New bot is out. Great to see another 24E bot. They call it a tank destroyer, health looks similar to a panther, while speed is slow like a Guardian. Ability is a corrosive stasis effect. Thoughts?

Glad to see another 24 energy mech. I’m curious how much it’s ability will slow affected reds. Anything like the current stasis effects would be interesting. That and the larger weapons could make this zephyrs big brother.

All I saw was $50. I’m continually amazed at how a game supposedly still in beta has this money grab thing down pat.

The game has already cornered the market, full of players with maxed hangers sporting two railguns and all the carbine variants to slice and dice your mediocre hanger in seconds. Its got that bad I have to check it's not War Robots I'm playing these days. Pixonic is still the daddy but this game is the son it can be proud of.

It's not that good right now, I don't advise getting it. I think Zephyr and Guardian are way better.
I can't think of any common game situation where I'd rather have a redox over those two.

Yeah I think it will get tweaked once or twice kind of like how Brickhouse was so it can find its place (and sell enough units).

I chose to R5 my Guardian instead of getting the Redox. At the time, I had over 3k A-coins, so it wasn't exactly out of sight for me. But, since I really really wanted to run Thanos Guardian, I went the Guardian route instead. Plus, I couldn't see how it was going to be that much different in terms of playstyle over the Guardian. As a tank destroyer, I think the Guardian's System Crash is still more useful, while the Redox's ability is more geared towards light fast mechs. I could see it replacing my Zephyr one day though.
Side Note
I played a couple of games with folks on my Friends list over the weekend and I managed to play side by side with some Brickhouses. One of them had Javs, and wow, that Overcharger ability is SUPER useful. Suddenly made the Jav6 a force to be reckoned with again. In one match, I was running my Shadow and we were like an artillery team, wiping out reds one mech at a time. In another match, I cozied up to it with my Elsa Panther and I was amazed at how much more damage my SB12s were doing. In one engagement, I got a red at well over 60m away and was doing damage as if I were at PB range, and the poor guy could do nothing against us.

So, I've decided that I want to get either the Brickhouse or the Redox, with me leaning more towards the Redox. There's just something about how it hovers and the way it looks that really appeals to me. But, I won't get it right away. Going to save up for the CB12 first, rank it up for a second copy, and then get the Redox. That's my plan, to run it with dual CB12. It'll take a while, but that's ok.
The only possible crimp is if/when they release the disc launcher weapon. Can't wait to see it!

So, I was just thinking about the Redox. Most glass cannons have some sort of defense that mitigates the breaking glass aspect of the mech. Take the Panther. That Stasis Field is genius and can be used both defensively and offensively. Plus, the Panther is pretty speedy.
Now, bring in the new Redox. It's got similar HP as the Panther (I actually thought it was similar to Guardian before but I was wrong) but it's ability does not help it mitigate it's glassiness. It's a short burst that does a bit of damage and puts any mech caught in it in stasis. Mechs in stasis can still shoot back! At least with the Panther, the Stasis Field is also an indestructible shield that the Panther can hide behind.
Aside from the HP buff that I'd talked about before, I think the Redox's ability needs a buff too. Instead of a quick blast, it really should be an "over time" type of thing. Like all mechs caught in it suddenly find themselves with "the floor is lava" type of situation. They receive damage for as long as they are in the field as well as be in stasis. If they manage to leave the field or the field leaves them cause the Redox has moved on, the damage stops but the stasis remains for a few more seconds. This will allow the Redox to move out of the line of fire to give it some protection and the protection remains a bit even after the Redox has moved out of range and into cover.
Thoughts? I only bring this up cause after the first couple of days after it's release, I have not seen any more of these mechs. It's like anyone who got one has decided to just go back to their Panthers and Guardians.

I think I would rather see a buff to the bot than to the ability, however. I am leery of anything that pushes us closer to the War Robots dynamics of ability vs ability type play.
