Might just be my lack of skill but damn these rockets just will not hit bots like blitz and phantom unless you are standing right next to them.
I had one blitz running directly at me (no weaving) on power plant map and the rockets are so "dumb" that they actually pass through the bot and explode where the bot used to be.
Try hitting virtually any bot at 300mtrs and see what a joke it is. One step left or right and rockets just explode right next to them.
They need to increase the splash radius or make them travel faster through the air.
Somehow I'm sure the new fire rockets that are about to enter the game will not have this problem.

I have the same problem. Hard to hit a fast bot even if it runs directly towards you. I think the rockets explode at the distance where the bot was when you fired so they hit behind? If it runs left/right you can compensate but if it runs towards you can't do anything.
Increasing splash would definitely help. Oh god, where are the days where Trident splashed like a fat man in pool...

"back in my day" bots like Gareth and Rogatka could avoid orkan fire by backpeddling, causing the rockets to explode in front of them.
They soon fixed that and you could no longer outrun the rockets but it seems we have the same built in feature again... Makes me wonder if Orkans suffer the same fate now.

I run a pair of MK2 cryos on a Rog JUST because theyâre so damn fun and challenging to land my shots while jumping. But I have to agree that lately they are buggy as hell. In my experience I try not to lean on my fire button for too long when firing at anything, no less trying to connect with a blitz. Splash damage is 「dookie」, needs a buff.

No issues for me with them....I tend to lead them, like flames, and “bend” them while moving/dashing/jumping.
It is kinda an art form.......

Rockets have been passing within the hitbox of Phantom and failing to proximity exsplode for a while. The bug comes and goes. Perhaps....or, to you it seems you hit Phantom, but back at the server in the gulag, the Phantom isn’t there, and you missed. No real way to know for sure, but in game lag is still a thing, be it intended or not...... For you, as I remember you like Ragu!

It might be my lack of skill or perhaps my lag, but I can't hit anything with those rockets. I will always waste half of the magazine to just make that empty snowflake appear. That's why I don't use them.
The only exception is when backstabbing with Loki - when they're not moving nor looking.

This is so strange to me....I still get kills, but I also keep reds at bay, firing some when they try to take a peek, etc.....but when I have a clean shot, I waste most reds. My best bot for this is Ancient Tyr, so assault is Cryo/Rime salvos, which is somewhat impressive, still, to watch. Similar to the awesome pre-nerf Orcan heydays of yesteryear, lol

Yeah well looking at the new test server fireball rockets, just confirms that Cryo weapons are the 「illegitimate child on the way out to make way for the new meta against Shell and Arthur.
These new rockets fly like the wind all the way to 500m and have Wasp like accuracy. Also follow the latest lazy trend of auto reload.....Pix money grab tactics strike again.
RIP Cryo family.

TBH I worry this is a new strategic “bug” for freeze rockets given the new napalm rockets announced - splash with dot that ignores physical shields? Sounds like a shell counter to me and can’t have cryo compete with that.

Tried running my 2.12 Tulu/Pin combo again, on a Raven (20% damage boost on jump) with two L1 thermonukes and firepower booster running. Full barrage down on a Phantom running directly at me did jack 「dookie」. Ditto on a Fenrir. I definitely could scratch the paint on some Pantheon that dropped its shield right before I fired, and I think I managed a splash kill or two, but the days of this being a devastating combo are long gone, lost to amplified damage resistance powers and splash-radius nerfs.

Tulumbas and Pin are bugged with Phantom and Blitz but still work the same way they have since at least fall of 2017 on all other bots. They still have that sweet splash radious and can bring the pain to wall hiders.

They still have that sweet splash radious and can bring the pain to wall hiders. Problem with rockets is that they just don't output enough continuous damage after the load is blown. My average damage is way down this month and I realise its because I'm running 2 bots with cryos just trying to stem the flow of shells running to home spawn. Once the ammo runs out, you are pissing in the wind but the new flame rockets look good so far (no surprise with pix selling an antidote before the paint on the magnetar/hornet is even dry). Hit the rushing enemies from 500m out with some freeze/lockdown chips to slow the advance down.

My guess would be lag. The last few days I have seen some particularly weird Cryo problems. The usual reds missing by miles is happening (perhaps more so), but I also saw my Lance turned into a snowflake like five seconds after being missed by some rockets and taking no damage.

I have noticed that the first rocket in a salvo almost always misses and just goes straight, it’s from the 2nd rocket that the tracking seems to kick in,

And looks so pretty w a fast bot (Blitz for me) doing the Circle of Death dance around the target. edit - But I find myself shooting at Shell more than any other bot. Not nearly as many Phantoms in Champions League as there used to be.
