I really haven't run any flames since the dominating days of my Ember Mercury... But alas Pix dropped the heavy nerf hammer.
Since then, I've found myself with several flames of all varieties but haven't leveled any besides my beloved Ember. I really want to put some of these burners to work, but I'm struggling with deciding which bot to throw them on.
If you had any bot available, which one would you choose to build out in an all flame setup?

Flaming Fenrir makes a good anti shell opener. YMMV.

Yes... recently built up my Fenrir with all flames as a counter to the waves of Shells you see in the opening minutes. Melts them like cheese.

Run a Hades, weapons directly swap and it's maintained a pseudo meta state for a while, a good intermittent brawler and titan harrasser.

Like its already been said I think personally the most powerful flame platform is fenrir bar none. Otherwise, maybe flame shell, Leo and phantom when I had it.
Basically Amy mech that has the sustain to sit there and spew out several reloads of flame in one run.

I run flames on my Tyr, Scorpion and Ao Jun. Occasionally, I put them on my Strider and Fenrir. All of those set ups work well for me.

I’ve run Fire + Ice on one of my Fenrirs specifically as an anti-shell device. I add in LD ammo as flames are the only thing that reliably locks down the shells. It’s pretty beastly, but for this set up I think Linda + Fortifiers is better than Wolff because so many shells are carting sonics about, And since my highly leveled pilot is Wolff I’ve gone back to another setup. I used to run a Fire and Ice Ao Jun, and that had some really good value, but I’m not a fan of the peek-a-boo play style so I have that in strategic reserve. I am rebuilding my Blitz to be Fire and Ice too, but that’s still being workshopped.
Fire demands either a bot with the ability to hang around in brawling distance for a long time or a bot that can get in then get out quickly.
I’ve found fire + ice together work better than fire alone, but YMMV.

If you do run a bbq Fenrir as an opener..... I find that Road Hog pilot skill is a must, speed boosters too if you have them. Without it you’ll prob get to the beacon too late to contest it effectively.
Another thing to watch for is the Shell detonation.... it can move you quite a bit in ‘speed’ mode, but hardly affects you at all in ‘defense’ mode. Take that into account when charging in. If you have enough blues contesting the beacon, switch to defense mode when you’re in detonation range to ensure you don’t get blown too far back..... then open up on them, and turn their prized meta bot into solder!
Shells with sonic weapons are your greatest enemy, so target them first...... if you run drones, then defence chips mitigate these weapons far better than healing chips...... forewarning and emergency defender are my picks.
Happy bbqing 😎

Happy bbqing 😎 I just put FenDeer in the 10=>11 upgrade oven. Quite effective as a flame platform. Wolff with a few of the main skills @ T4 and eventually either 2x HAKs or 2x unBUs (unBalanced Units). I even landed T4 AdRH as a promotion-assigned skill. It wasn’t my first choice, but worth keeping imo.

Full Flames would be better in crowd, but we gotta use what we got. I never got Linda, but was running Angry Santa for a while. I got Wollf in a Gold chest and have been giving her a try. That is one damn tanky combo.

Anyone with experience running flames on phantom recently? I have maxed out cryo weapons on my phantom now and am considering switching it over to flames. Paging Oliver Kloesov , Oliver please report to your nearest forum courtesy phone. LMAO. Well... Let's see... Fair warning: Long time Phantom fan, but, I've had the time to max the bad boy 1 x Balanced Mod, 2 x HAKs, AH active module, maxed legendary pilot. I was a big fan of tasers on Phantom, buuuu-uu-uuut, because of frickin' Shells I switched to flames. Pros of flames:Slice right-through Shell shields like a sharp slicey thing through a warm, gooey thing. Because I use suppression chip(s) it can really ruin their day. Penetrate blue/ancile shields. (Admittedly, like most things.) Hard hitting. Once they reload you are doing 100% damage out to 350m. Already been through buffing/nerfing shenanigans and they are good as-is. Flames don't need to lock-on like tasers. They don't need a pilot skill to make them better. And Flames don't need a participation trophy. Accumulate effects like suppression pretty well. A little more range than Sonics, which can help here and there. Cons of Flames:Can be quite tricky to aim especially at a laterally moving target at 300m. 350m isn't the best range ever. Good enough I guess. Cons of Cryos on Phantom:If you play beacon games I'm no fan of freezy-rockets on Phantom. You dash in, give'em hell, and then pew-pew or Blink back. Giving them the beacon. Cryos on a Nightingale are a blast, but not Phantom. Don't sell your leveled Cryos for a paltry amount of Ag, they are still worthwhile. FWIW, Phantom isn't uber-meta anymore but I run it as a quick beacon runner and I'm too stubborn/poor/smart to run a 2 x Demeter, 2 x Shell, 1 x Hawk hangar. The Phantom will just have to work for now. I hope this helps. Good hunting!

Flaming Fenrir makes a good anti shell opener. YMMV. Secret build on my FenDeer. Tell NOBODY: I run Pulsars and Ember. Weird, right? It can work but like everything in this crazy game you never have the right bot/weapon combination for the situation. The pulsars are great at lock-down/harassing/suppressing and if they are in range of the Ember I can roast away. And I'm running "Burnadette" (see what I did there) so the Fen can take a beating while holding a beacon. YMMV.

My secret is the old Scourge Ember, the lock on isn't ideal but you can lead with the Ember and tickle away with the Scourges. Works well with Linda, stow the Ember for reloads and so I can mash the big red button outside of 350. The biggest problem is the Scourges light up the hit marker which makes it hard to dial in the Ember's lead. Plus Linda is shockingly hot!

With Orochi and nitro module coming, flames and cryo might have a hard time. Lockdown will be necessary against Orochi.

I run a Fire Tyr® and have had good luck with it. It is usually my first or second bot depending on the map I am given.

You guys are making me want to level up my flame weapons. Those things are crazy expensive to level, though. Yeah. Ive had plenty. Special editions too but never got past lvl 4 on them for the crazy price and time.
Nevermind how hard they are to actually master. The players who run them are usually so far ahead of the curve its clear Im just insulting them when I try to go flame 4 flame so i just put them down and cracked on.

I have a sacrificial bot slot that has a flame Invader. It's fun and sometimes gets kills in a row. Frustratingly slow but if you time your jumps right you can use a Shell to fly to the red home beacon.

I run flames Tyr as well. Lockdown module helps to keep them still and then burn burn burn baby!
Tyr's physical shield help to stay alive against sonic Shells. My Fenrir dies too fast against sonics :/
Stay safe!
