I was all in on Phasing Renovators and Modulative Intensifiers until I realized that those were only providing benefit if I smashed that like active module button. It made me think that really, that wasn't any better than the days when you had to spend power cells to deploy drones at all. I went back and looked for passive-activation drone chips, the ones that activate when you hit a certain amount of incoming damage or percentage of health, or control resistance. Basically I'm filling in the gap of survivability since I'm not running Last Stand or Anticontrol on most of my fleet.
Still don't have anything better than silver drones, although I've generated a couple of T3 chips by now.

personally i find drones rather useful in some battle situations.

I'm figuring if I'm gonna give Legacy bots the best chance I'm gonna have to get that leg up from a drone.
Chips are accumulating. One day I'll start getting around. Maybe next year i might have tinkered something to be useful.
And yes I'm not doing the activate on active module use. That's a useful tip.

This ... is why I left the game.
I didn't like Pilots or Modules but I coped. However the one two punch of Drones and Chips knocked me the F out of of this game.
I just want giant walking robots shooting at each other. I don't need all the added complexity.

I thought that drones were going to be too complex but they turned into just an extension of pilots, and I liked what pilots helped me do with the bots I liked. It's all fine-tuning and optimization, which we* do in real life with all kinds of hobbies and professions. *I realize that I'm casting a big ol' blanket statement over the user community, but I'm guessing that the preponderance of us are (and don't kill me for this) geeks, nerds, tinkerers, and the like.

Customization is always a good thing but Drones seemed needlessly complex to me. When Drones came out I set up five drones and equipped the best chips (as I understood them) but then I gave up. But if you still enjoy the game that's great. I had reached the point where it felt like too much work.
