To clarify my post from before. My post was only for the developers. 1. I'm level 23.. 2. I know what META is, I've watched YouTube videos of people playing. It looks sweet. I'm not speaking of playing META. I'm was only talking about a new player experience. 3. I've played beacon rush games where teams don't cap two of the beacons and sit on the spawn and just kill anyone who spawns, when they could have just ended the game quickly. I assume because more damage = more silver/gold/keys This is what I mean by Toxic, the environment is Toxic to new players. Perhaps that is the intent, to milk the players willing to pay and feed them easy kills to stroke their egos. I can't leave because I read somewhere if I just quit, I get put into a slaughter league where they purposely punish you... honestly, I doubt it could be much worse. Here is an example of one of my last games. This wasn't uncommon... I have played some close games and even when I lose they are fun.. This game wasn't even a contest... They had bots with MK2 weapons as I checked out their profiles and three of them had Titans over level 66.. I believe they were in gold league(sorry no, they were silver league.). I'm bronze league.

I’m glad you’re having fun. I just couldn’t imagine being where you’re at and dealing with all the extra doodads that veteran players have gotten used to over the years. I guess I can consider myself a veteran since I’ve been playing almost four years now. It’s probably a lot easier for younger players to try and keep up with Pilots, Modules, Drones and Microchips. All of these things were introduced gradually, one at a time over the course of the last couple years. If I were to start a game which had all these extra headaches (for me), I just wouldn’t. A lot of us piss and moan about changes, OP bots and weapons and the never ending cycle of nerfs and buffs but we can still have fun. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask questions or relate your experiences as well as blow off some steam. We try to keep it civil, but sometimes individuals get butt hurt and lash out. Try not to take it personally. Read the CoC and enjoy a laugh or enjoy some sage wisdom. Again, welcome to the forum.

Hi! You are very welcome here. Pull up a chair. Find your fun in War Robots any way you see fit. If you can't find it by all means move on. Be warned, the game is designed for you to find that fun via $money$. This is a far cheaper good time: war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/board/39/6-pack-league

I don't think Pix developers really come here to read, but what you've described has been business as usual for them for a very long time. I even remember one video that got leaked where some Pix exec was at some conference giving a presentation and he was basically boasting about the War Robots model to sell power. On the one hand, all mobile games have monetization strategies and for the most part, I'm ok with selling power. But, where I got sick was the endless loops of new content/nerf old stuff that really pushed me away. It's one thing to create new more powerful content, but to nerf existing stuff that people have worked so long and hard to get, or spent real money to buy, that's bait and switch and is morally and ethically wrong.

The trick to having fun playing War Robots is just stay in your own lane and do you. Do not spend because you think it will make you a big league player as the goal post will always be moving and the whales spend thousands here. Only spend what you can justify on entertainment. Once you know how its all rigged it is easier on the ego.
Do not worry about win rates or placing in a game as its all pre-determined by the matchmaker.
I have played over 5 years the best lesson I have learned is when the game frustrates you which it will just walk away and do something else for awhile.
Good luck and happy hunting.

I don't need to invest in modules anymore because that's checked-off. For a new guy there's so much to sink resources into that I think Pix has made it exceptionally hard for a noob to have a good time unless they have a LOT of discretionary income. No YouTuber would scoff at my hangar and as of today I have a 58% win rate (I think.) You CAN'T buy outright wins at this game. If you have a crap team around you -or- you play kinda poorly, your money won't save you from a loss. I used to THOROUGHLY enjoy Zenits/Noricums and Chimeras. But as I progressed up the leagues those weapons became more of a liability to the blue team so they had to go. Find some aspect of the game you enjoy, keep it as cheap as YOU want and stick with it. Ask Poopface about his "FU" hangar.

Pix makes no attempt to balance teams, but for me the biggest problem is missing players. In that screenshot there’s definitely 1 but possibly 4 people that basically weren’t playing. I’m in Expert and without exaggeration I’d say 90% of battles have missing players. I think it gets a little better in Champions but from the videos I’ve seen it’s still routine. I played 8 games last night, the first 5 had 2 missing blues, the 6th had 2 missing reds, the 7th had a missing red and blue (so 5v5 and these are actually usually fun) and the 8th I stopped paying attention. One of those first 5 games though we actually won because there was one super tricked out meta blue that dominated regardless. As far as being new, yeah, the power differential is huge and pretty much stays that way. I’m able to find fun by not caring about winning so much. I’ll try for it if I see the team is trying but usually it’s just 5 minutes of seeing what moves I can pull off then the Titans come out and it’s a slow numbing crawl to the end. Mainly it’s that I’ve been playing for 4 years and amassed most of the bots and weapons so there’s great and flexible variety. For a new player you get a few inflexible items and it takes months to acquire new stuff, but if you keep playing and just focus on learning strategies and building up Ag you’ll slowly start acquiring more fun toys from the event chests, workshop, or competitions on this forum. If you’re going to stay f2p them aim for Expert league as your end goal.

I typically am in Masters 2 or 1 depending on what hanger I run. Masters 2 seems to be my sweet spot. I don't get annihilated by max-level or S clan hangers all that often but also don't run into too many mouthbreathers who don't know what a beacon is or what it's for.
Developing the FU Hanger concept has been a Godsend for my gameplay. It's fun, is continually evolving, and isn't dependent on meta gear.
