I'm actually a bit crabby that I have to make this post, so I'll try not to make this a rant, but there are SO many players out there that don't understand how to play alongside a nodens.
It's maddening.
So, here are a few super basics that people without nodens should know in order to maximize your winningness and reduce confusion and frustration for all parties:
1) My priority is other titans unless I deem you a priority target; Either way you'll know in a hurry where you are on the list. I'm not being an 「bum-bum hole」, but the only reason I'll heal you in your trident fury is if we are losing and I want to pad my numbers. Besides, if I'm in my nodens and you're still in your fury, we probably lost because of you anyway.
2) Stop Bunching Up It is WELL established that the system for targeting reds is 「fluffernutter」ing MISERABLE at best, and targeting blues for healing is even worse.
Spread out.
3) I can't heal everyone, so calm the 「fluffernutter」 down and just SIT there if your bot is a mess. I see you, I PROMISE.
4) Get the 「fluffernutter」 out of my way! This goes for any titan really, but especially nodens. I'm slow and can't hide like regular bots, and as a nodens, I am enemy number 1 for the other team. So pretend like you want me to heal you and let me hide when I need to.
5) Yes, I'm good in my nodens, but I'm not THAT good, so don't be an idiot and run out and charge 3+ bots. I can't heal you out of that kind of damage; you WILL die and then I'll be 「fluffernutter」ed.
6) FFS, if you're in an arthur, or ESPECIALLY a minos, wait for me. I see you I promise, and I'll be your best friend, but you HAVE to let me get into position. If you just go charging in without me being prepared, well, see number 5.
And lastly
7) If you're in an ao ming, fFs, do NOT hang out directly above me. I won't heal you because I can't see you.
So if you see me on the blue side in my nodens, help a brother out and play smart. I'll do my level best to keep you alive.
That will be all.

As a fellow Nodens driver this rings very true.

Just had a match where I had 3 Blues dithering about at D for minutes. I sauntered my way from A to C across the middle because we were so down on beacons. A Nodens isn’t the right mech to spend any length of time 30m from the Red home beacon but there I sat waiting for those people to get it in gear. Arthurs: you have a freaking SHIELD. Stop playing like you’re in a Leo. No idea how we did it, but Blue pulled out the win. Cheers to my other two teammates who kept up pressure from B.

Good tips! Can you add 2 more to your list?
1. When an blue Arthur shoots at you, he is telling you that he is going to push for a beacon or push the line forward and wants your backup. Heal him and give support fire, esp at bots running round to his side or back.
2. Spawn your noden as soon as you see your teammates are spawning their titans to counter enemies titans. Hate it when my Arthur is dead or almost dead, then I see 1 or more nodens start spawning.

The lack of being able to target specific Blues is one of the things that keeps me from investing in my Lvl 3 Nodens. Hopefully, that gets fixed one day since I really enjoy the actions/minute offered by Noodles and it’s potential for meaningful contribution.

I'm an Arthur driver and I approve this message. Also, sorry for all the times I lose SA and go wandering off without my noodles. What's interesting is that Nodens has become my second favorite partner for my Tyr, after Arthur. Tyr can't keep up with Minos, so you keep the big boys banging, and I'll watch your flank and keep you topped up (and maybe even steal your repair honor)

As a Nodems operator: agree with OP. Targeting heals is a PITA, with blues’ bunching, and often curse: ‘move you %£%^”’ so I can heal the guy about to die....
I also hate it when we need a beacon and 3 Arthur’s decline to move forward to try and take it, hiding away. look Duds, that’s why I’m there, to heal you as you make that move!

Read the post.
The way I understand it, the answer to this is "Mind your business and dont worry about what the Nodens is ready for. He will get to you when he gets to you.
And if he doesnt, it was because he didnt think you were important or a priority."
I think youre asking a really fair question because there are a load of noodles in battle who think they are helping just because they are on the field. They dont seem to understand the things they do to cost us the game sometimes.

