses and wins are not that long anymore, so your win-loss zigzags hover around 50% more than having a long win streak that puts you at 70%, followed by a massive loss streak that dumps you at 30% before climbing again. Despite having older bots and weapons, my average damage seems double of what it was in 2017-19, although I do not think my bots and weapons are proportionally upgraded. The environment feels far more target rich this time, full of HP, instead of thin HP robots like dashbots and Specters.
I look around my hanger and there are way too many pieces here and there, unleveled bots and weapons, like some wasps, here, hornets there, some Vipers here, a Loki there. I think the Blitz might still be useful but my Pursuer now struggles.
