So, how do Referral links actually work? I sent out 5 referrals through gmail but got no progress in the Development event. Whats up with that? Does the person receiving the email need to download the game and play it? I also thought of trying to send the Referral link through Discord but forgot my password. Wrote it down somewhere. Hmm.

If you have a second device, install MA on it, get up to division 10 (like 4 games or so). Then send a referral link to yourself (using either device). Accept yourself as frd, and that counts as +1 on both devices. Unfriend yourself, rinse and repeat 4x, you're done. The backend does not track a history of previous frd requests, so you can do it w/ the same alternate device or frd 5x.

I tried doing it with a level 10 account but nothing happens when i click the link to the referral.

Sweet! Is there a trick to get the 15K acoins through referrals too?

One quick update. You actually don't have to keep sending yourself the link. The link is always the same. After you unfriend yourself, just click the link again and it'll open the game and send a friend request to your other self. Accept on both devices and voila!
Worth the effort I think.

This does not work for me at all. I use iPad and when I open the links, I get a Plarium error stating Mech Arena cannot be run on this platform. But I do run it on this platform every day!

Thats weird. I was able to do it a couple of days ago, and my other device is my daughter's old iPhone 7 Plus. I'm on Android myself. Maybe try Bluestacks on a PC?

I found a workaround to get this done. My main account is on iPad but I did a dummy account on Android phone. I send the invite link from the iPad to an email, then open that email on the Android phone to launch the dummy account. This creates the new friend on my iPad that I can accept then immediately unfriend. Then I can exit the game on Android and click the link again to repeat the process. I am very glad that I do not need to do the initial training stuff each time. Once the dummy account is in Division 10, it can be used over and over.

I send the link via email from the smurf IOS to my Android main account. Rinse and repeat.

I cannot seem to get the friend referral to work this way anymore. I have a link in my email from my main account (iPad) where I open it on my 2nd account (phone) which opens the game and has a button to accept the friend request. On the main account, I can see that friend is added but no rewards for doing so. Wondering if anyone else is having the same difficulty.

I can confirm that they've fixed it. Their response to my ticket was that basically, the people I sent the link to already had MA installed or had it and uninstalled it. Oh well....it was great while it lasted.

How does this 「fluffernutter」ing link 「dookie」work? I’m able to copy and paste my referral link in FB; but when I tap somebody else’s link, it only takes me to the 「fluffernutter」ing App Store, with no option to go straight to the game. It doesn’t look like I’m sending any friend requests out. I AM logged into the game through FB. God I hate FB. Here’s what I get when I tap somebody’s link: Oh ... do I need Messenger installed? 「fluffernutter」 that.

Referral links are only for new installs now in order to get that task in the Dev Derby. If you or the person you sent the link to has or had the game installed before, you won't get the achievement.

Then why is it in the development derby if only new players can get that achievement? It doesn't make sense! We all want/need those rewards.

Well, the end reward for the Dev Derby is just an Amateur crate, so no big loss... I guess they really want us to promote the game for them. I've given them lots of my money and I don't really have any friends who would be interested in this...lol. Maybe I can coerce my daughter or son to install? Maybe when the end reward is better!
