I am pretty disappointed in EMGs.....my 3 Nucleons are 1.9, 1.8, 1.7....one Atomizer at 1.7, 2 quarkers at 1.6......
I experimented, put my 1.9 Nucleon on TFal, worthless.
Most weapons I can tell around 1.8/1.9 that they have some nasty to them....so, these things, do they ever sing, or do they need hundreds of millions Ag to get to MK2 to be something good?
The overheat spread should not be an issue when TFal is up in someone’s face, still blasting....but not a lot happened before some reds finally put me down.
These weapons are top tier expensive....so, some experience here may determine if I sink more resources into them, or not.

As you already know, it's very rough, many weapons are worthwhile at 2.12. Even Punisher-Ts for the price. For almost in your face blasting consider Ember or Calamity at 1.9. What I like about them is that if you can put up with the reload they do full damage until they are out of ammo again. I was/am a big fan of TFalc/Ember. I tried Nucleon and it was great at range when cold but crappy when hot at close range, it seemed like damage went almost to zero at point blank range when the Nucleon was hot. (One man's subjective opinion.) 1.9 Ember with whatever free Suppression chip you can throw at it may be a nice combo. You could try Devastator but even it gets wheezy after the initial boom-boom.

FWIW, I tried fairly leveled (2.4) EMGs on my Phantom and like foxypotato says they are great at 500m for a few seconds but for a furball in center at Carrier I still prefer Tasers. Even post nerf Tasers are still very viable on the Phantom, surprisingly enough.

Somehow, Nucs were just appearing in my hanger, then I got Sam in a loot box and decided to try this insanity. It’s good, but not as fun or effective as the pre-nerf Avenger build was. @bananasplit If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn’t make the investment.
It certainly helps anchor some damage in my fun hangar, so I can experiment w other bots, but it is not headed into main hangar any time soon. That’s a 2.9 body, btw.

It certainly helps anchor some damage in my fun hangar, so I can experiment w other bots, but it is not headed into main hangar any time soon. That’s a 2.9 body, btw. I agree.

I like them. I'm not much of a brawler these days so I keep my distance and I use them in short bursts to keep them from over heating too much.
Just another different weapon variant to use out of the 21-25 different weapons.

After the EMG nerf only my 2.6 Nucleons are the only EMG's worth a 「dookie」 anymore. And that's not saying much.

I've pushed two Nucleons up to 1.10 and I'm satisfied with the output even post-nerf. I use one in pretty much every game on a Cerberus with a maxed Punisher-T and 1.10 Atomizer; good for poking the bear out at range and then if we're brawling, I'm not sweating the accuracy loss much while they get hot.

I have and use an assortment of them at 12.12. If I were gonna level any of them now, I would def go with quarkers, IMO the best value and performance of the lot. I run just one atomizer on a Ssack and it rocked hard pre nerf, nowadays diminished A BIT, so not useless by any stretch.

I also run an EMG jumping Phantom, currently as my main hangar first drop. It’s a good build, but 2.7 for the Quarks and 2.6 for the Atom. With jump it’s pretty good at countering Shells too. When I’m running towards that first beacon and 2-3 red Shells are approaching, I jump over them and hopefully catch a shockwave to an undefended beacon. As I’m meteoring out of harm’s way towards their home beacon, they can hear me shout out “Thanks for the lift, boys. See ya later!”

Ok.....for myself, I’m not sure these weapons are worth the huge expense to level up. I see mostly they suck posts, but a few there ok if MK2.
It is a shame, as I love the idea of big brother to Magnum weapons, yet they wound up falling way short.

Most of the people saying "they suck" are just mad because they can't destroy an undamaged opponent in one burst, it seems. They're angry about losing something that didn't actually exist in the first place.

I showed you before the pic of my 3x nucleon fury with freeze chip drone.
alone maybe few weapons is good to use no problem
but heavy always good in 3 so maybe is why to me this guy is great. Also, he is my best fight against other red with EMG. I think is frost make them blink first when try play bullet chicken.
Emg no do well for trigger chip effect but freeze it apply long long long time. Even when hot and shoot like stupid blind lady. This help to keep effect if fellow blue have same effect. This is maybe best thing I have to say for these weapon.
