Hey all,
My friend asked me whether the Deathwing Ao Jun or Imperial Hades was better. He's been playing since the game came out (although had some year-long gaps now and then), just like me and I don't know how to answer the question.
Thanks,
:7

The game is not 1v1 unless players choose to do that in a custom battle, plus both bots are very different.
My Imp Hades wastes all types of AJs regularly because I carry Quantum Radar, so I bait them to take flight to burn me, hit Quantum Radar and ability, down they go.
However, if I am fighting another red and my ability is in cool down, then a red Ao Jun comes after me, it will be my end if I can’t cover fast enough.
1v1, easy Hades win. In battle, Hades still way better IMO, but Ao Jun can have its moments. Hades can still move very well and fight during cooldown, Ao Jun must hide, easy kill during cooldown from all bots.

I think the question is which one is better looking and tbh there is no right answer both are awesome. Having said that, this is probably the best aspect of this game. The special edition bots (other than fendeer) are really, really good looking. Some more than others, but these 2 are definitely at the top of the list...

But Ao Jun is better against Shells, and Hades is an overall decent bot.

I have both similarly leveled and Hades is much higher up my favorites list. I do like the Jun but think it`s an easy kill (usually) on the ground. Keep the Hades near to them with PS and Ability to avoid getting scorched and then take them out with the sonics when they land (usually).

My Hades stops anything flying…. so long as the purple bubble (The Purple Butpee) lasts.
I’ve never noticed a Hades standing out when flying my Ao Ming, everything does to quickly to take note- if I have the time to identify what it is then I have wasted time better spent killing it.
Some units put up purple bubbles and you notice it in their life bar when flying over. When that happens I try to move on. Anything showing a purple burpee will disappoint a flying unit. I’ve heard something called a Mercury (undoubtedly I’ve faced it but can’t identify it in a police lineup) using a Hellburner can get the Hades even with the burpee bubble but I’ve never died from the flying units shooting fire at me while protected, but I will die quickly after, or when someone casually Strolls up and flanks me while I’m focusing on someone else. Hades isn’t invincible.
I personally like what I’ve seen of the Ares. There is a third bot in the family I’ve never looked up I’m thinking most likely throws the purple burpee out as well. Supposedly the Hades is balanced (for the time being) the best to what others needs. I’m currently a beacon runner and after my phantom is killed and I see red closing in to my captured beacon, my Imperial Hades is the first I whip out as it can hold off multiple units and take them out even using crap weapons. I can usually kill them or convince them to leave and then I push another beacon. It is my only reliable mech in being able to do this currently. Rest just brawl and lurch.
If your play style differs then look into the other bots, something is gonna fit in the purple burpee family of bots.

Thems fightin words, Mister! I mean look at me. I’m gorgeo... um, I’m really good lo... er, I’m not that bad... well, OK, ya got me. I am indeed one of the fugliest bots in the game. But back to the OP, I vote Hades.

Both are solid bots, great looking special editions too.
Personally, Love the Jun. Used to run 2 in the hangar: one with 2.12 Avengers / LD (still use it now) great for controlling beacons, and hunting down pesky Loki, The other with 2.12 dragon Calamity / LD (no longer use as much) as a direct counter to other Au Jun.
Key is cover, situational awareness, and surgical control of the field.
Love the feel of gliding through the battle, coming at red from unexpected angles, Coming to rescue of team mates, and hunting down over extended Mings.

First of all at a basic stats level they have similar firepower. The Hades is slightly faster and has slightly more HP.
Hades is easier to run. It has much better beacon capping ability, get into the beacn circle, pop up your shield and it pretty well guarantees that the beacon will turn blue. It has a wider spectrum of viable weapon/modules. The Legendary Pilot for the Hades is about the worst in the game, so you have to go Adrian or Sam if you want a decent Legendary Pilot.. Itks cnsdered alower threat level, so reds will not chase you down to kill you as much as an Ao Jun.
Ao Jun has the best legendary pilot in the game, giving it a free quantum radar. The Ao Jun does much more damage with it’s ability and with the Stealth Flight ability gives it good overall mobility.. It is forced into a peek-a-boo play style. There are relatively fewer weapons/modules that are viable. It is cheaper to complete because you only need to upgrade 2 weapons not 3. In the current meta it does better against Shells, especially with LD ammo.
Both are strong. The Ao Jun is more specialized killer. The Hades is the general survivalist. I tend to keep my Hades in my rotation more than my Ao Jun because I find playing peek-a-boo frustrating.