Thunderkiss I really like this thread. Even if it is crabby. As a learning Noodle pilot I can see that I have a lot to learn. Except the “don’t hide and do nothing” part. If anything I have to be a little more conservative as I play like an Arthur at times. I wish they could tweak the heal beam selection. Sometimes it’s impossible to heal the guy you want to beacause, as you say, they are all bunched-up.

Lets name some ways..... I start moving pushing towards a beacon (this means go) I shoot your way then the way we should go (this means go) I nudge you forward (this means go) Its not rocket science if you are trying to work with people in the game. Just like at start I will shoot at someone and a direction to say hey bud lets work together and head over there.

I’ve seen nodens help lose more games than they’ve helped win. Maybe because Arthur has been out longer and tends to be a little more leveled, but they tend to push for beacons and win. It’s insane to me when cowards sit there as the beacon bar grinds down and they just won’t even try.... and a disproportionate number of them seem to be noden operators. Correlation between bots and personality does seem to exist. I’m the reckless idiot in the ox Minos charging around and taking their back beacon, hoping just one blue has the guts/brains to use that distraction to push and take center. Doesn’t always work but when it does it’s far more satisfying than hide and lose could ever be. I’ve watched countless victories after I mech out where I lit just enough beacons to give us the win even though the other team has numbers in the end. Doesn’t get better than that.

I find it hilarious blaming noodles for most your losses as when I play they are normally the factor that makes for a win. As we all know there are people that play Bots well and there are people that do not play well. Of course league could have something to do with it. the noodle requires more thinking (awareness) to do well than Arthur or Minos IMO. Happy hunting and good luck out there. PS I will say a prayer for you, hoping you are loved by noodles often and have a change of heart.

Yeh. As the saying goes ‘it cuts both ways’. Noodles isn’t strong enough [mines maxed] to take on a key beacon on its own, with other Red Titans lined up to shoot you down. I love seeing a Minos do the hard yards, and seek to back them up with heals and suppression as needed. You may not see me, but I hope you ‘feel me’ x

Trust me, I get more than “a” beacon with my minos.... and my type A brain is doing a 100 miles an hour as I scan the field and plot max damage/confusion/bacon capture. The Minos is the LEAST forgiving titan to pilot. One mistake and get caught not charged up, you’re dead. Only now that I have pak and self healing unit do I have anything resembling titan durability.

If a loss is a forgone conclusion then fight and die on beacons anyways. I'm not going to retreat or hide from reds on a key beacon ever. If my silver bots can walk to center to die against a pile of reds in the final moments then so can your titan. Get out from behind that wall and die with honor. But it's really those Arthurs that should be shamed. Get out from behind that with your million HP 「bum-bum」 and go waddle towards a beacon.

As a match is going, you never know if a Nodens is a masters Nodens or a champs Nodens.
Masters players most likely choose Nodens to pad their damage/honor scores. As such their upgrade path focuses on the Core first. With Hull or Engine being last. I expect these to remain behind walls. Big props if they corner shoot while doing it.
Champs players will most likely have maxed their Nodens in addition to adding on Plated Armor and/or Cannibal. They can make a push, but can also be melted down quickly if it's too hot.
The point is, you can't really expect a Nodens to push into a contested beacon because there are two very different play styles. In the end though, a moderately leveled Core on a Nodens can change the game if it stays alive.
What I hope a Nodens would do though is at least follow the push if it's not pointless suicide.

Yeh. As the saying goes âit cuts both waysâ. Noodles isnât strong enough [mines maxed] to take on a key beacon on its own, with other Red Titans lined up to shoot you down. I love seeing a Minos do the hard yards, and seek to back them up with heals and suppression as needed. You may not see me, but I hope you âfeel meâ x But at least try. Just had a match three Arthurs sat behind cover while were down beacons and made my noodles go out alone to get beacons. Fools could not even figure out I would support them if they moved. I died, we lost.
