Is there a reason for playing a tournament match on the final day, and not trying to move up enough to earn rewards? I see it every week. Pilot's score 1 point and call it a day. Seems like a waste of a perfectly good ticket.

It’s so they can drop a bracket. If you finish in the bottom 5 of a round, you drop a bracket, theoretically for easier competition the next day. So players will play a few days, then go in and bomb one round and sit out the rest of the day; next day they’re in a lower bracket.

I’ve only tried it once and it didn’t work for me. Still ran against tough competitors who had much nicer hangers. I’m now trying the don’t start tourney till late strategy.

Oh ... maybe they unwittingly got dragged into a tournament game and bailed out? Just guessing here, cos I’ve been on teams where the leader would change modes just before starting a battle.

I do that. On the last day, I refuse to grind, but I'll play a few TDM games because they're usually the easiest way to do the "use this mech" daily task. Usually, if it's a mech I don't use, I'll eject as soon as the match starts and then jump into a mech that goes really good with the map.
Today is a bit different and I'm just glad the task today is Lancer. I actually did well and had fun for the 3 games I had to use Lancer. Makes me think that maybe I should level it up to 12EN one day soon.
