"Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment." Ben Browder Stargate-SG1 Episode 300.
I just spent about an hour reading the reviews on the play store on this game. As someone who has played war robots since Jan 2017 I have watched this game grow into something. In 2017 and 2018 I used to be able to show this game to almost anybody and they would download it and jump right in. Every day after work my neighbors and I would all get together and squad up and play for hours. Earning new bots weapons and points for events. The game was good. $10 usd used to get you quite a bit and you didnt feel let down after spending it. Of those 30 or so people I used to play with in that small community that blew up from my word of mouth I am the only one who still plays. I am still friends with these people I still talk to them and hang out with them. But I can not get one of them to download war robots and try it out again. They all know that this game is to expensive for them to play now.
The operations pass is complete garbage now. You can buy all the rewards for less if you keep an eye on the shop for $1.99 flash sale items. Used to be if I played really hard and spent $15 I could get the new robot near the end of the pass.
In July of 2020 black market chest only had 20 items in them. And 70% of the rewards given were gold or silver.
As of March 2021 black market chest have over 50 items in them and still 70% of the rewards granted are gold silver or power cells.
The special events, such as the Lunar new year event did the same thing. Used to be 15-20 items you could get. Now there are over 50 possible randomized items in which you receive 3 face down cards which you get to take a chance on getting something that you want. Still 70% of the time you get gold or power cells.
I recently spent $300 on lunar new year coins because I realized that the -800 clan points I had accumulated was simply because I didnt have scatter havoc or devastator. Cant compete when you dont have what everyone else has. I mean what's the point in having drone microchips that repair your bots if you cant repair sound weapon damage. What's the point of having healing bots if they cant repair sound damage.
Out of that $300 spent I get a Demeter, and a tiger scatter. I did collect enough components for 3 full devastators and 2 havocs. So $300 got me 6 weapons and a robot and 50k power cells. Oh and an ox minos. But why would I switch to it when I have a lvl 108 Nodens with maxed out armor reactors and weapons. It will cost me nearly 20k platinum to catch it up to my Nodens.
I read that a few people are talking about the exchange rate. I used to be a pretty high end player of a game called "Blaze of Battle" my clan leader would spend $100 every day on that game. He explained that he had a bank account in china and played the game on his phone using a vpn to spoof his location to china. Using his Chinese debit card and vpn he was able to get $1000 dollars worth of in game stuff for that $100 usd. So yes conversion rate does come into play on mobile gaming. The same principal applies to every slg game out there there is a reason why russia and china rule every slg mobile game out there and its because the exchange rate when applied to google play or Iphony video games is not the same.
I have sent yet another "report abuse" request to game devs. Who wants to place bets on what the response will be? I think it will be this.

Nothing else will be said no comment nothing personal no empathy just a pre selected response that completely ignores the concerns of a long time player. I think the only way we will see an improvement is if we the players stood together and refused to play the game until the changes we want have been realized. How to organize such a thing? I am not sure about that. But I do know that if suddenly America stopped playing Pixonic would notice and changes would be made.
