I've been doing that a lot... Not #1 very often but in the top 3 a lot... seems the Panther is THE mech for it, too. I like SB 16 + PC 8, personally... But that build is damn good, too.
I'm having more and more fun from running support builds, lately. TL 6 at R4 or higher will apply overheat in no time... and with the freeze effect... you basically just set up targets for your team to take out with little effort... especially on maps like yesterday's Tourney map if someone on your team has a pair of LAs and can shoot half decently with them. Nice work BTW!

Was starting to notice teammates would hone in on whoever the beams were on, definitely a fun addition to be the support setup guy.

Cheers for the game at the end of Tourney, BTW... it was exactly what I needed to complete like 3 tasks... including the "run with friends" task.
You and Munki, both, are always fun to see, whether Red or Blue!

I thought this was gonna be a thread about how kills are overrated in CPC...
A lack of beacon awareness permeates a lot of human v human CPC matches. I shouldn't be able to solo beat a squad of 3-4 players when two of them have close to my SP, yet I manage to do so more often than not. There's no way I mech out if I four cap your 「bum-bum」 a minute into the game, and you don't even bother trying to get your home beacon back; you're gonna lose very quickly.

The pace of CpC is considerably faster than BR it is really easy to fall behind and not have enough time to catch up. I have looked at the panic meter and realized there is no way to win, so i just kill as many reds as i can.

You needed those kills to put you on the podiums and it was the Assists that put you in first...so, you still need those kills!

I picture your avatar on here being you when you look up and see 85:30 on the "Panic Meter."

Things like Ninja Master, First Blood, Anvil's Hammer, etc, can add that final boost to your score. But not by a lot.
I didn't get top kills here... but the Personal Results tab of the battle log for this battle shows what made the score:
Getting Best Mech helps a lot... apparently.
