So, I'd been trying to figure out what to do with my Typhon, Leech, and Spectre. I've finally decided I'm going to keep Hydras on the Spectre and equip Pulsar/Wasp on the Leech. Watching a stewpendous video (welcome back to youtube!) the other day, I saw he was using Molot-Ts on his Spectre. That inspired me to use Molots on my Typhon.
Even at 1/8, I'm seeing quite a bit of promise for annoying people already. Beautiful!
Here's why I'm posting here. In researching skills for my pilot, I'm trying to figure out whether I want to pursue Sharpshooter or Speedshooter (or both). I've done some research online (including this thread) prior to posting here unfortunately everything seems to be Punisher-focused and nothing recently. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't found anything from AYGIR.
Does anyone have any actual info (data) about Sharpshooter vs Speedshooter for Molots? Or even the equivalent for Tempests?

This fits perfectly in the FU hangar Remastered.

I'd be happy to test with you in a Custom Match. I have a Basil LongRange pilot with Molot-Ts and both 'shooter skills at T3. My opinion is that if you think you're going to often be at 600-800m then you want to prioritize Sharpshooter. You could maybe keep Speedshooter at T1/T2 to save the Au. Let me scrounge around for vids for you... Leech/Molot T intel video:

Back in the day, Speedshooter was much less desirable than Sharpshooter, for Molots, due to them having the range to make up for the slower spin-up. IDK if that is still true, but that was the thought (very summarized) at the time I was running both weapons. Punishers needed both in varying degrees; Sharpshooter was still a bit more desired, but with Speedshooter being more helpful to turn up the burst in CQB, it was worth a skill slot, too.
Not sure if an argument can be made for Speedshooter Molots, now, with all of the quick flying air mechs in the current environs, or not. Taking pot shots at things not in the air long would probably benefit from the skill, but laying down suppressive or anti-Ming fire from 700m, probably wouldn't... at least... not enough to take up a slot (if you are on a budget, that is, if you are able to max the pilot, just get it). Of course something could have changed from back then, I guess... IDK.
I don't have any actual data, however, so probably not too helpful... just a thought.

I'll be interested to learn about this two. I have a good pilot for my Hades but none of the skills are weapon-specific. I'm thinking about building up a second pilot for the Hades to run with the Tempest/Molot configuration.

Thanks for the info, but what I'm looking for is something along the lines of the videos AYGIR does where he tracks different data.
Here's an example:
I don't have the gold to go screwing around with pilot skills like that. I also have never run the test server. Is this something that could be done in a custom match there so you don't have to blow through gold to test?

Well, I could swap pilots. We could try a pilot with no 'shooter skills vs one with. At 799m you could see what you think.

I have run Spectre/Molot T not too long ago. You will want both sharpshooter and speedshooter skills. Sharpshooter is more important IMO. But speedshooter will make a noticeable difference too because it takes soooo long for Molots to spin up to full damage. I'm actually working on my Basil pilot right now, to bring my Molots back to life.

Poopface Imo, Speedshooter isn’t worth the skill slot, it doesn’t change total damage and only provides a small net increases in cycle DPM edit - Speedshooter at 66% reduction in speedup time saves 1 second in total cycle time for a ~5% net bump in DPM. Not terrible, but nothing close to Sharpshooter benefits. As for Sharpshooter.... I just did a fresh test using one full clip of a 2.12 Tempest center mounted on Falcon v Smurf Griffin at 796m even terrain, spawn to spawn on Shenzhen With Sharpshooting (T3 20%) + Survivor* Basil - 82,476 With no pilot - 42,874 Or a total of +92.37% damage 7.5% for Basil 6.25% for Survivor ... +78.6% damage for Tempest at 796m *note Survivor wasn’t on my list of desired skills, but landed T4 out of the gate on first promo so I kept it.

You're the man. That answers everything. Thanks!
You know, I rolled a T4 Survivor and passed on it because I didn't want to lose the speed. Feeling awfully dumb now.

For almost any other build, I would have passed as well. I love me some speed. And for me, getting ANY T4 for the initial skill assignment on promotion is just hard to give up. I’ve even kept a couple of T4 Dodger skills for more jumping fun.
